Lovely surroundings with Xmas decorations everywhere but the service and food was not perfect enough for a Michelin star. Our main course of Brill was undercooked in the middle and my husband’s mackerel starter was too small and not great either. The soufflés with Armagnac and prune ice cream were huge and lovely although some caramelised pears with it would have made it even nicer. The wine list is very expensive too and they did not have the Picpoul that we ordered. We were offered another Italian wine, but it was no match so we ordered a more expensive South African Sauvignon Blanc instead. The complimentary dessert wine, the canapés and sweets were nice extras.
Finally, the staff were very rushed and not that well organised, so service was not up to scratch. This was not helped by the fact that the restaurant was full and there was also a large family group near us, babies and buggies too!
40th wedding anniversary dinner. Went with the 6 course menu with fine wines, excellent from start to finish.
Very knowledgeable waiters and sommeliers on the food and wine. Location really outstanding.
Well worth the money to help celebrate with the one(s) you love and care for.
The finest dining experience ever! Chef's surprise 6+ courses with fine wines, piano string quartet with singer. Where else would you find this ambience and delicious food? Far exceeded our expectations.
FOOD, SERVICE AND WINE WERE EXCELLENT,RESTAURANT FIRST CLASS, ALL VERY CLEAN AND TIDY.
The waiters in the restaurant was not really pay attention with us as we notice they always asked other customer want some more bread but they didn't asked us .. Probably we are Chinese that y they no bother at all .. But at the end we also left some tips for them ..
We had the set lunch menu which was beautifully cooked and very well presented with some excellent sauces. The service was impeccable! All that, together with the lovely surroundings, made it into a very memorable occasion. We shall certainly come again.
Excellent dinner with pairing wines in a musical ambiance
Fantastic venue, really good staff but food and wine expensive so you need a special occasion or be related to the Agar Khan. The five of us chose from the a la carte menu and all were pleased with the choices. Food was not that memorable but was presented with a lot of flair so we felt cherished.
Classic food in a classic environment. Expect high class but unflashy food. Expect excellent service but high prices - especially the wine list. Tables well spaced out so good for conversation. Good to do once in a while for a special occasion, such as great uncle George's 90th birthday.
Still the most beautiful room in London, though nowadays the liveried service seems not as polished as it once was. Clunkiness and loud intramural discussions seem the norm. Likewise, the food, though elegantly presented, was not as good to eat as to visually admire. Withal, it is an excellent experience which fades only when compared to the magnificent past represented by its regal pricing.
Disappointed at Sunday roast quality. Brand is first class, however I wouldn't say food quality is first class.
Being visitors we were a little lost. We were told to go to the end of the hall however the lecturn was unattended. Went back to Ravoli Bar and told to go back to the door. Again unattended, we decided to try again to have a drink in the bar. They were good cocktails. We then had dinner. Crab shell in the entree. Local lobster was delicious. However the server seemed disinterested and clumsy. We Even had to pour our champagne after having empty glasses for a long time. Desert was ok. Not worth the money paid expected better service and better food. However wanted to experience The Ritz Restaurant and did so.
It's one of the most special dining rooms in London. Some of the formality has eased over the years but the food and service remain impeccable.
Wonderful lunch with the best service in London
Out of time ... had we entered a time capsule or had we inadvertently walked on the set of BBC's recent dramatisation of Poliakoff's Close to the Enemy? The musicians played a selection from the likes of South Pacific, the King and I ... heard some similar stuff done a bit better a couple of days later at Park Chinois - what is it with london and it's time warp? Fiod of the era too -,Baked Alaska, Beef Wellington, etc, how the memory plays tricks. Beautiful room (in need of a loving refurbishment) completely outshone by the Great Gallery.
First time visiting the ritz and my word it was amazing, you simply cannot fault the service, the food or the general experience.
We were treated like royalty when we came in, the waiter was fantastic and the sommelier had excellent taste in wine.
