The Riggsby is a classic. It’s intimate, nostalgic, a little lost in time, cozy, kind of refined, yet definitely playful. The Riggsby is part of the neighborhood. It’s the “go to” place, where the bartender treats you like you’ve been coming in for years, even if it’s your first time stopping by.View Private Dining Details

Great food (wagyu meatloaf), great drinks, great service. Very informal and comfortable. I've been there several times, and I'll be back again and again.
Surprised by how much we enjoyed our dinner
Chose it from online reviews which often doesn’t work well... Go, get the pork chop!
We met friends for Sunday brunch. Offerings were updated versions of traditional brunch dishes. Food was tasty, attractively served, and good-sized portions.
One of our "go to" places in DC and since we discovered it about a year ago they have just continued to step up their game.
The food was excellent, will be back soon. The best Pork Chop ever!!!!!!:)
The two young ladies at the front were very pleasant and professional, job well done.
We ate we talked n made out and left lol
Celebrated a birthday and had a fantastic time. They were flexible when we had to push our reservation back to much later and they seated us promptly upon arrival. Fun space, delicious food and efficient service considering how busy our server was. It’s a great spot with a fun atmosphere reminiscent of a supper club.
Food was absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend the veal chop and the creme brulee. Also, good value for the price - nice dinner for a special occasion but it wasn't outrageous for 2 people.
My biggest complaint would be the service. It was a Friday night, but we had a reservation and although the waiter took our drink order, we didn't get to put our food order in after having been seated for at least 30 minutes. Also, my drink just tasted like straight alcohol, so I didn't even get a chance to send it back, until we were trying to get the manager's attention and insead caught this waitress's eye. She came over to help/take our order. I would just ask for a specific waiter next time.
We were in a private room and so it was relatively quiet. It was definitely louder and more lively in main area. The service was superb, attentive without feeling as though the waiter was hovering. The price was definitely not cheap but I assume that is to be expected in Washington D.C.
Great food, great spirit.
I was a little disappointed when I arrived and was told they didn't have a table for us. Granted, I had amended the reservation a few hours earlier from 6 to 2, but I would think accommodating 2 people wouldn't be a huge issue. We were offered seating in the bar area which we took. The problem there was that we were being served by a bartender who, understandably, was stretched thin so service was slow.
Overall the food was good and she did her best to check in on us when she could.
Amazing crab cakes with poached eggs on top for breakfast. Nice quiet room in art deco hotel. Service on coffee refills a little slow, but minor point. Otherwise great.
My friend and I were staying as guests at The Carlyle and we were so looking forward to dining at The Riggsby. Sadly our dinner experience was sub-par. We made open-table reservations that were not held up even though there were plenty open seating. Our server while nice, did not pay us much attention, and we were not attended to often. We even had to take our bill to the hostess stand to pay because we were left there waiting for so long! The food was tasty, but did feel we to wait a long time there too. A dinner for 2- a drink each (ordered at the bar) 1 app, 1 entree, no dessert should not equal 2 hours...
We came here while in DC for a business meeting. The food and seevice and entire experience was fabulous!
Great meal, great service. A very nice evening.
Most importantly to me, the servers here are sincerely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the details of their offerings. The Riggsby has somehow managed the very difficult feat of serving beautifully presented, truly gourmet cuisine, while also attending promptly and cheerfully to the service of dining guests. Moreover, it accomplishes this without even a hint of pretentiousness. It’s rare to find a gem like this.
This was our first time at the Riggsby. I went with my 16 year old daughter as she loves to pick interesting places while we are in new cities. We made a reservation which I recommend and were seated promptly. I had the lobster bisque to start and she had a salad with a side a fries since they smelled so good. She had the bronzino fish and I had the pork chop. Both were very tasty and the presentation of each meal was so exciting. I also had an old fashioned to start the meal too which just seem appropriate in this establishment. The service was great and our server made great recommendations as my daughter can not have dairy. Overal this was a wonderful experience and if you live in near DC or are just there for fun stop by the Riggsby.
We shared a smoked trout with horseradish sauce appetizer. I had grilled scallops. They were willing to adapt to serve without bacon, which I appreciated. Scallops can be dull or unpleasant if they are not fresh and well-prepared, and these were absolutely flawless and delicious. They were served with cubed butternut squash, brussels sprouts and pomegranate seeds, which made a lovely and seasonal presentation. My friends had spaghetti with duck confit which she loved. Very nice cocktails too. The service was attentive and helpful without being intrusive. The atmosphere reminded me of a NYC club -- dark panelled wood. The one warning is that it can be hard to spot the restaurant as it is inside a hotel and has only a small sign outside. Valet parking is nice, given the difficulty of finding a place near Dupont Circle, but pricy being a hotel ($16).
Great food. Excellent service. He knew the menu very well. And when we considered just appetizers he let us know what we would be missing out on!
I had a wonderful dinner with my sister. Great food and service. It was great place to catch up.
We had a great dinner. We opted to sit at the bar and shared the Beef Wellington... great food and great drinks!
We enjoyed every bite Of our meal and the service was amazing.
We had a very enjoyable experience... great menu and wine list; our meal was amazing. Definitely would recommend The Riggsby and we’ll be back soon
Love Kimpton hotels. And the Rigsby did not disappoint. Great services, fun atmosphere and good food.
Great meal and great service! Really attentive waitress and the tuna tartare was amazing!
Excellent food and excellent service! Will definitely come back.
Great Food ! The Dover sole was cooked perfectly! Excellent wine selections and the service was impeccable.
We loved the comfort feel of the "bistro style" dining room.
Highly recommended !
For that special someone.
Food was terrible, lacked flavor, overly expensive
Great service. However the food didn’t meet the expectations and the price. Ambiance was a bit loud and too bright. They need to dim the lights a little bit.
There was a really loud group in the bar which no one can control. Otherwise I think the noise level would have been fine. Great place.
We had a group of 9 of us and i believe we were all happy with our dinner. Most of us ordered the special seafood dinner entree and it was delicious. It took some time to get food and by the time we got it we were all pretty hungry. But the service was professional and I would recommend and return.
First time and Loved it!!! Great cocktails and vibe, like stepping into a cool speak easy. Can’t wait to go back and have already been recommending to friends.
Classic DC dining.
Had a very nice brunch this past Saturday. Hostess was lovely when we asked for a quieter table as restaurant was busy and noise level was moderate. Service was great. Omelet and breakfast burrito were delicious. Would go back when in the area.
Heard great things— the food definitely lived up and our cocktails were great, but our server was hard to find, unorganized and very sloppy.
Excellent service. We started with the sweetbreads - omg amazing. We had met our server on a previous occasion and she surprised us with smoked trout with beets. I ordered the schnitzel (so good) and my husband the rockfish. We split the chocolate cake (YUM). We also had a couple of delicious glasses of wine and mocktails. Would def go back! So glad to have Riggsby in our neighborhood.
Great food and excellent service! Another Home Run by Michael Shlow.
The service was outstanding and the menu offered great options for very reasonable prices.
