A delightful experience. Very relaxed staff who made us feel very welcome and the food was superb. Just the right balance of formality / informality. The decoration and ambience of the restaurant was lovely.

I had lunch at the Royal Oak yesterday with two of my relations. We were greeted courteously and directed to our table, which had a pleasant view into the garden. The wait staff were helpful and both drinks and food arrived pretty quickly. The food was excellent - we had three different main courses, all of which were very tasty and well presented. Two of us had a dessert and, once again, these were tasty and well presented. The bill was relatively modest for what we had had and the level of the establishment and the automatic service charge was only 8%. Altogether an excellent lunchtime experience.

Excellent as always. Swift, efficient and friendly service. Delicious food and wine, all within a beautiful setting. Highly recommend, it’s our favourite local eatery.

The food was amazing, I won’t go into detail as we were told the menu changes in a few days. Although staff had noted my allergies they weren’t prepared and were confused, nevertheless this was resolved quickly and in a way I felt I could trust. We had a lovely time, friendly approachable staff. We would definitely recommend and will go again.

We were not asked if we have any averages at the beginning or needed special menus we had two vegetarians and one vegan and wasn't offered any information of options for these guests Staff seemed unsure of what was available. There was a menu change as we arrived very poor vegetarian and vegan options. When deserts were offered, they took out a plant base menu which hadn't been offered earlier sadly very disappointing as it was a special birthday meal with my family

The food was fantastic and the service was superb so very happy. The only thing we were sat right under the open kitchen which did make it slightly noisy but a nice afternoon Sunday lunch.
