The atmosphere and view of the temple are great whether you are LDS or not. While the service was good, and we had a great date night with good noise level for intimate conversation, the food was truly a disappointment. It is difficult to justify a high price with any buffet style dinner menu, unless you offer fantastic food. This was just regular buffet food with a high price. Reminds us of the Eiffel Tower restaurant in Vegas with a beautiful interior and a great view of the strip, but they can save money on the food because their guests are distracted by the glitz.

Dinner was fabulous! We enjoyed the delicious prime rib, ham, salads and soups. We especially enjoyed the desserts! The bread pudding with caramel sauce is the best!

The view was amazing, the staff was wonderful and the food was great. Saw earlier reviews critical of the food and have no clue what they ate but the prime rib I ate May have been the best I have ever eaten. Will definitely be back.

Loved the view from our window seat. The staff were happy and intergenic. The food was on point and the drinks were above par. The flowers were on the table per our conversation. We really loved Heather on the piano and she one hundred percent made the difference in our experience. Amazing music picks from Chopin to David Lanz to the man from snowy river... SHE WAS AMAZING!! Our server engaged Us in conversation and had a real nice Personal Touch. It was a perfect night in every way.

I treated my boyfriend to the Anniversary Inn and The Roof for his birthday. The food was delicious and they gave my boyfriend a special dessert for his birthday. He loved it and I loved it!

Lovely venue. Waiter Dereck was terrific. So was the piano player Beck. It is a bit too pricey for an evening meal with my daughter. Even with the 20 percent off as a COB hostess, it was $90. Really a lot on a retirement budget. But the food was excellent.

The rolls were not great, mashed potatoes were bland, veggies were either crunchy or very soft, pasta was over cooked, salad bar was good, dessert tasted store bought. Very conservative location, great view of the capital and temple, no alcohol. For the price and quality, I don't think we would go back.

Food was such a huge disappointment. Kabobs, steak couldn't even chew it. Vegetables old. Penne Pasta so overcooked. Desserts looked pretty but cheap and not good tasting. Garden Room from now on. It was our anniversary celebration. Waiter was fabulous.

Great view, good food, nice atmosphere, good service. A little expensive but worth it. Let them know if it's a special occasion when you make the reservations they go out of the way to make it special for your party.

Had the worst possible table I think, couldn't take any good pics from there, of course that is the less important.
I found a hair in my food and the only fix was our server saying, let me take that away from you... Nothing else.
There was flies at least around our table and for the price of almost 50 dollars per person anyone would expect a different dinning experience...
The views around the restaurant are quite nice..
Don't think I would recommend nor come back.

Thank you

Really fun place to go for special occasions. Romantic and a great view - which is the main reason to go.
The food is decent but overpriced. The selection is okay, but the prime rib has always been very rare.
The tables for two are very small, if you get the flowers they will take over your table.
It’s kind of an odd choice to have it as a buffet. I think I’d enjoy it more as a regular menu restaurant.

The steak we had was exceptional. The rest of the food was excellent as well, but the steak was my favorite. There's always prime rib to choose from too, which was pretty tasty. I just wished I would have had more room to try more of the desserts, but I filled myself up too much with the delicious entrees they had.

The people (our server, hostess, meat handlers etc.) were all very kind. We were placed by the window, which was wonderful since we were celebrating our anniversary. The piano music was calming. The temple view was magnificent. It was a wonderful evening. Thank you!

We love The Roof. This occasion the piano was nice but played very loud. We had a hard time having conversation. Also, we did have to wait too long to have our drinks refilled. Lastly, I personally would enjoy more hot vegetables. Cold artichoke salad is not that appealing to me.

You go there for the view and ambiance. The rather good food is a bonus. And, if you have a good appetite, this might be one of the best bargains in Salt Lake City. No alcohol, tea or coffee doesn't really detract from the experience. This was a worthy choice.

My wife and I were in town for a conference. We took a city tour and the guide recommended sunset dinner at the Rooftop. We had a great time and a wonderful view. The food was good, nice variety. My wife appreciated the GF signs on the food. (She didn't see any signs on the desserts though, minor deduction since all looked delicious).

The. best view in the city of the temple and sunset is at this restaurant. It was simply amazing. The food on the other hand was the worst by far I've ever had. It was terrible. Especially for $40 per person. At that price, I expected something that would at least be decent. The rolls tasted like they just bought a bunch of prebaked rolls and just warmed them up. The chicken florentine seemed as if they bought it from Walmart from the frozen food section. And don't get me started on the "mashed potatoes". How the heck do you mess up mashed potatoes. They had the consistency of grits, which I've never seen before. I beg you, please don't go here if you're hungry. But if you're new to town and would love to see the temple and sunset with the best view, it's the perfect place to be. I ended up spending $140 on that terrible food for my birthday girl and I.

It was our second time to eat there, we enjoyed it both, times, the flank steak was a bit chewy...but everything else was fabulous..."Pina Colada Fish" was the best, the Prime Rib was perfect, & the BBQ Ribs were Smokin'...We just were married and it was a Great Honeymoon Dinner...The service was 5 Star, we will be making it a return visit on All Special Events...

I loved the feel of the restaurant. Everything is beautiful and well thought-out. The view, of course, is amazing, and the servers are friendly. The food tastes like good, homemade, real food. The Oreo white chocolate mousse cake was my favorite. It is a buffet, not what I had expected when I first heard of the Roof. But the best part is the live piano music-it's familiar, beautifully arranged and excellently played.
