My family and I used to come for the Mother's Day brunch YEARS ago when it was an outdoor court yard with live music. We returned this time for a Birthday celebration. We like the changes: it's a beautiful restaurant, the food was delicious, the chef came out to see how things were, our waitress (Lisa) was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. What more could one ask for? It was the perfect place to return for the celebration.

Our appetizers and salads were very good, as were the fish mains, but the pork chops and burger were overcooked and dried out.

The Riggsby is a restaurant worth driving to, but I am so lucky to have it within walking distance. We go all the time. It's one of the best restaurants in Dupont. The menu is on the short side, which I appreciate. Every dish is a masterpiece. The service is excellent.

Lighten up on the salt! One fish dish was completely ruined because of it.

It was Memorial Day weekend so it was kind of dead, which was actually nice. Food was great, service was great, will be back.

Graduation tonight - but we are regulars- and love this place - food, music, drinks are always amazing - bartenders are totally gifted. Tonight we had Joe who was excellent - however we always continue to come
Back because of Olivia. Probably one of the very best servers in DC! What a treasure she is.

Great cocktails, ample brunch menu. Quite noisy, but otherwise a pleasant and attractive restaurant and bar.

The food was better than ever, and the setting, although noisy, is timelessly beautiful. However, service was off on a Saturday night (we rarely dine out then, but had out of town guests). Our waiter showed up too soon to take orders, then disappeared. He was clueless about the rhythm of our meal. It's a nice touch that white and rose wines are kept cold away from the table, but only if someone is paying attention to when glasses need a refill--which was not the case on this visit. They did offer us one free dessert for the four of us, which is better than nothing, but I'd prefer that service be good.

I have been to The Riggsby at least six times, and every time it delivers. The food and service are great - the atmosphere is fun and unique... and you just feel taken care of. This really is a reliable place that I will certainly visit again.

I've eaten here numerous time and this was the first time service was off. Food was great, but there was a definite lack in attention (second glass of wine delivered 15 min after ordering). I've had great service (even memorable) on other occasions, so I'm chalking this one up to an off night. I'll return again as I think the menu is interesting and satisfying.

The Riggsby was great. Ambiance was excellent and the food was fantastic, although a bit pricey. If it had been less expensive, I would go there more often. At these prices it will have to remain a special occasion place to go.

Absolutely perfect menu selections for very picky eaters as well as the more adventurous. Wonderful thoughtful service. It was our first time there Friday night and we reserved same table, same waiter for Sunday. We’ll return there again and again on our visits to DC. A real gem!

This is a lovely place: lively, but not too noisy, casual but special as well, lovely decor and ambiance to make one feel comfortable. The food was all creative and very good, good wine and cocktail selection, and excellent service. Menu is varied enough to suit almost any palate, without being overdone or overwhelming. Loved the lightly smoked trout in the appetizer section. Fantastic! Nice retro kind of feel, with a bit of pizzazz!

Second trip to The Riggsby, and it did not disappoint! Just walking through the keyhole door sets you up for a good night. Great food, great selection of wine, great atmosphere, even the bread is near perfection! Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, kind, and very amusing. I plan to make this an “every time I’m the city” destination!

Riggsby's has beautiful decor. Love the ambiance with their enormous chandelier. Love the wine, LOVED the mussels and the service .... but unfortunately the love stopped there.
My husband and I saw the burgers one night and decided we wanted to go back to try. We were both so disappointed, nothing special (really skimpy!), and the fries were SOGGY! Yuk! The horseradish sauce was yummy but without that sauce it was a regular 5 guys burger. Who needs to spend $18 on a regular burger! Plus the broccoli rapini was spiced up, way too much red pepper flakes! All this made me wonder about the chef, because broccoli rapini already has a delicious spicy , bitter, kick naturally, why take a green vegetable over the top like that?!
Apparently, we are not the only ones who feel this way, because the dining room was spartanly, peppered with people.
Here is the algorithm good food and good value = busy restaurant.

The service is excellent with knowledgable wait staff. An earring popped off while I was there and the staff went to great lengths to find it that evening with no luck. They called me the next morning to inform me they found it and had it waiting for me when I drove up to collect it.
