This is a great spot on the UWS. Great chicken! Unfortunately the service on this night was spotty at best, but our waiter realized this and took about $50 off our bill to compensate. That is great situational awareness and was appreciated so we’ll go back for sure.
Overall very good and very dependable
I’ve come here numerous times and I’ve never had a bad drink or a bad dinner. They have the best cheese and charcuterie platter. It’s not cheap but the quality of the food is really good and they don’t use cheap fillers like a lot of other places do. I’ll keep coming back
Some of the best comfort food on the West Side. Always reliable. The white bean soup is so good it’s almost a meal in itself.
One of the neighborhood's best burgers, and a vibrant ambiance. Always enjoyable!
Love this place. The food and service are amazing. Always love coming here.
Our waiter was very patient with our slow ordering, and members of the party arriving a little late. Food was good, portions large. We were there for lunch/brunch on Saturday. It's a big space, and family friendly (space for strollers). There was a very posh 12 yr old's birthday party happening there that was nicer than my wedding, but that's the UWS for you! Its a little noisy, but that's to be expected. I've been there a few times, and will return. Perfect for a walk in the park afterward.
Great! Fabulous and fun fondue! Room awesome and our waiter made my husbands birthday dinner a fabulous night!
Great place to have lunch in a relatively quiet, spacious dining room. The food is of the comfort variety and truly delicious.
Great restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The food is very good. The ribs were awesome!
Creative menu, friendly wait staff, cozy atmosphere. A real neighborhood gen.
Waiter was on point but there was some serious delays in getting our drinks and additional food. Waiter compensated for this. Pulled pork hamburger was NOT pulled pork but rather pork slices-somewhat disappointing. Deviled eggs were great. Super loud venue. Be prepared.
Service was fair/inattentive
Food had to be returned and reserved
Nice vibe, really nice bar/sports bar area with communal tables. The location is great.
But once at table, service was very spotty- being served either too often ie rushed or not often enough ie ignored. Even at front desk we were somewhat ignored and had to ask to have our coats checked
The food was OK. Some things were better than others.
all in all disappointing
Very pleased with our server, Tyler. He was extremely considerate, helpful, made recommendations. We couldn’t ask for a better server. The food was good, portion size fair, served hot/cold as applied to the dish.
Food wasn’t as good as usual. Fried chicken was tasteless and a bit cold.
We had friends in town from Australia and there was no question where we should go. Mutual friends were joining us and the 6 of us enjoyed another superb meal at the Ribbon. My one friend grudgingly heads up town when he has to but maintains that the salmon at the Ribbon is the best he has ever eaten. We adore the buffalo cauliflower. I am obsessed with the Prime Rib. In fact, you just cannot go wrong. The best food.
Food came out cold twice. There are better places in the area for the money.
We were 15 minutes late but they accommodated us without incident. Pleasant staff and excellent food.
Nice place for a bite before a show at The Beacon
The menu at Ribbon is eclectic and appealing; the food is fresh, interesting, and well-presented. Some items are vastly overpriced (e.g. the deviled eggs$, but our only complaint is the spotty service. Our waiter was inattentive - got our drinks and dinner order ‘sides’ wrong. Ditto, the table next to ours.
The drinks are always strong and delicious. The food will never be a let-down. I’ve previously only sat and ate at the bar and service was stellar, food came out quickly. This past visit, with the reservation we sat at a table. The service was pretty slow and I was surprised how long we were left without drinks and how long the food took to be prepared. But- this is probably just a blip in their record.
Great brunch for our family of 4 before exploring Central Park
Roasted beef marrow was delicious but portion was precious. Food was great overall but it felt pricey for what you are getting, even by New York standards. Nice place for a casual meal or sit at the bar and watch sports on TV while having a drink.
An amazing dining experience from start to finish. An 11 out of 10. Robin the manager is a true hospitality professional. Thank you...
There was hair in 2 dishes and food was mediocre and expensive.
The Ribbon never disappoints. From the incredible fried chicken to one of the best pieces of bronzino in town the food is excellent. And the bartenders really know how to make a dark expresso martini, which is unique in and of itself. Love this place and glad we have it in the neighborhood.
Such a great experience! Went for Christmas and wasn’t disappointed, thank you for making our Christmas magical
We absolutely love this restaurant! It is casual but at same time their food are top notch!
And we eat out so much for both business and pleasure all over the world. Also we own restaurants so we are very particular.
Also we went there for Christmas dinner. Most of New York restaurants they make up holiday menus but the Ribbon has same menu.
It’s was our first family Christmas in NYC.
We were left on our own after the waitress took our order. We had to ask for the specials, had to ask for desert and they got our order wrong. Food was good but service terrible.
The prime rib made it worth the visit. Everyone else's meat was overcooked.
It was totally worth it. Amazing food and service.
Adequate cavatelli but husband ordered the chop salad with meats, blue cheese....essentially inedible. Disappointed as we had suggested the restaurant to friends
Food quality was quite a bit less than expected, especially at the prices they charge
We had a fabulous Saturday brunch! Food was delicious and the mimosas just right. Hubby had a bloody mary that was done up with lots of extras. No photos - everyone was starving. Fluffy blueberry pancake and challah french toast were wonderful!
Had a great book club lunch. Great service. Good food
If you’re in the mood for loud, this is the place. Wine selection was decent, apps are very good. Main course was nothing special. Service was also very good.
It was very loud and crowded and the food was pretty good. Small salad for $16 is not worth it
It’s so good we keep going back . The pork and the meatballs are outstanding. All the staff are caring concerned and accommodating
