We had a wonderful dinner. Our service was excellent!!
Enjoyed our night at the Roycroft Inn for dinner. Our waitress was wonderful. Food was delicious. The Larkin room was very quaint. Love the ambiance of this place.
We asked for a specific table and were delighted they were able to honor our request.
New Year’s Eve. The food was subpar. Nothing special about it. The server was very good except she had a horrible cough.
We really like dining at the Roycroft and have taken out of town guests there.
My husband and my diner were both very good.
The only improvement we both agree about is the taste of the bread. The bread tasted very bland.
Our server was great!
There's a small bar where we found a very overwhelmed bartender. When we asked if the 2 seats in front of us were open (bar looked like someone just finished up a large meal and drinks and hadn't been cleared yet) he said he was super busy and didn't have time to clean that up. We walked away and went to a table.
Food and service were wonderful during dinner!
Whenever friends or family members come to visit, we love to bring them to the Roycroft Inn. The experience is never disappointing. Years ago my cousins from DC also stayed at the Inn...they still talk about their wonderful stay. It's one of WNY's gems! Thank you all at the Roycroft.
We had a table of 11 lifelong friends. Seating was a bit tight, service was quite slow but the ambiance and good quality was very good. Very long gaps between drinks and app order and longer for entrees. We have been here many times before and felt this was less of a quality experience than had previously. I expected more quite frankly.
The food, wait staff, and ambiance were marvelous. Half way through our meal, a large group arrived. They were offensively loud. I think that putting them in the corner amplified their volume. Otherwise, everything else was wonderful.
Having visited the Roycroft Inn previously, my wife and I dined there on Dec. 29. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable and for the most part, the atmosphere was perfect. Unfortunately, the end of our meal was spoiled by preteen brats running up and down the aisles of the restaurant. The children were supposedly under the care of a private party, but instead, it seems they had the run of the restaurant, disturbing patrons, and generally misbehaving, while the parents ignored their importunate behaviour. My wife and I drove an hour and half to dine at the restaurant, and we expected a more intimate dining experience, not a fast food atmosphere created by ill bred chidren. After the dinner, we were in the lobby and found young children bouncing on the chesterfield where we were sitting. Your inn is beautiful, and we hope to return, but not in the company of adults who cannot control their children.
I went to the Roycroft for brunch based on recommendations but was not as impressed. I felt the food offerings were just average as was the taste. I know it was buffet but a server never came to the table until I asked for him - you could only get juices or your complimentary mimosa from your server however the buzzer was fantastic. She made sure to help fill coffee and clear plates expeditiously.
Food is always great and our server Nadine was super attentive. The location is wonderful.
Brunch had many delicious options. Accompanying Mimosa, Bloody Mary or Poinsettia cocktail was fantastic. Very Disappointed with the temperature of the hot choices: prime rib, lamb, potatoes, French toast were lukewarm. Perhaps the carving station and hot trays didn’t have adequate heat sources to maintain temperature-it’s a puzzle. Desserts were wonderful. Would’ve enjoyed some green salad and mashed potato to accompany the meats. Staff very pleasant, attentive and extremely accommodating. Ambiance warm and festive.
Perfect evening! Great food, attentive staff. Never disappointed.
Family gathering at Christmas
The food is excellent. great atmosphere for celebrations. Waiters are friendly and courteous.
Our experience was very good . Dinner was really good . We were sorry that they were out of Oysters , but everything was good . Our waitress was pleasant and
We went for Sunday Brunch on 12/22/19. We were out to celebrate family and the season. The Roycroft Inn is a beautiful place, hands-down! However, their Christmas holiday decoration leave a lot to be desired. There is a difference in a “period” approach and just plain “blah.” We were astounded at the lack of effort.
The buffet was not worth the trip down and the cost. It was adequate, nothing awesome or out-standing. The chicken dish was the best dish on the menu. Carving station was a joke and omelettes, although cooked in front of you, came out the size of microwave omelettes. Although the physical setting is beautiful, the Brunch “taste” itself was like a breakfast bar at Denny’s on steroids.
The wait staff was absolutely awesome. Could NOT have been more in tune with the ebb & flow of the dining room. Great job. We left a 30% tip. There was one woman, a mature lady with long gray hair (manager???) who looked like she was dressed to bar-tend.
What happened Roycroft Inn? Are you living on reputation?
Always excellent. We thought there desserts were not as good as usual but the brunch had excellent choices.
Absolutely love everything about the Roycroft. Our evening started with a warm welcome from the waitress as we were seated in a quaint room near a fireplace. We had a party of 8 and felt right at home. The food was outstanding. We had salads, tenderloin, salmon and chicken all to perfection and the crème brulee' was to die for!! Can't wait to go back again
We had such an awesome time at the Roycroft Inn tonight. The food was incredible. The drinks were the tastiest, purest concoctions you could ever dream of, and the absolute best part was the wait staff bent over backwards in the most sincere and genuine way to see that we had a good time. Our waitress gave us an enthusiastic tour of the entire campus after our meal and it was just an awesome night. Thank you so much for being extra, The Roycroft Inn! We will come again.
