We had a very nice table, near the water but the music was too loud. It was good music but the speaker must have been right above our table. Also, there was a light on the patio right out from our table that was constantly changing colors. Unfortunately, for my husband they did not have a great beer selection...NO IPAS at all! The food was great and so was the service.

Excellent Brunch with bottomless Bloody Mary's and Sparkling wine. The Eggs Benedict was popular at our table as was the Chicken and Waffles. So tender and amazing. the staff is over the top and the live music is such a lovely bonus to the experience. Right on the water cannot go wrong with that view. Thank you! Deirdre M.
This was our second time dining at the Ritz. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Went to The Ritz for Valentine's Day. They had a prix fixe menu but I don't feel it was worth the $95. The dessert was a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream but they ran out of ice cream. How is that possible? We had made reservations and this was a set menu so the restaurant should have known how much ice cream to keep in stock. They also ran out of the Daou cab by the glass. But at least the service was great.

Great Marina views and delicious cuisine. The staff is so attentive and this is definitely a place to visit. Open seven days a week and live music Th-Sunday. Go!!
We were celebrating our anniversary and the only reason not 5 star was that the restaurant never acknowledged it even though we let them know when made our reservation. That being said the meal was one of the finest I have ever had. Matt was our waiter and he was spot on with his knowledge and recommendations if the menu. The Hamachi Crudo was soooo good melted in your mouth. I ordered the seared ahi with short rib ravioli and topped with fois gras, delicious. My husband went with the sea bass grilled over asparagus and a vichyssoise purée, yum! We had a side of tempura squash with apple slaw so good. Finished with brûlée figs over orange cake with vanilla ice cream. Every coarse was superb. The service outstanding. They have a piano bar and the singer/pianest and guitarist were very good. Overall very lovely evening with great atmosphere and music. We will be back.

Decided to try this restaurant for the first time. Somewhat of a major disappointment from a service level. We went on Saturday night for dinner. Was seated immediately but then waited about 15 minutes until someone arrived to take our drink order. Foos was good as we ordered a dozen oysters, salads, fish and braised short ribs. My drink arrived but not exactly what I ordered, so they graciously replaced it but the glass (Tito's on the rocks) was half full.
After the drinks, the oysters arrived but when finished with them, we waited 20 minutes until our entrees arrived. Overall, I thought food was good but overpriced. Service has a long way to go. Will proably not go back again based upon this experience.

I think it is a shame that I am dressed better than the staff. Really? They wear blue jeans, ,and I am paying $150 a person for dinner??

Never again. It is quite scary that this place is still so poor yet this is supposed to be under the new management team. First we are seated by the noisy music in the bar. Have to ask to find our server. Place is empty on a Friday night, now I see why. It will be close very soon.
Very disappointed, thought was related to The Ritz at Fashion Island learned it was just the name.

Even for restaurant week they used normal menu items and made smaller and less interesting.

The occasion for dining here was a birthday celebration. I chose the special priced Restaurant Week menu and my companion choose from the regular menu. Suffice it to say that the selections served to me from the $50 menu were small....embarassingly small. I have been to many restaurants over the years for Restaurant Week and have never encountered such miserly portions. Granted the waitress did say that the entree was smaller than the same sea bass on the regular menu, but my God, it was the size of an amuse bouche. Not to forget, the bread served were 2 rolls that had to be less than 2 inches in diameter. Then the desert that was served for my friend's birthday was a dollop of custard surrounded, as I remember, by a few pieces of fruit. I was given the same and no mention was made to me of choosing something from the "Chef's Selection" as offered on the menu. After we made quick work of this course, we both looked at one another and said that we would have to have another dessert. So I ordered a chocolate lava cake for us to share.
Now to be fair, I have to say that my friend's selections from the main menu were decent sized and good he said. I, however, felt that the restaurant's attempt at providing a Restaurant Week Value Menu was a complete failure. Perhaps this is why the restaurant was not using it's entire space as there were so few diners on a Thursday night. In my humble opinion, a Restaurant Week Menu should be an opportunity to welcome diners that might never have eaten there before. The lure is assuredly the price, but if the food isn't representative of it's best, then where is the enticement for the diner to return?
We decided to try the restaurant for Newport Beach Restaurant Week. It was a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding as was the service. We will definitely be returning
Outstanding meat dishes, especially the lamb chop. Sea bass was bland.
It was so nice of Sean to come by our table to greet. Just three months ago, he was our bartender and now, he's been promoted to Manager. He's personable, friendly and gracious. Jessica, one of our server, was very attentive and always removed our plates; which I very much appreciated. Jessica's partner in crime, sorry forgot his name, was extremely attentive to my husband's wine glass-thank goodness. Gotta keep that man happy right?!!
Order the sliders....brioche bun was so good and of course the quality of the meat! Sea bass is highly recommended....the veggies used in the dish is all fresh and dashi broth can be added by yourself so it's not overwhelming. Doughnuts were served hot....a nice closing to the dinner.
The Bonus ...live music! It was a memorable night and will be back!

The food and service was great. Especially the grilled octopus, prime Filet mignon and the sea bass.
My fish was over cooked hence it was very dry. It took a long time for the food to be served to the point we wondered if they had forgotten about us.
The good is amazing. We live how they have changed up their menu. And of course the view and the place are flawless.
A birthday celebration was the plan, however, as lovely as our food was, including a delicious grass-fed filet, the lounge music was too loud to have good conversation. We will return when we want entertainment, not conversation.

Service was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable. There was a large party seated by several tables of two. The party was extremely loud and disruptive but we took into consideration it was New Years Eve and let it pass but it definitely took away from the ambience of the restaurant.
Sorry we loved the old Ritz so came here for Christmas Eve dinner like we have done in the past. My husband had to send his lobster bisque back 3 times because it was cold. Nothing came out at the same time. My salmon was cold and the lobster pot pie was horrible. We ate at the bar which we always do. Will not go back there again. Bartenders were great and they did not charge us for any of the foid but so dissapointing. We are home eating tamales.
The food we ordered was good, great presentation. For the $486 we spent the amount of food portions were embarrasing. We were not offered rolls, amount of soup was very small. The filets were more like appetizers. The portion of spinach was maybe a table spoon and was the potatoes. We all left hungry!
Will most likely not be back or recommend the restaurant.

I would expect ATLEAST 2 appetizer choices when u pay $120 for a set menu. Disappointed . I didn't touch the appetizer
The food was average and didn't feel myself wanting more. The environment was calm but still a bit noisier then I expected. The service was very good but not the best I have experienced.

The Ritz recently launched a new winter menu with a Mediterranean feel. It's a 180 from their previous menu and definitely has a "wow" factor. The food is beautifully presented with incredible flavor combinations. The service is OUTSTANDING. Great new crew of personable, knowledgable staff who go above and beyond. I look forward to many future visits to the revamped Ritz!
