About The Roundhouse
Our restaurant is farm-inspired and features whole farm cuisine and the agricultural richness of the Hudson Valley. We are passionately committed to sustainability and supporting local farms, wineries, distilleries, cideries and all of the amazing food and beverage craftsmen of the Hudson Valley.
Tables of all sizes are available throughout our spacious, stunning dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows and waterfall views. Guests can also dine in our adjoining cozy lounge, which is open year round, or on the lively outdoor patio, open Spring – Fall, weather permitting.
Our singular name represents several masterfully restored buildings that offer a full-service experience beyond just dining, including a boutique hotel and popular event space that holds up to 200 guests.

We have three large lots for parking adjacent to the main Roundhouse building on the opposite side of the creek. Look for our driveway just to the right of the bridge on East Main Street in Beacon.
The first is a smaller lot, immediately to your right as you enter from East Main Street. If this lot is full, continue up the drive and look for our two larger lots at the top of the hill on your right.

Having enjoyed Picholine and Artisanal, we made the trek to Beacon to celebrate my wife's birthday... and were underwhelmed. Upon arriving we requested to be seated at a window table, as they have a nice view of the water feature, but were told that those tables were reserved for parties of 4 only. No big deal, I thought. The hostess proceeded to seat no fewer than 5 tables of 2 at the windows during the our meal which was very perplexing. The manager explained that she had no idea what she was talking about and comped us a round of drinks but it was still pretty awkward. Unfortunately, the service didn't really improve from there. I think the roundhouse would benefit from some intensive dining room training to ensure that attention to detail and timing issues are improved.
Had high hopes but probably won't be making the trip up to Roundhouse again or recommending it.
My friends and I enjoyed a fantastic beautifully plated meal by Chef Walter. It was as delicious as it looked. The AnestasiA Vodka cocktails prepared by The Manager Joshua were delicious as well. They were pretty to look as well as yummy to drink. Our overall all experience was just great. I recommend all to come out and enjoy an evening of fine dining on the Beacon Waterfall.
It happened to be Restaurant Week, so the menu was set. A good strategy, but it did limit choice. The room is fantastic and my request for a seat by the window was honored. One of the most beautiful restaurant settings in the tri-state area. Appetizers were excellent. The main courses (chicken and cod) were generous and very good, although I had to send my fish back as it was cold all the way through. The server handled it with grace and it was return heated in a reasonable amount of time. Deserts were outstanding - chocolate combo for me, pumpkin combo for her. Each plate had four elements which was very impressive. Service was friendly, professional and unhurried.
Overall, an excellent dining experience.
The Roundhouse has a bank of windows looking out onto the beautiful, spot lit waterfalls. We had a nice dinner there during restaurant week, meaning we ate from a fixed menu. The food and service were good. If you want a romantic, special occasion place, this is it.
This is a great example of a place that could be fantastic if they did one thing differently. Hire some experienced staff. Instead, everyone is very inexperienced and service suffers terribly. It appears that saving a few bucks on staff is more important than great service.
It was a memorable night we love all the food and drinks. Our waitress was a sweetheart the only awkward moment was at our arrival I had made reservation for our anniversary and they sat us at the table and never went back to offer us menu or a welcoming introduction to such an amazing place, later on (after my husband went for menus) we got noticed and tend the rest of the night and from then on everything all the way til dessert was sublime
The served me a completely over salted scallop for $18. It was inedible. When I told them, instead of offering to take it off the bill, they gave us a “free” dessert of their own choosing that was also not good and I never would have ordered.
THEN they served me a chicken dish with raw chicken in it. I pointed this out to our waiter and once again they did not remove from our bill, they instead made a new order of the same chicken dish. Which needless to say I was suspicious of.
No restaurant should serve raw chicken. And a restaurant at this price point especially. I will never eat here again and I don’t believe anyone else should either.
I made reservations a few weeks in advance as my husband and I were celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary. I requested a table with a view of the waterfall. The Roundhouse did not disappoint! Not only did we get a great table, but upon checking our reservation they congratulated us on our anniversary and once we were seated, they sent over two glasses of Prosecco for us to enjoy.
Dinner and ambience were spot on and upon finishing our entree and before our dessert, the hostess brought over a special anniversary dessert for us as well.
The staff was terrific and quite hospitable. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family and I know my husband and I will be dining there again.

