There’s an obvious reason why this place is full every night... great food and great service!!!
What an amazing experience...the food was outstanding. Our server Rob went above and beyond. Recommendations for wine and food was spot on. The hostess and manager were very personable and professional yet still friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a spectacular dining experience!
Fantastic food and wine in a beautiful setting with truly outstanding and caring service. What more could you ask?
Amazing food and service, thank you for a special evening!
Excellent food, service, ambiance
Only complaint is I wish there were 1/2 glasses of wine and that there was a buttery chardonnay under $20, even $19.
Mother’s day brunch was wonderful. Expensive but wonderful.
What a wonderful experience my daughter and I had. We were celebrating Mothers day and her birthday. Wonderful experience ;-)
Great atmosphere. Good food. Try to the Australian Wagyu rib cap. After dinner, walk around the hotel and the gardens.
Incredibly expensive for a small piece of good steak and Salmon. All sides extra after paying $35 for an 8 oz steak and about the same for a nice piece of salmon. Two glasses of wine for $25/each, very small pour. $238.00 for an 8oz steak a piece of salmon, a side of asparagus and 2 small glasses of average Cab. Great snob appeal if that’s what your after. Compare at $120.00.
It was perfect!
Steak was perfectly done, very flavorful. Excellent sides and bread. Service was top notch. Loved it, first time, will be back again
Given the expense of The Royce, I was very disappointed when my USDA prime ribeye steak was almost impossible to eat. It had lots of fat and grissels, and I complained to our waiter about it, who, to be fair to The Royce, offered to replace it with another selection. I declined his generous offer. Based on my experience, I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will NOT be dining there anytime soon. The rest of the Langham hotel is quite beautiful, however.
First time here celebrating a birthday and the night was Amazing! The Japanese Wagyu was amazing! The wine menu is very extensive, server gave us great recommendations. Definitely will be going back soon!
The food was good overall, but The Royce lacked the elegance and "polished staff" one would expect in a supposedly upscale restaurant that charges such high prices. Double-sided paper menus that felt like a place mat; seriously? They boast a 3,000-bottle wine cellar, and also offer some selections by the glass ranging in price from $16 to $37, but our waiter didn't seem to know anything about them, offering a taste instead; all well and good, but maybe some education is in order, or send over the sommelier!
He brought our bill while we were still enjoying dessert, not in a leather folder, but on a silver tray with a pen; coffee shop service at it's best! Probably won't dine here again.
Good ambiance, decent service. Food did not meet our expectation.
Sword fish and John Dory - dry, no flavor, not enough sauce for John Dory. Hazel nut sauce was nothing extraordinary.
Greg Norman signature Australian wagyu Rib eye was cooked just right as requested. But lots of fat, tendon, ligament. Chew and spit experience.
Dirty martini was good.
Hand cut french fries were soggy.
bone marrow - not a lot of marrow there, but lots of panko crust on top. Panko kind of overpowers the taste of marrow. We had better ones.
Tomato Bisque was flavorless and quatity was pretty much 4 tablespoon.
Grilled oyster was okay.
Beignet - we had better ones too.
Coffee - I brew better coffee at home.
A little bit disappointed with the food for that evening.
Amazing food, amazing service. Probably my new favorite upscale steakhouse
The Royce brunch is always a special treat. I just wish it was held more often. The variety, quality, and just plain goodness is out of this world!
Excellent experience celebrating my wife’s birthday and Simone’s attention to the details was superb... like always the Almaviva wine was outstanding.
Nestled in the Langham hotel is this unexpected treasure. This was my 10th time dining here over the last few years, the second time this year. The service is truly wonderful, as is the elegant ambiance. We have yet to have any items on the menu that were not delicious, but this time the standout was the Beignets on the dessert menu and the handcrafted cocktails. Worth the drive. Terrific for special occasions or a wonderful date.
The food wad absolutely fabulous. The steak was amazing. Unfortunately the day we went they were pretty short staffed so service wasn't the quickest but other than that it was an incredible experience... I highly recommend it to anyone.
We had a memorable evening the other day: impeccable service and delicious food. I will definitely go back, and attend their wine tasting dinners!
The service is great, the food it’s just ok for the price. I’ve had better steak for less
Gorgeous bar. Lovely restaurant setting. The menu offering was wonderful, but the food itself was just okay; not memorable. The service is superb.
We ordered oysters for an appetizer and a Ceaser salad split. They both came at the same time (not split) and we waited at least 30 minutes. Then my rack of lamb came and it was raw on the inside. The service was terrible and we felt ignored.
Very good food, but the presentation of such food came off a bit presumptuous. I understand the wait staff was trained to do this. For example, our steak...they brought it out on a large wood cutting board and covered it with raw rosemary and garlic bulbs. We were excited and hungry. The waiter then told us, we do not get to cut our own steak, but they do it in the back. They just wanted to bring the steak out in case we would like a picture of it...this extra step in the process, was not impressive.
Also, the wine BTG is outrageous.
Rib cap & truffle rositto special was so good! As always: great view, great service, nice and quiet. Best steakhouse in Pasadena
Very nice place for a romantic date I recommend this place 100 percent.
Best steak house I’ve had!!! Perfect for special occasion.
waiter was more concerned with tables ordering expensive wine.
Consistent great service and quality food. My boyfriend and I LOVE this steakhouse! We always seem to have Matthew as our server, and he is such a pleasure to talk to. He's always very attentive and makes sure everything is the highest quality possible. We admire The Royce and their attention to detail. Every steak , side dish, and dessert we've ever tried has been phenomenal. We love the relaxing and elegant atmosphere, and really appreciate the manager checking on every table personally. We can't wait tor return for our next special occasion!
Our server Steven was incredibly knowledgeable. Both he and Hassan we friendly and attentive. Great meal!
One of the.best restaurants in Pasadena. The service is impeccable.
My husband was in the mood for a good steak and we looked at several menus on-line before deciding on the Royce. We couldn't have been more pleased. The food was excellent, especially the very inventive and tasty appetizers. The service was also excellent. It is pricey but not as much as many of the alternatives and the quality certainly makes the price worthwhile.
First time there, food was excellent, the service was excellent, the drinks equally as good. The Hostess prompt and polite, the waiter attentive but not intrusive as this was an anniversary dinner - received a small Celebratory Desert _ that could have been larger but overall was a wonderful experience and the grounds beautiful to walk around.
Not good! Ordered an expensive rare steak. It arrived between medium rare and medium. Sent it back. The second steak was a substitute steak of a much lower quality. The ethics of this place are awful.
We were greeted by crisp white paneling highlighted by warm pillows to accent this elegant dining venue. Japanese Kobe Beef was a delight by Chef Shelton.
The Royce is the epitome of class and elegance. And venues for dining do not disappoint. Dining at “The Terrace” and “The Royce” epitomizes class.
Wood fired steaks (white oak) delighted diners and my company. The “Soft Polenta” with hints of spice were culinary “butter.” Grateful to the team at “The Royce.”
The Greg Norman Wagyu NY Strip was cooked perfectly, the service impeccable and even the bread in the breadbasket was delicious.
I feel like Ron Swanson, fasting all day, just to enjoy a steak from this place. It's DAMN GOOD.
Food and service was above and beyond. We’ve marked it as a place to definitely go back.
