Not impressed with the service or quality of food, unfortunately. It seemed that nobody knew what they were doing -- food runners several times attempted to deliver the wrong meals to us, had to ask for silverware, other things, etc. The food was okay, but not anything to write home about.
Our waiter was lovely, however the wait between the appetizer and main course was about 1 hour. It took forever and once it arrived we were disappointed. Food came out lukewarm. We don't think we'll return to this restaurant anytime soon.
Great space, amazing food, beautiful view.
With a lot of excitement and anticipation we made a Saturday dinner reservation. We were immediately disappointed when told that the last rack of lamb was just sold. For an 830pm reservation on a Saturday night - how do you run out of rack of lamb? That was not a good sign. Tables around us were given bread, but not us, so we had to ask. Ordered a bottle of sparking water, which was kept in a chiller a few feet away from the table. Because our glasses were never refilled, we had to stand up, retrieve the bottle and refill for ourselves . We ordered a great bottle of wine (the best part of the meal), but again had to keep refilling our own glasses. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming, but we still had poor, inattentive service, which would be fine - if this wasn't a $250+ meal.
The halibut was sparse, with no real accompaniment, just a few green peas and string beans with absolutely no flavor. It was very bland. Without pepper on the table nor a server to ask, the dish was quite disappointing. The rib eye was enjoyable and came with well prepared fries.
We really were looking forward to this meal at the Roundhouse, but trust us - leave the hotel, explore the town of Beacon and find a good local spot to enjoy your date night. You'll get a much better experience for your money. We learned our lesson.
What a beautiful venue, incredible service (Ryan was awesome) and tasty fresh food. The waterfall scenery is spectacular!
A very pleasant farm to table restaurant with awesome ingredients. Have the rack of lamb. It's unforgettable.
Amazing food !! Great location !! Highly Recommended!!
We loved our first experience at The Roundhouse!!! The service and the food and the views were exceptional!
We had a great time! Loved the ambiance, great wine selection. We came during Restaurant Week - the food and value was good, but I wish we could have selected from the regular menu as well.
Service (Alissa) was great!
My boyfriend and I had the best experience we’ve ever had in our life. We decided we will be getting married there one day.
This was our first trip to The Roundhouse and it was to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our reservation was during Restaurant Week and we didn’t realize until we were seated that there was only a prefixed menu which wasn’t appealing. We moved to the lounge where there were more choices and had a nice meal. It was a bit noisy and some dishes were better than others. The view was gorgeous and we had a nice time.
We originally had reservations in the main restaurant but when we sat down to look at the menu, there were only three entrees. It was restaurant week and you could only order off the special menu. They let us know that we could go to the lounge with a full menu instead. Lounge was pretty and busy but no problem finding a table for four. We ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees. At 630 at night, before we ordered, they were already out of salmon, the only fish on the menu. How do you run out of salmon on a Saturday night at 630? We should have left then. We were about to experience the worst service we have ever experienced in a long time. It then took us 30 minutes to receive our drinks, after we pleaded with our waiter several times. We finally got our apps, 45 minutes after we ordered but the waiter never told us they ran out of one of the apps until he brought the other apps to the table. By then, there was no way we were going to ask for another one, since we were already 45 minutes into the evening. No bread. We only knew there was bread because other tables received it. Entrees finally came after 1 hour and 15 minutes. Two of us ordered burgers. One of the worst burgers either of us had but we were pretty hungry at that point and we were pretty forgiving. Finally received our second round of drinks after waiter came to us with only three out of the four drinks ordered and another long wait. Cappuccinos...good but it took another 30 minutes. Then the waiter disappeared again when trying to get a check. Worst service I can remember in along time. Worst food I've had in along time as well. Too bad. Beautiful location. Our second time there. There's a reason why I always see on open table availability of reservations. It was nothing special the first time we went and worse the second time around. We always tip very well...20% or higher...always. Last night...15%....and believe me....that was more than generous...never again....
Still trying too hard. Too salty, over priced for the quality. My burger was over cooked, sent it back and had to wait for a new one. My girlfriend and I both ate alone. No attempt to make up for the error and that's for a $18.00 small over salted burger. This was their last chance, never returning and will never suggest it to anyone.
Food was wonderful but service was spotty. We sat at the bar in the lounge for a cocktail before our meal and found the bar to be strictly a service bar with little atmosphere. We then went inside the dining room. We were asked if we wanted wine after our course came out and we had already ordered the wine before the course. Other than that the service could be a little tighter, but the food is fantastic specifically the pork belly and the honey, tea dessert panna cotta dessert.
Fantastic spot in BeaconNY. Great food and drinks, expertly prepared. Went 2x for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and the selection was excellent. I think most of the tables have nice view of the waterfall. Bar area is nice too, with fireplace seating. Highly recommended.
Me and my friends got to visit Die for the day. The roundhouse was a great way to end the day. They open at 5pm we got the best view in front of the waterfall. We got lucky since it was restaurant week we got a 3 course meal for around $40 per person tax and tip included.
Good value fine dining looking over a waterfall near Beacon. Very chic for the area. Good cocktails too.
Food very good. Ambiance interesting, old factory remodeled. View of water falls great. Service excellent; met special needs. Menu local and limited.