The food was superb and completely blew me away, we went for the chefs tasting menu and whilst pricey with wine it has to be the best meal I've ever had.
The cost is high and you do have to dress in and dining jacket but it's a small price to pay.
My wife and I had a truly amazing lunch we were made to feel welcome and special. The dining room looked beautiful and service, food and ambience was perfect we would not hesitate in recommending the Ritz.
Amazing experience, very elegant, professional, friendly staff, amazing food, five star.
Service was perfect, food was perfect, lovely dining ambiance, pleasant experience.
Nice evening for conversation over good food
Given the range of food allergies our family presented with, the staff were amazing, catering to each individuals needs admirably. The food was fantastic and the setting was wonderful. What a brilliant way to start the New Year!
Lunch at The Ritz had to be done at least once and although a pricey affair, it did not disappoint. Eating in a setting so steeped in history and eating traditional British fare exquisitely presented in the dining room as opposed to the more crowded afternoon tea section felt very special. We had two young kids and were pleased a kids menu was an offer. They also catered well for my dairy intolerance. I recommend the steak on the set menu, the croque Monsieur starter and the soufflé for dessert. The bathroom was a treat for the kids too!
Lovely food in an amazing dining room. We had the Menu Surprise with the accompanying fine wines. Some of the wines were unusual choices but we were asked if we wanted to try new things.
Service was impeccable and food was beautiful and delicious.
I can't wait to go again!
I would give 6 stars if there is an option for it.
Food is average amongst Michelin one starred restaurants. Excellent atmosphere.
A fantastic place to treat your loved ones, special occations and celebrations. Wonderful ambiance and superb service. Drinks were lovely made and tasted great. Food was average and little bit dull, but wasn`t playing the main part at all in this fantastic performance.
I am beyond disappointed with the performance of this restaurant. In a 5 star hotel you'd expect the best of service any staff can offer. Me and the rest of my family were refused service due to our outfits, even after putting on the more formal clothing they provided us with. Not to mention the majority of the staff was overwhelmingly impolite.
Service was great and food was excellent. Loved the band and singer they had playing. Only thing that was a little strange was how bright is was in the restaurant at 9pm. Would think the lights would have been dimmed a little. Looking forward to returning to this restaurant again, it was delicious!
Wonderful experience as always. Great service, wonderful food what more one ask
The staff's never help us to take a picture.
Level has gone down compared to the past.
I am wondering why the restaurant has not at least one Michelin star: all is perfect. Absolutely to recommend for a special occasion.
The Ritz was elegant and the ambiance superb, especially the flags in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday. The dining room was decorated with style and luxury. The food was absolutely delicious and there were fantastic sauces to go with the crayfish and the lobster. It was a pity that the waiter poured water into a full wine glass and that I had to ask for petit fours with my coffee. The service was rather slow but the waitersaddressed us by name and were friendly.
A totally satisfactory experience. My guests were very, very impressed and described it as an amazing experience. The music was wonderful and the food, simply divine.
I have been too the Ritz on many occasions, this time I was with my new partner, and it was absolutely magical, the food was amazing as always, the staff were excellent, and next month i will be back for dinner. On my own, and know i will be looked after, and made welcomed.
Always a great experience. Traditional fine dining the way it used to be.
From the moment of our arrival, we knew we were in for a treat. We had booked lunch in the fabulous dining room to celebrate an anniversary. Staff were professional and courteous at all times. Our meal was superb - every course carefully selected - prepared and served with great care, with some fabulous wines to match. The Ritz team deserve to be congratulated.
I found the restaurant totally overpriced. The food is ok. The service was also ok. However the ambience is definitely 5 stars so I suppose this is what we are paying.
excellant atmosphere and service. Special treat highly recommended make sure you observe the dress code.
You can not be wrong with The Ritz.
Everything was perfect.
Big thank you to everybody, who help to celebrate my BF's birthday in style.
