Food was wonderful, I would like to see more variety on the menu but what we got was very good. The painkiller cocktail was perfect. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive.

I have eaten at The Root many times and loved the food and service. I was meeting some friends that I do not see very often and suggested The Root. They had to drive along way to get there.
2 if us ordered the pork chop and one the shrimp dish. The food was VERY disappointing. They tasted like food reheated from the day before. Way over done. I will still recommend The Root , since I have had good experiences there in the past. But one more meal like that and I will not return.

Maybe it was a Sunday night with not too many customers, but there were no other potato to order along with our grass fed burger, because I was gluten free. No mashed, no baked, no other veggie was offered except for arugula but I was ordering a salad anyway. And I thought the bday dessert was complimentary, but it wasn't and I didn't say anything about it, but it bothered me afterwards. I have always loved the Root, but I don't want to go there any time soon

Dinner was fabulous. Thank you to the chef. We had ribeye steak with mushrooms and bleu cheese mousse, au gratin potatoes and greens. Every bite was delectable. Very generous portions, Our waitress was very attentive. Also free dessert for our Anniversary (Peach Pie with Chantilly cream) so delicious . Very pleasant atmosphere for a romantic evening out.

Great atmosphere, enjoyed the setting. Waitress was nice but not exceptional. Seemed irritated. Fish portion was very small and over cooked/dry. Sloppy joe was also dry. Desserts were great! Tiramisu was outstanding. I probably wouldn’t return because there were more cons than pros.

My friend had the pork chop that was on the menu. It was overcooked and dry. The waiter took it back and brought her another one a while later and it was much better. I had the sloppy Jo and remembered it from the past and was looking forward to it. It was dry there was no sauce on it And I was very disappointed. I did not mention it because we had already sent back the pork chop. We both had the onion soup and it was delicious.

Wow! Let me start by saying we are usually disappointed when we go out to brunch. So we were hesitant to try "yet another" restaurant that claims it can "do a great brunch." We loved it. It was simple. It was perfect. Our bartender started us out with peach mango mimosas. We then moved on to the lavender honey spelt pancakes with honey walnut butter. It all went down beautifully and we had the best waiter in the place -- attentive and polite. We're coming back more often!

My wife and I came here for our anniversary dinner. One of the nice things was to see how many of the items were locally sourced or from the State. I had the NY strip which was done to the temperature I ordered and served with a side of mustard greens, which were outstanding. My wife had the scallops and a salad. The scallops were cooked nicely but the flavors weren't out of this world, but still delicious. I would say this is a nice restaurant overall and we would definitely eat here again a nod suggest it to others. Our service was spectacular!

Amazing as always! One of our favorite places to dine. We had guests in town from England and of course we had to bring them to the root! Our guests own two successful restaurants in England and were delighted with the offerings at the root, so much so that they felt obligated to thank the chef personally for the meal.

Simply cannot go wrong at the root !

The service was great, our wait staff were always there when we needed more coffee, etc. The food was good, but the tofu scramble could have been better. (It was a bit over salted and I prefer the tofu more "scrambled" as opposed to bigger chunks, and I also like more of a turmeric flavor, but overall it was still good). My wife had the biscuits and gravy, which she said was good, but also a bit over salted. I also had the vegan pop tart which was very good! I just wish there were more brunch vegan options. (Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you HAVE options, but if you're going to go there, dive all in :) ... maybe vegan pancakes, tempeh with biscuits and gravy, crepes, etc...).

Oh, one more thing... they were playing old hard rock, which was odd for brunch. Not bad, just odd... :)

We went to the Root for a late Sunday brunch. The menu is quite unique. I had the tofu scramble and my boyfriend had the quiche. We both cleaned our plates. The only disappointment was that they were out of the cinnamon roll, which I really wanted to try for dessert.