Sue was amazing as our server and our meals were incredible. Those scallops were the best I’ve ever had! I’m so glad she recommended them.
There is no better place to hang with friends during the holiday season. Our group of 7 was warmly welcomed and promptly served by Angela behind the bar. We requested a table in the lounge (as our group can be a bit rowdy) and we were cheerfully accommodated by the manager, who made sure that our needs were met and kept checking on us. We had a bunch of menu questions/requests and our server, Matt, fielded all graciously and accurately. Our group loved all of the food - a variety of salads, crab cakes, vegetable crepes, burgers and amazing French onion soup. A great time was had by all of us and everyone went above and beyond to make our night awesome! A special place for all of those life events - big and small.
The food was absolutely delicious. The ambience was lovely and the service was great
Food was delicious, love the atmosphere of the Roycroft, and service was great!
Perfect birthday dinner at the Roycroft. The inn was decorated for the holidays and all the charm was added. Our server was excellent and did not rush our evening. All of our entrees were perfect. Afterwards we listened to jazz in the lounge. Great night to celebrate.
Hummus offering looked and tasted terrible. Toasted flat bread was sliced Italian. No spices on hummus as stated. Server was rough. Not up to any standards.
Charming, historic, heart of East Aurora.... when President Fillmore lived there it existed... great food and service
In general, an historically beautiful space. While you wait for a table, you wait in the most elegant prairie-style rooms.
Service is very good. Wine list is also very comprehensive. Every table is set with flowers, linen table cloths and full cutlery (steak knives).
For holidays, however, they do a comprehensive buffet. Many stations, so no lines. Carving station for turkey, prime rib and ham; made to order crepe station - only problem is fillings are only sweet and no savory; smoked salmon and inventive salad station - very good wild rice salad Rather than dinner plates, they have small platters
Excellent food. Lovely surroundings. Friendly staff. Was a very enjoyable meal
When making your reservation through Open Table be aware that your special requests DO NOT get forwarded to the establishment. This has happened to me THREE times.
Observation on the Roycroft---reservations were made two months prior to the event. When we arrived guests were requesting a table who did not have reservations and they were given immediate preferential seating. We were seated near the door with a cold draft problem. Upon a firm request, our original choice of seating was made available after a 20 minute wait. Not acceptable.
This is a Sunday Brunch must. Everything you think a Sunday Brunch should be. Complete with mimosa and string quartet. A perfect Sunday drive from anywhere you live. Not too busy during the winter months.
Thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday night dinner at the Roycroft Inn. We had a drink in the Craftsman Lounge before heading in to dinner, and the bartender, Angela, was courteous, efficient, and fast! We were impressed. We were equally pleased with the great service we received from Barbara in the dining room. It was a busy night with a special event going on in an adjacent area, but we still enjoyed great, attentive service and certainly did not feel ignored or forgotten. We started with the shrimp cocktail and for entrees we chose the beef tenderloin and the coconut curry. Both were top-quality and delicious. Also loved the historic Arts & Crafts ambiance of the inn, which is what attracted us here in the first place. Look forward to returning.
The Roycroft Inn has a nice historical ambiance and uses fresh products to make delicious food. The service is very good and we had another beautiful dinner for my wife’s birthday.
Great food, service, and atmosphere! Absolutely outstanding.
The Roycroft was the ideal place to celebrate an early birthday with my sister who was in from out of town. The food was spectacular and the ambiance was perfect. We shared the crab cake appetizer and my sister said they were the best she’s ever had (she travels extensively). We both agreed the price of the food and drinks was well worth it for the quality and amazing fall specials we enjoyed.
Very charming, cozy atmosphere. Service from Sue was exceptional! Went with a group of friends for Sunday brunch and we were amazed at the selection of food offered. Every bite was delicious. Will definitely return and recommend highly!
Service was great, we went from Brunch. Omelets were just awful and desserts were very dry. Most of the food was just OK. Prime Rib was good, Pork & Meat loaf were awful. Service was wonderful, but for $29 per person, the food should have been better. All in our part felt the same way.
Decent food, poor service, nice atmosphere. Our server gave us minimal attention, was always in a rush to attend to other tables. Ordered a Caesar salad as an appetizer and never got it. Server never stopped by so I could alert her of the oversight. Food was ok, ordered a bone in pork chop which was on special and it was dry and overcooked. Mashed potatoes had the flavor of instant mashed, although I am certain they weren’t. Lobster & Shrimp bisque was overloaded with croutons probably to mask the minimal amount of meat in the soup. Ordered creme brûlée for dessert which was fine but the peanut butter pie was Ice cold and hard break. Ordered coffee, never got offered a warm up.
While not ultra expensive, this restaurants price range is what we would consider a special occasion meal. We certainly won’t be considering the Roycroft for future special occasions. There’s just overall better options out there and as nice as the atmosphere is, the food quality and poor service are just too much to overlook.
We had lunch with our son and daughter-in-law to celebrate our son's birthday and it was wonderful!
