Lunch at the Tavern was everything we were led to expect it to be - and more! Service was flawless, our meals were excellently cooked and prepared and attractively presented. If anything, the quantity of food was a tad more than I am used to for lunch, but that is hardly anything to complain about. As far as value goes, considering the quality of the food and service, the cost was quite reasonable. In fact, I had expected the bill to be somewhat more than it was. We ate a late lunch on a mid-week afternoon and, as expected, the noise level was low. I cannot speak to what it might be at other times, but it was quite comfortable when we were there. We were delighted with the experience and hope to re-live it soon.

Fantastic food and service! The crab cake and oyster po-boy are fabulous, and the sticky toffee pudding, created by the British born and trained chef, is a revelation! Don’t miss it! Finally, to add to the sweetness of the meal, the staff will treat you like family. Run don’t walk to the Inn!

WE waited 25 minutes for a server to come to our table. Our food was good however for a Eastern Shore restaurant the menu was very limiter in seafood selections. the ladies room needs to be updated. The servers were poorly dressed. The inn has a feeling of not being kept up. We were very disapointed. We would not recomened the Robert Morris INN. When the Gibsons owned the Inn it was first class.

The pork tenderloin is excellent. Portions of all dishes are quite large; fortunately they did not enforce their policy of extra charges for splitting orders. The service is less formal than the food. We sat in a booth which allowed for easy conversation.

This historic Inn is a gem and the food is top notch. Our party enjoyed the pork entree, burger, fish and chips, curry, filet, and salmon - everyone enjoyed their meals! We all ordered desserts to share and the sticky toffee pudding was a fan fav, but also rivaled by the Smith Island cake and pavlova. We love bringing our friends here when they visit us in St. Michaels. We take the Bellevue Oxford ferry over for dinner and then make the drive home after. It never disappoints. Also, Kane, our server, was very attentive and professional.

Sitting outside overlooking the Tred Avon is never a bad way to spend an afternoon with friends and family. We were surprised that it was not packed on a Labor Day weekend. Our service was good, maybe a little slow. The crab cake was average. Smith Island cake, sticky toffee pudding and peach and blueberry crumble are worth the drive.

Traditional restaurant in historic building with cuisine to match. Standard regional dishes with delicious exotic touches. Superb soups - especially the rich crab chowder. Perfect salmon over Asian rice. My wife’s shrimp dish a bit bland. Good regional deserts. Moderately priced wines. Ample seating. Fairly low lighting. It’s a tavern and restaurant. Comfortable correct service and pace. Surely we shall return.

The Robert Morris Inn is one of Oxford's many treasures--feel the history as you dine in Salters Tavern. A convivial pub where it's good to socialize with friends and neighbors and delight on delicious offerings. An especially good value on Thursday dining is their half price bottled wine. To top off a great experience, service is always friendly and efficient.

Chef Mark Salter never disappoints! His rock fish combination of salt, savory, sweet, & hot was excellent. The mix of spinach and chard under the fish was done perfectly. His gazpacho is our favorite and the grilled watermelon salad was delicious. Always outstanding. We will miss him!

We had an amazing dinner at the Robert Morris Inn for our anniversary. I ordered a glass of wine & my husband had a mixed drink. We shared the Eastern Shore crab salad appetizer, which is lump crab rolled in paper thin cucumber slices. It was yummy and the presentation was beautiful. I had the shrimp curry (some of the best I have ever eaten) and my husband enjoyed fish & chips. We shared a slice of Smith Usland cake for dessert, and then walked down to the Oxfird harbor to enjoy the sunset.

We had a delicious meal - appetizers, salad, main course and desserts. The food was delicious. I always love their curry dishes and the pavlova is to die for! The staff are always very attentive, and "Alana" was excellent.

I don’t know where to start. They closed, in high season on Saturday night, at 8:00pm. What high-end restaurant does that? Our reservation was at 6:00pm for 4 people. Beautiful old inn with white tablecloths on the tables. Dinner started with the waitress pouring my water, overfilling my glass and saying ‘damn these pitchers are hard to pour’. She took our order and after the drinks were served we had to repeat it because she had it confused. After finishing one bottle of wine for 4 people we asked for another and our waitress disappeared for half an hour. I had to ask another waitress to get her for us. We had finished eating by the time she finally showed up and we told her not to bring the second bottle. I asked for coffee with Kahlua and the Kahlua came in a cute little glass but it was spilled all over the outside of the glass and base. After dessert, she brought the bill and said the register shuts off at 8:00pm so she could not ring up our drinks so we got our 1 bottle of wine for free. We got 3 Rockfish specials and those cost over $120.00 which meant the special was over $40 each, more than the beef tenderloin on the menu. Then I had to go to the bathroom and had people ask me if I was done yet and they literally had to unlock the main door to let me out they had already closed the restaurant by 8:10. The sad thing is the food was delicious, I understand it is a 5-star chef. The old inn room we were in was lovely, it is the oldest inn in the USA. How sad it is so poorly managed, I will never go back.
