Good food, excellent service and the building is beautiful.
Great food Love the setting n music at brunch
Great service , outstanding dinner in a beautiful setting. A wonderful evening.
A wonderful return visit to the Roycroft In after 10+ years and the food, service and ambience were fabulous - so happy to have made the return trip!
The NY strip steak was a tough piece of meat and came out luke warm. The croquette was good and the veg side was below average. Appetizers were good. The desserts were average. The food is not worth the money. I wouldn’t go back there for dinner, only brunch.
This was my husband's and my first time at the Roycroft. We had a couple apps, salad and 2 entrees. The food was totally on point. Our server was friendly and very attentive. I couldn't have asked for a better meal and love the ambiance. We definitely plan on returning.
You just never know what to expect on New Year's Eve. Happy to report the Roycroft passed with flying colors. We were seated immediately upon arrival at a perfect table by the fireplace. A server arrived with water and menus and took our drink order. The level of service continued all night. Shared the blue cheese and carmelized onion tart. Very tasty, with the perfect balance of flavors. Dinner choices were filet, cooked exactly as ordered and scallops, sweet and fresh. The only disappointment was the bread. Just don't care for whole wheat with wine and dinner. The prices were also reasonable, especially for a holiday. They feature some interesting weeknight specials that seem worthwhile checking out, so looks like a reason to head back soon.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve at the Roycroft. Everything was terrific. We actually were seated 15 minutes early! Our server went out of her way to make this dining experience special.
Wonderful dining experience. We did not feel rushed and service was exceptional! Food was delicious.
Great Mew Years Eve dinner!
Food was great. Never experienced such bad service. Waitress was so inexperienced. Will not go back again. It was so frustrating. Took 45 minutes for appetizers then lunch came out with appetizers. She never checked on us at all till we finished
There are very few upscale restaurants in the area that have good vegetarian options. The Roycroft is one and so is Eckl's@Larkin. One of the primary reason we frequent the Roycroft is because we have two vegetarians in the family and they get tired of places that offer only a pasta dish.
Server was attentive, great selections on the buffet, good family experience
Daniel was a great server, food was excellent... love toe Roycroft
The food was excellent. The waitress was very attentive and very prompt with our order. Great place to celebrate any big event. Very quiet surroundings.
Can't beat the history and ambience of the Roycroft. Food was delicious, gracious service.
Beautiful dining room with lovely fireplace. Excellent, friendly, service. Our waiter was outstanding. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. All in all, an excellent meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you!
We chose to go for lunch on a weekday with our son and his girlfriend, who were in from Boston, MA. The four of us each ordered something different from the specials menu. Everyone was pleased with their meal and drinks. All of us enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. We then took the time to stroll across the street to browse the gift shop and antique store. It was a most enjoyable experience all around.
Went for Christmas Brunch and everything was very good. Incredible selection to choose. From fresh made omelets to carved meats to a host of sides like quiche or a newburg, everything was very much enjoyed.
Great experience. Plenty of food to choose from at the buffet. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Christmas Dinner tradition for our family and the buffet never disappoints. The wait staff is friendly but not hovering, the food is well prepared and presented and the atmosphere is just right. We look forward to this annual family dining experience with its something for everyone and no muss no fuss at home!
We have previously eaten here for Christmas. Our initial visits years ago were good: what you’d expect from the Roycroft. Then a few years back we had 2 bad Christmas dinners in a row, and decided that we’d have to go somewhere else . This year, we decided to give the Roycroft another try. Sadly, that was a mistake. Our reservation was for 1:30, and our table was immediately ready - we were seated at 1:25. We noticed how it was much less busy than previous years. It took quite a few minutes for the busser to come over and offer us coffee. We had to ask him to bring cream, he was friendly and accommodating and said our server would be right over and she’s take our drink orders. . It was another 10 minutes before she came over and took our drink order and explained the buffet . It took a total of 30 minutes fir our drinks to arrive, all diners had a choice of 1 of 3 complementary drinks, do not sure why the hold up. Meanwhile, other nearby tables had their server walk by several times. I had to remind our server who eventually brought us larger drinks stating they were compliments of her for the delay. She was nice but absent for most of the service and just seemed overwhelmed even though she only appeared to have 6 tables ? on to the food: disappointing? Dated?, mediocre at best? Carving selection included lamb, roast beef (- way too well done) and ham. No turkey? Waffle station had pre made waffles and the chef who was sitting looking disinterested .The salad station consisted of a bowl of mixed greens ( with canned olives?), a grain salad, Waldorf salad ( this was good), and salmon with the usual toppings. The cheese station had some cubed cheeses , canned beets, mehhh . Entrees were watery mashed squash, sausage, seafood neuberg, stuffed chicken Breast. Desserts - many but poor quality dry bread pudding, cannoli stuffed w pudding? . Positives:The atmosphere is lovely . But :Service was horrible. My advice ? Quality over quantity . For $42 Pp I expect more
Ambience was lovely, table by the fire on a snowy night. Service was good. Husband had the pork chop which he loved. I had the lobster risotto, which was just okay. Risotto was a bit runny.
