The Rotunda specializes in evening events including wedding receptions, corporate and convention dinners, cocktail parties, rehearsal dinners and holiday parties. Holiday parties are especially beautiful with the four story Neiman Marcus Holiday Tree rising up through the restaurant. The floor to ceiling windows offer guests an intimate bird's eye view of Union Square.
Private party facilities
The Rotunda can accommodate up to 160 seated guests with a dance floor, 200 seated and 225 standing for evening events. There is a private elevator on Geary Street that takes guests directly to the restaurant after the store is closed.

The Rotunda is a lovely historic setting, and the dining room is well cared for, with an express elevator from the street making access easy. Our waiter Thomas was solicitous and efficient. The menu is a little limited, but more than adequate for the three of us each to select something that appeals. The portions were generous, and the food presented nicely. Freshness and flavor contributed to the pleasant meal. The room has a little restaurant buzz and hum, but not objectionably so. Even though we're an aging crowd, we were easily able to converse and catch up with our friend from out of town. Well worth a return visit for a special occasion.

Our group met for a business lunch with a client from Hong Kong. The service was lovely, the ambiance classic SF upscale charming and the food was fantastic. I have to learn how to dill pickle apples for my salmon. It was so delicious. This is a great place to host a business lunch. Your clients will be impressed, and the staff did not rush us at all. We had another colleague join us after lunch for coffee, and our waiter delighted our last guest with coffee and a popover with strawberry butter (delivered with luch, but wonderful that she was able to snack on something). So nice! Thank you @Charlie!

The rotunda is a stunning place to have afternoon tea or lunch, like I enjoyed with my significant other on my birthday. We went for afternoon tea and sadly the food is pretty subpar. There was also a piece of hair on our first set, but we noticed before we ate anything and they quickly brought a replacement. The savory sandwiches were of the same quality as premade sandwiches at safeway. The scones were pretty good but it’s hard to go wrong there. And the little sweets were ok but very sweet. The little chicken consommé courtesy of the chef was good. The space itself is beautiful but considering what you’re paying the food does not match that standard. The linens also weren’t super clean, there were stains on the table linen as well as on the linen napkins.

We dine at The Rotunda frequently. They never disappoint and the service is friendly, professional, and on point. Never have to flag any of our servers down to ask for anything. The other workers helping out are on point filling up the water glasses, taking away dishes, and do ask if we need anything. I usually ask for window seating when making a reservation but this latest reservation I did not. When we arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes early they accommodated my request and seated us by the window. Outstanding!

Our waitress neglected me and my guest. We waited for her to come to our table but instead she attended the table right next to us about 3 times before me having to wave her down because she would leave to other tables. I understand it gets busy but seeing her cater to the table right next to us showed us she had the opportunity to turn around and check in on us. This was the only part that dampened our experience. It was a nice place but I think we deserved better service.

As all of my past experiences, it was lovely. The service, food, ambiance and pleasant atmosphere. Hope to return soon. When I told my friend from Seattle about it she made me promise to take her here on her next visit.

The Rotunda specializes in evening events including wedding receptions, corporate and convention dinners, cocktail parties, rehearsal dinners and holiday parties. Holiday parties are especially beautiful with the four story Neiman Marcus Holiday Tree rising up through the restaurant. The floor to ceiling windows offer guests an intimate bird's eye view of Union Square.
Private party facilities
The Rotunda can accommodate up to 160 seated guests with a dance floor, 200 seated and 225 standing for evening events. There is a private elevator on Geary Street that takes guests directly to the restaurant after the store is closed.