Me and my girlfriend came here for dinner. The food was delicious, but the staff was very disorganized and almost rude.
The first problem was that when we ordered Tea with Honey they brought us a tiny amount of Honey and claimed that they are out of Honey. No restaurant should run out of basic thing like honey at 6:30 pm.
The second problem was with the wait staff. We ordered from the prix fix menu and first they forgot to being us dessert leaving us sitting there for over 20 minutes wondering what's going on. Then they simply brought the check and we complained. We finally got our desert and the waitress then brought the check without even asking us if we wanted anything else.
I would not recommend this place. Spend your money elsewhere.
$100 wasted. From the get go this place felt like an overpriced steakhouse, fake money inside and poor service. It took us 15 minutes to get a glass of water and took over 30 minutes just to see a menu! The waitress asked us what we'd like to drink without even showing us a menu! She then gave us the drink menu without the dinner menu asking us if we'd like to have some drinks and take our time before ordering our food?? From there I knew this service was going to take forever. The only saving grace this place has is the food, which the chefs did a great job on. Sadly though I won't be returning here due to the poor service and management. I've heard from locals that this is no surprise as management has had overturn frequently over the last year. So this review is for people thinking of trying this place for the first time. All in all you can find just as good food and much better service elsewhere spending the same amount of money. Giving it to this establishment is like flushing it down the toilet.
Really like the food and ambience but the service is slow, choppy and the waitresses try to be formal but are not very knowledgeable about the food. They race around a bit and clear things a little rough. If they can add some staff warmth and smoother service it will be a top restaurant.
We were not greeted at the front desk by a host or hostess, which was awkward. We were offered a table outside or inside by one of the waitstaff. Once seated we felt comfortable and had a view of the lighted falls. Our aerver was pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu and made suggestions. The orzo/ mushroom app was delicious. My wife had the black sea bass that was delecate with nicely prepared skin intact. The sunchokes were a nice surprise flavor and texture. I had the ribeye with bone marrow chimichura which was cooked perfectly. The portion sizes were appropriate to be able to order and enjoy dessert. The pavlova was light and fresh, the macaroons were tasty but a little dry and flacky.
Overall a delicious and flavorful dinner greatly enjoyed!
This was our third trip to The Roundhouse. Each time it was delicious. Be prepared for an eclectic menu and to try something new. The view of the illuminated falls out the window is a special touch. On our most recent visit, we spied Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian enjoying a meal with his family. The Roundhouse is so good, it attracted one of the best chefs in the country!
We went to celebrate a special occasion ( the engagement of dear friends) and intended to have the tasting menu for our party of 4. We were VERY disappointed that the tasting menu was not being offered nor was the regular menu available- only the patio grill menu. While I understand that it was a weeknight- there was no indication when we booked the dinner that the menu would be restricted.
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The view, especially from the terrace, is spectacular. You are facing a lovely waterfall, which provides an amazing setting for the meal. The meal itself was somewhat disappointing. We ordered pasta, duck and fish. The pasta was tasty, but nothing extraordinary. The duck was not great at all. It was not seared and the skin was chewy and unpleasant. The fish was bland, but accompanied by tasty mushrooms. Deserts were tasty, but tiny. Overall, it is a pleasant experience, but not worth the high cost due to a rather flavorless meal.
Excellent food and beautiful ambiance, but service needs some polish
Overall a great experience, but there were some issues with the service. Wine glasses continued to accumulate on our table throughout the night. Our entrees took nearly an hour to come out after multiple claims that they were being checked on. It was also incredibly dark on the patio (candles on the table could have made all the difference). The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and out and the food quality matches. I just hope they iron out some of the service issues.
Good food, very very poor service. The service was slow, our wine was poorly timed - we had to ask for it to be replenished 2 times, the two tables beside us were left uncleaned for one hour each, the music was inappropriate for the space, dinner came prior to silver being placed and we didn't receive the wine we ordered until ¾ through our appetizer.
Was super excited to make the trip up and finally try the Roundhouse.
It seemed the perfect place for a special occasion birthday dinner. Location is beautiful. Waitstaff was very courteous upon arrival. Unfortunately, that is where it all ends. Cocktails and apps were ordered and the whole thing fell apart. Apps came out and still no drinks, not even water. Trying to flag the waiter was near impossible.
Entrees were mediocre at best. Duck was incredibly tough- almost inedible. Portions were tiny. Octopus app was decent. All entrees were tasteless and indescribable. (Rice Bowl, Salmon and a fish special).
We were offered bread- it never arrived. Ordered a glass of wine with dinner. Never arrived. Told the waiter that we were celebrating a birthday, were never given a dessert menu. We were finally brought the glass of wine when we asked for the check. Thank goodness because our water glasses were never refilled. Not once. So disappointing. Location alone could make this a really great Hudson Valley destination. Absolutely the WORST birthday meal. EVER.
Let me preface this review by saying the cocktails were AMAZING! Now with that being said, the rest was sub par. The food wasn't worth the price. The service was horrible. For the amount of money they charged, no one should have to wait 40 minutes for a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. I know you're supposed to have a "dining experience" with this type of restaurant, but I think 3 hours is a little excessive.
Also, if you have multiple events occurring at once, along with patrons in the restaurants, make sure that your bathrooms are clean and have adequate amounts of paper products. If I'm spending $11.00 on dessert I would expect a clean bathroom and some toilet paper! The only thing I would recommend here is to go to the bar, order a couple of amazing cocktails and maybe an appetizer. Don't waste your time at the restaurant.
I want to love this place due to the amazing ambience but the food is overpriced and either tiny portions or poorly prepared dishes. I've come back twice now since the new chef started. I live in Manhattan with a weekend house in the area, and eat out a lot. I'd love for this place to get it together. For now, I'lll stick with cocktails only.
gorgeous setting, wonderful server, great food. however- literally had to wait over an hour for our food to come out. it was honestly shocking. it was my mom's 78th birthday and it really just ruined it. we were freezing by the time it finally came out, and everyone was beyond hungry. really just too long- over an hour? and we got apologies but no explanation- it really wasn't all that busy. our server was great, the view can't be beat, the bar was fun.... everything except that ungodly wait for our food. i was so disappointed for my mom's big night.
Our server, Zachary, was terrific! The perfect balance between friendly and business. He was knowledgable about all aspects of the menu, as well as the wine list. He was able to recommend local attractions and hiking spots. The octopus appetizer was perfect. The salmon entree was the very first time I've ever eaten perfectly cooked salmon in a restaurant!