Beautiful setting with a warm fire burning for our new weekend before Christmas tradition.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Specialty cocktails were delicious, food was outstanding. Service by all was exceptional. A must near the holidays for special occasions.
The Roycroft is a beautiful place to meet friends and family and enjoy brunch. Although it was quite busy and some loud groups made it difficult to hear one another, good food and a good time was had by all.
A lovely Christmas luncheon with friends; great food, beautiful setting! Perfect!
Great place for our Quilting club to gather for our Christmas luncheon. Friendly service and great food.
It was so cold in the dining room I wore my winter coat through dinner. It’s a classic East Aurora spot but don’t go in the winter. I had scallops that were not fresh. I could smell the dishonest as they as carried it to the table. They covered the taste with a spicy sauce. The others had salmon and chicken which were fine. Price with tip and no drinks, dessert or appetizers was $149. Not good value
Servers were very attentive but not intrusive. Good location relative to where we stayed overnight (only a few streets away) and restaurant parking was just across the street.
We three women (my sister, cousin and me) consistently choose the Roycroft for lunch to celebrate special occasions. It is quiet, tastefully decorated for the season or holiday and the food is fresh and delicious. I usually opt for the catch of the day and yesterday enjoyed mahi mahi with a side medley of sautéed vegetables. We always opt for dessert and it is nice to have the option of a “sliver” portion. Service was friendly but not chummy which I appreciate. I would recommend The Roycroft.
Both food and service was excellent. My guests from Canada appreciated the beautiful building and surroundings and of course the food. They will come back again.
Great as always, love the ambiance, the food and the exceptional service
Quality of service and food were memorable. Having grown up in 50s in EA, I'm very familiar with the Croft - been there many time under various owners. Impressed with the present décor/mangement.
Love the Roycroft. The food was very good and the selection on menu was diverse without being overly wild. Service was awesome.
It has been several years since we have been to the Roycroft for dinner, but we were very pleased with the food, service, and quiet ambiance. The food was well prepared and delicious and was produced from many local sources. The menu was nicely varied and the pricing was very good for the dishes and the elegant type of restaurant the Roycroft is.
The special cocktails were also very good and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot Ali Baba toddy, which was perfect for a November evening. The desserts were exceptional, as well.
A great place and menu for a special occasion, like a birthday or anniversary, or a relaxing or romantic evening. My wife and I will return soon!
We’ve dined at the Roycroft many times . It is always a pleasure. This visit, However, was quite disappointing. Our reservation for four of us was for 1:30. We approached the hostess station only to be told we could only sit in the bar area. There were private parties going on in 2 of the 3 possible dining areas and all the other tables were taken. We had out of town guests and was not expecting to sit in the lounge where there was noice and people congregating around. We were told by the hostess that the Roycroft overbooks reservations in hopes of some parties will cancel. Well this backfired on us! We refused to sit in the bar and decided to wait for a quieter/better atmosphere table. This was at least 45 minutes after our original reservation was for. NOT HAPPY! The food itself was very good.
We were served sandwiches on Small Business Saturday made with pressed ham. Really? Diner food? The Roycroft is known for being inconsistent, but this was kind of insulting.
On the other hand, burger night earlier in the week was good.
This was our third time at the Roycroft. Being out of town it’s a Thanksgiving tradition for us to take my 94 year old uncle there on Friday. Honestly disappointed this year. I had the beef short ribs very fatty. He had a pork chop and it was dry and over salted. My cousin asked for a glass of wine with dinner. It was brought with the appetizer. May have to try Old Orchard next year.
Went here for Thanksgiving dinner and even though it was a buffet it was very good. This wasn't our first experience at the Roycroft and it won't be our last. The food is always high quality and the servers are always very attentive. We highly recommend it.
