The Roycroft Inn Ratings and Reviews
I ordered the salmon entree which was exceptional with a wild rice and fresh vegetable sides. The service was great without being obtrusive and the ambiance is perfect , warm and inviting ,with the Roycroft style dining room. I think the meal was perfect and will go again and recommend it to everyone.
While traveling to visit Buffalo, NY attractions, decided to try the Sunday Brunch at the Roycroft Inn and then tour the various craft shops at the site. The brunch was excellent, the service top notch and the surroundings very quaint and historic. Highly recommend!
I had chosen the steel cut oatmeal. The oatmeal was so very dry. I was very surprised. I could not eat it. When I was walking out, I saw a man with the same order as mine. He had received maple syrup with his order. When I looked at the menu, it was supposed to be served with maple syrup. What a disappointment for a much anticipated breakfast get together. The waitress was just OK, not someone that I would expect in such a classy restaurant. The service could have been more accommodating.
We've been here several times recently and have found the cuisine to be delicious and the service excellent. The menu is progressive and well executed. And there is a good selection of wines at various price points. We live nearby and The Roycroft has become a favorite for us.
We love Olivia since she has been with us before. We just love her. We also love your bar, we had a drink before we sat down and really had a ball that night.
We were at our table almost 45 minutes before an order was taken. 30 would have been more acceptable. Both my husband and our friend ordered a dish that they did not receive. However, we weren't charged for the more expensive meal. My pork chop was as hard as a rock, really surprised me. So sorry to be leaving this response.
We absolutely love Olivia! I get the impression none of this was her fault. It looked pretty crazy that night.......Many thanks, despite the issues, she managed to make us really comfortable and happy!
We visited the Roycrift on Saturday of local restaurant week. We had a reservation but still had a half hour wait for our table but that was the only issue that evening. We were led to a great table with an outstanding waitress. The meals were awesome. Two of us ordered from the 20.17 menu and two of us from the 30.17 menu. The meal included soup or salad, entree and dessert. All four of us raves about our meals and we are determined to return to this restaurant.
The food and atmosphere were great. But our service was the definite downfall of a much anticipated evening. We felt that we were ignored the moment we were mistaken that it wasn't burger night and didn't order wine. We ordered a soda and a water. (Trying to be healthier.) We received a definite attitude from the server which was very unfortunate because I intentionally go here for the usual superior service. We said thank you multiple times and were ignored. (As in back turned to us.) We noticed other tables were significantly looked after. I also paid in cash and received incorrect change (short-changed) not once, but twice. My friend and I were extremely uncomfortable the entire time and informed the manager of our visit. I would recommend The Roycroft, but would advise requesting not to be served by this specific server. I never write bad reviews...I actually never write reviews in general. But this was a much anticipated evening that was extremely soured by our service. Istil will always love The Roycroft. This night won't make the top list though. I was very disappointed in the brunch. Very expensive. Food quality was not there. We were there at the start of brunch and the food had obviously been sitting for hour/hours already. Not worth it at all. They need to stop operating on their reputation and step things up. I won’t go back.
The Roycroft Inn is one of kind & very special for any occasion. This was my sister's birthday celebration with her best girlfriends & it was a perfect location! The staff was amazing - selecting a wonderful table with a view, providing impeccable service, including serving our homemade cake & bringing it to the table with sparkling candles! The comfort food was perfect for the rainy cold day. We can't wait to return!
Four of us went here to celebrate a co-workers retirement. Everything about our brunch was fantastic. It was a beautiful day in September and we sat on the veranda. Just the right temperature with a very slight breeze. And the food - so much to choose from! Everything I had was so delicious, I wish I could have had room for more. There was a lovely string quartet playing in the main room where the food was set up, and the level of sound from the music where we sat was just enough so that we could enjoy it, but it did not interfere with our conversations. And our server (I wish I could remember her name) was very attentive and friendly. All in all, great food, great atmosphere, great service, great price. I hope to be able to go here again soon.
Wedding gift dinner out. Lingered for almost three hours, and never felt rushed. Sat outside next to the garden and the weather was perfect, with no bugs.
Wine and negroni were both excellent. Food very inventive and beautifully presented. Wait staff attentive and not obtrusive.
Will definitely return
We were there for brunch and found the ambiance quite charming. It is warm , inviting and very cozy.
The food was good as well. Everything was delicious. I was only wanting a few more vegetable dishes.
The wait staff were all smiling and very helpful. We had a great time!
Nice selection of wines and craft beers. The charcuterie board was excellent, along with a mini loaf of fresh bread. The pesto on the chicken was light in flavor, but the meat was tender and juicy. The pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked. The raspberry mojito sherbet was unusual yet divine. Service was friendly and accurate, but not overbearing. We had an excellent experience!
The Roycroft Inn is a consistent delight. They were able to accommodate the needs of one of our guests who had numerous food allergies. Both the scallops and brined chicken are commended as gluten free options. The gluten free chocolate bombe dessert was spectacular! The dining space is quiet, light, and airy...a perfect place for a date or intimate gathering.
Open Table, however, failed badly. Though we had a confirmation from Open Table for our reservation, the Roycroft Inn had no record of our reservation. Fortunately, the Roycroft accommodated us with no difficulty.
