As usual, The Riggsby delivered amazing service and even better food!
One of my "go to" restaurants when I'm trying to have a conversation with my guests. The setting is relaxed, yet elegant and I love the round booths. Food and service are always great!
I liked the location and the menu is good. The wedge salad tasted great. It it wasn’t a complete wedge, it was a slice. Because I don’t do carbs I replaced my potatoes with creamed spinach. It came to the table in a cold cast iron skillet. No telling how long it had been sitting. The Steak was good but not great, the Au Poive sauce tasted good but there were no peppercorns and very little pepper flavor. Overall it worked for my business dinner but given the just ok taste of the meal they were over priced.
Wonderful ambiance and interesting food!!
All good apart from being forgotten when we initially arrived
Food good not great and completely overpriced. Service great though.
Great service. Even better food. Definitely recommend the deviled eggs. Very accommodating. Would dine here again.
I love this place ! every time I visit always have a great experience, quality food , service was excellent and I keep trying new dishes !
Everything is delicious
Im definitely coming back !
Outstanding! The Riggsby has delivered on its incredible reputation. Thanks, Josh, Adam and Thomas! Food and service were over the top! Will be back soon as will my guest!
Dinner was lovely and the service was excellent, though our server seemed a bit stretched. But overall we had a wonderful dining experience and the kitchen was quite accommodating with our dietary restrictions.
The Riggsby is a hidden gem! I've been here several times, for lunch and dinner, and it has never disappointed. One of my favorite restaurants in a city full of great places to eat.
The wait was long for just ordering the entrees. Waiter didn’t tell us about the special. I heard him telling the couple next to us.
It was a pleasure to have dinner here. The service and the food were excellent, as well as the ambiance. It felt special for our Thanksgiving Dinner.
I think the drinks were way too expensive and the food was just ok.
I had seen the reviews but had my doubts. I was very wrong because this is indeed a wonderful place. We went for their special Thanksgiving menu. This place has a wonderful Art Deco decor and is smaller and more intimate than most DC restaurants. When you walk in, there is a great bar and sitting area that is perfect for happy hour. However, food and service are the stars.
A great spot for brunch! Have always loved the Rigsby for happy hour now I know it’s a good place for a last minute brunch.
Great restaurant. Must see, old style Washington DC environment
The Riggsby proved to be a good choice for a weekday lunch with a former colleague. As a fairly large hotel dining room located in a residential portion of town (albeit a five-minute walk from the northern edge of the central business district), it tends not to be very busy at lunch time on weekdays, As a result, we were unhurried and the atmosphere was conducive to conversation. Food was fine, as well; my burger was first-rate, which is what one would hope for given the pricing (not inexpensive). Service was also good; although the server made a mistake with my colleague's order, it was quickly rectified and he received a complementary bite to eat while awaiting his correct order.
Waiters suggested the pork loin - which wasn’t a loin, per se, and it just wasn’t done right... I sent the first one back as it was overcooked, the second wasn’t much different.
Overdone pork roast with sloshy juices didn’t work.
The Riggsby is a top shelf restaurant in Washington DC! The food, service, staff, location, mixed drinks and menu selections are A+. They make the best Grey Goose martini to order in town. She had the oysters and trout wrapped in bacon. I had the lettuce wedge and risotto which was served with a pureed butter nut squash. The food was prepared to perfection and served at the correct temperature. Our waiter was attentive but not over-bearing. The wine list will suit even the most discreet taste and they have excellent wines by the glass or split. Service, superb and as we were leaving the doorman made it a point to flag us down a nearby cab. No our first visit and certainly will not be our last.
The Riggsby has a good vibe. Waiter knowledgeable and friendly but not overly so. Mix of ages which is a good indicator.
I don't know what to say. I've been coming to this restaurant REGULARLY for at least 3 1/2 years. Tonight was horrible. As a regular, the restaurant usually has a wine selected and Nena or Joe (no longer there) or Karim (now there) typically are my servers. Didn't happen. A decent flow of service never happened. We waited too long for everything, except entrees (hot fish on cold vegetables). They heated the veggies, put the old fish back on top, with the plates delivered by the manager who said the dish was "designed" to be hot fish on room temperature "or less" vegetables, but they "fixed it" for us. Really? Fire the chef then. Good grief. I am supposed to bring a client here in two weeks, but feel as if the restaurant that has been my go-to, is no longer just that. So disappointed.
The food was great! The ambiance very enlivening. Will go back soon and often with friends. Great value!
The service was superb
It made our evening
The food was delicious, literally amazing. The service was great. Perfect for an expensive date night.
We went to Riggsby for a business lunch. The restaurant was not crowded, we were seated promptly (we had reservations), and we were served in a timely manner. I will return!
Fun, and posh ambiance, and food is always good. Though this time the wedge salad lettuce was a little on the wilted side and I don't know why they can't provide a full wedge. Regardless, fun menu items, albeit a little overpriced. Usually able to get a reservation when in a bind on the weekend.
I am not sure how to rate this restaurant to be honest. While everything I saw leaving the kitchen was beautiful and looked tasty. And the food we received was definitely fine, while not being anything special or memorable, on the level I would come back and try some of the other menu items EXCEPT the service was so exceptionally bad I will not return. Our waitress when she came to the table at all, not once but three times dropped items on me from behind, which I can deal with since none was liquid. But she did not apologize once for it. We ordered a bottle of champagne for mimosas and after she slammed the bottle into the table, again with no apology just left it there. From what I can tell we were the only ones not offered a ice bucket to keep it in. Not once but twice did another person in my party get up to refill our tables coffee with the carafes they had sitting out at a station and then another time to refill our water. The manager did bring our food out and I could not tell if this was because our bad service or just because. Either way for a bill of $170.00 for four people, I would say go somewhere that provides just even decent service.
The service was outstanding. The food was good but not amazing. We enjoyed the first course better than the entrees. Still a nice experience though.
So disappointed with the food. Tasteless omelette, cold Benedict, and overcooked poached eggs in a $21 hash.
*Update: manager sent personal follow up emails to learn more about the meal and how to improve. Hope to return soon for a meal. Thanks for reaching out, Josh.
Beautiful restaurant- excellent food and service. Beef carpaccio was delicious, as was the pork chop and the creme brûlée. Highly recommend!
We stopped by for lunch on Sunday. Food was ok, but overpriced. The service was slow and inattentive. This is our second and last time eating at Riggsby. With so many interesting, excellent places around, no need to spend our money on just something barely average.
Excellent service and chicken Caesar salad for lunch. They seated in us in a quieter area as requested which was perfect. Nice ambience.
They did not have all the wine advertised on the menu. And service a bit slow.
It was overall good, but they sat our party at a table in the bar area and the bartender was a little overwhelmed tryin to serve us and all the other customers.
Fantastic service and delicious food!!
Service from the beginning was erratic but they rallied to compensate us for the slow start. Still, too many missteps for a dinner that costs $150 per person. Food was good except for cioppino that was more sauce than broth and way too salty. Shame because the seafood in it was really good.
Excellent food and service...as usual