Me and my daughter stopped in for the first time and loved this place. It was elegant and the staff was very polite. Cocktails were fantastic. Dinner wvas plated perfectly and tasted fantastic and the desert was to die for. I loved sitting by the waterfall and watching as it got dark and the waterfall lit up. I also loved the bar setting and lighting. Very beautiful. If it was closer I would be in there every week meeting a friend for drinks and having dinner. What a great surprise.
Our food was good, the server very pleasant, but the whole experience was just eh. There are better places in town for brunch. The Roundhouse just has the view. But for brunch for 4 people that's over $100 (and we only had coffee to drink), it's just not worth it.
Great food and the service was excellent!
This distinctive looking location, overviewing a power waterfall, makes a really strong impression. The ambiance is outstanding. The food is creative and features local, seasonal ingredients. Very hip and chic. We all enjoyed our food, although some dishes appeared generous, while others were somewhat spare. Fun cocktails suggestions and a nice wine list.
Well plated and delicious farm-to-table dishes. Service can use improvement. We felt hurried in our meal and servers could not tell still from sparkling water.
The Roundhouse was a great spot for my boyfriend's birthday. We got a table right by the window with the falls beautifully light up at night. Overall, the food was great, the service was wonderful and very accommodating. I would recommend The Roundhouse to anyone looking for a spot for a special occasion!
Have Sunday brunch there yesterday, small selection brunch menu. Ordered a basket of bread, it was cold not warm. The omelette is limited to choose 2 items only out of 5 items. The omelette is small, taste is average. Also ordered a garden salad, it is average too.
We sit by the window and can enjoy the water view that’s it.
The servers are nice!
Great atmosphere great food, little disappointed on the drinks side menu in the lounge bar , great service
Our entire party loved the food they ordered. It varied from ribeye, ribs, duck, tuna and gnocchi. The food was delicious. The waitress was great. We were not rushed. We were able to relax and enjoy the evening. It was more than just dinner it was an evening of conversation with food!!! We all would go back!
Everything was excellent!!! And the service 5 star . lara the waitress was formidable!
We loved our meal - and the view could not have been better. The entrees were exceptional but the desert was disappointing. I should have stuck with the tasty cocktails! The appetizer (while delicious!) was overpriced.
Lovely brunch , gorgeous waterfall view
One star - for the lovely staff and view. The food however, inedible. I have never sent a dish back, but did so today after ordering the ramen and receiving a raw clump of noodles. On its return, the broth - which was at first mild and rich - was so spicy and full of chilli it was utterly inedible. And I love spicy food. We were still charged in full for the meal which was sent back mostly uneaten and with complaint. Please don't bother yourself by wasting your money here - instead, enjoy the view from the bridge and wander up to Ella Bella's for a meal at a quarter of the price that is immeasurably better.
We loved the Menu options. We went for brunch and showed up at about 3 o’clock. This may have not been the best time to come though. Service lacked and we waited quite a while for food and drinks. They seemed busy setting up for the dinner service. We did love that overall though.
A great surprise. Wonderful setting, super friendly but non-obtrusive staff, and completely delicious. And, special note, do not miss the pork cheeks first course with wild mushrooms and polenta. Best I’ve ever had.
Everything was excellent - food, wine, service, ambiance. The chef accommodated by Gluten Free requests and my friend and I enjoyed a sensational meal.
Having enjoyed Picholine and Artisanal, we made the trek to Beacon to celebrate my wife's birthday... and were underwhelmed. Upon arriving we requested to be seated at a window table, as they have a nice view of the water feature, but were told that those tables were reserved for parties of 4 only. No big deal, I thought. The hostess proceeded to seat no fewer than 5 tables of 2 at the windows during the our meal which was very perplexing. The manager explained that she had no idea what she was talking about and comped us a round of drinks but it was still pretty awkward. Unfortunately, the service didn't really improve from there. I think the roundhouse would benefit from some intensive dining room training to ensure that attention to detail and timing issues are improved.
Had high hopes but probably won't be making the trip up to Roundhouse again or recommending it.
Stunning restaurant & lounge, great service, and amazing food. The scallop appetizer was one of the best things I've eaten in some time. Duck was also fantastic. Large wine list, and the local selections were great as well.
My friends and I enjoyed a fantastic beautifully plated meal by Chef Walter. It was as delicious as it looked. The AnestasiA Vodka cocktails prepared by The Manager Joshua were delicious as well. They were pretty to look as well as yummy to drink. Our overall all experience was just great. I recommend all to come out and enjoy an evening of fine dining on the Beacon Waterfall.
The food was very good! The cocktails were delicious and creative. The service however was just terrible! Staff really needs to be more polished, professional, and attentive!
It happened to be Restaurant Week, so the menu was set. A good strategy, but it did limit choice. The room is fantastic and my request for a seat by the window was honored. One of the most beautiful restaurant settings in the tri-state area. Appetizers were excellent. The main courses (chicken and cod) were generous and very good, although I had to send my fish back as it was cold all the way through. The server handled it with grace and it was return heated in a reasonable amount of time. Deserts were outstanding - chocolate combo for me, pumpkin combo for her. Each plate had four elements which was very impressive. Service was friendly, professional and unhurried.
Overall, an excellent dining experience.
