Ambience was great. Service was good. Prime rib was overcooked but had a good flavor.
We were their for the first day of the Grand Buffet. The food was good fair amount of choices and preparation was great. However I would change the pancake station to crepes. The desert table was more breakfast pastries with two small very good desserts but no spoons for the small cups. Service was a bit slow at first then it picked up it was like everybody was confused we had to wait for serving utensils for some items. The down falll was the price to me 65 per person and additional 15 for mimoss. The buffet was large but I have been to larger ones that included your bottomless mimosas for less. So 80 per person with drinks is a bit too steep in my opinion.
Couldn’t have been better and we were placed in a table at the window! It felt like the best table they had! Thank you Rib Room!
Wow, food and service was just superb!! I highly recommend the following menu items: Rib Room salad with blue cheese salad, French onion soup, center cut prime rib, filet mignon, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts and for dessert Kleinpeter's chocolate ice cream topped with chocolate sauce. Absolutely awesome food tonight. Consistently good. Service was just as awesome!! :)
Ambiente muy agradable, excelente carne, buen servicio
We booked for prime rib but then learned out of prime rib so we had the 16 oz rib eye special, which was over seasoned.
Amazing food & amazing service!!
Decent food, service well below what you would expect.
Enjoyed it very much. Food and service were excellent. Quite pricy as steakhouses tend to be.
Our server was great but the kitchen didnt follow. Food arrived at different time for everyone.
No music nor atmosphere in the restaurant.
Took ages to get our wine.
Choices are limited
Great food, great service
This was the first time we’ve been to the Rib Room and left disappointed. My husband’s lamb chops arrived at the table cold. The waiter tried to fix it and warm them w kitchen but was luke warm to prevent over cooking.
We will be back but this time was a disappointment as our prior experiences have been excellent.
Excellent food, beautiful atmosphere.
We had drinks and enjoyed the service provided by our waiter Jason.
Impeccable service, welcoming and attentive. Beautiful environment, cozy and roomy leather chairs. The best prime rib I've ever tasted. The desserts weren't the greatest, but still enjoyable. A memorable evening, will most definitely return again.
Not much air conditioning.
Wonderful all the way around. Thanks for a great evening.
We chose this restaurant as part of the New Orleans Restaurant Week, the menu choice was small but we felt it looked appealing. The restaurant was quite and our Server was welcoming and informative, we chose our food. The starters were ok but the mains 3 of us chose were to 10oz prime rib, if this was prime rib I would be amazed, there was so much fat content you were lucky if you ended up with half of the 10oz as actual meat. Desert was chocolate cake which was very nice and our Server accommodated the requests for English Breakfast tea very easily but the Prime Rib really let the meal down I`m afraid.
Always an exceptional experience, and this visit was no exception!
After days of shrimp, oysters and fish in New Orleans, it was nice to sit down in a beautiful restaurant and order the delicious prime rib! This beautiful cut of meat came with several additions but we opted for the surprisingly large baked potato that allowed you to also pile on sour cream, bacon bits and scallions. The servers were great with a sense of humor. We chose an early reservation and a seat near the windows to watch the colorful characters of the French Quarter. The 3 levels of prime rib (not including the additional chef's special) were 8 oz, about 12 oz and the King cut came with bone-in. Our meat came cooked the way we requested. This restaurant was a bit pricey compared to other places serving prime rib but we knew that going in and decided to have a great meal within walking distance of our hotel. We were not disappointed.
Wonderful way to end our trip to New Orleans. The food (prime rib) was just amazing.
Fabulous experience here, from the service to the food.
Beautiful restuarant, great prime rib, excellent service.
Food (veal) over cooked. More burned than crispy.
We love the Rib Room and went for The Coolinary event at dinner. The atmosphere is great and the staff always charming. The food however just was not up to par this time. Our prime rib was both really fatty and hard to cut. Both appetizers we had were greasy and there seemed to be no fresh produce in site. Not sure what was going on but even with the coolinary $39 dollar special that and one drink hit me with. $75 bill each and food I personally could not eat. I hope they fix this or get a better chef.
Service was AMAZING! Tried the fried oysters and we did not like them. However for dinner we had 14oz steak with loaded potatoes which had a nice creamy sauce with shrimp and sautéed spinach. We really enjoyed our food!
Our server was amazing and the food was above par!
The entree meat was very good, chill glazed prime. The cocktails, sides and desserts were Only average. Our bottle of wine left heavy sediment in our wine glasses. The manager said it was harmless and should have been filtered or aerated before serving. Sorry we are locals however we would not return or recommend based on this experience.
Went for my wife’s birthday, it was wonderful!
Excellent service. The toughest grisly prime rib I have ever had the displeasure of. I expressed my opinion and received a $6.50 discount which is not even the fourth of the price of one of my martinis. Very disappointing.
Exceptional as always. Absolute favorite place for Sunday Brunch.
Staff are amazing across the board.
Thanks guys and gals for helping to make Sunday Fun-Day a total blast!
The service was exceptional. Friendly, attentive and not hovering. The atmosphere was quaint and what you would expect from a New Orleans restaurant. The food was delicious, however both steak entrees that we had we found to be VERY salty. Overall was a great dinner and would recommend it to others, and we will visit again!
I was very disappointed. We were there for over 4 hours. We had two tables sit after us and leave before us. Drinks were great but my filet had no flavor and my husbands Redfish had no flavor at all. After a 400.00 meal for 4 people I was hoping to have a much better experience. The chop house is 100000 times better for food, service and atmosphere. I won't be back here to eat.
We both had the Coolinary menu. My prime rib was outstanding as was every course of the meal. This is a long-standing FQ restaurant. Even though it’s in a hotel, it’s not your typical hotel restaurant. Delicious food, excellent service & warm atmosphere.
This was the second time we have been there. The coolinary menu sounded good but prime rib sandwich was very dry and no real taste.
The first time my husband got the prime rib and they just slopped the horseradish on the plate.
First time there in many years, but not disappointed. As usual, the prime rib was outstanding!
We went for Coolinary lunch and it was such a let down. The descriptions of the menu in advance looked really delicious. The menu items that came out were a huge disappointment - missing key menu items on the plate, bland and mediocre in taste and sad presentation. Even with the lunch special it was overpriced and mediocre at best. On top of that, the service was lacking and slow - and slow to respond when we mentioned items were missing from the dish. For a New Orleans institution they should really do better all around.
We used to go to the Rib Room a lot when we lived in the Quarter. We moved Uptown and haven't been there in years. When the Rib Room was suggested by a member of our Eating Group, we jumped at the chance.
We would have been better left with the memories of the Rib Room in its heyday. There was one waiter for the entire Dining Room and he was clearly overmatched. The Kitchen was very slow. It took over 3 hours for a party of 6 to have dinner.
The food was entirely disappointing. The slices of the prime rib were as thin as a minute steak, and the meat was a bit tough.
After the meal, the vote was unanimous. Not one of the 6 New Orleanians would be back to the Rib Room for a very long time.
Dinner was fabulous, everything was excellent. I would recommend the Gumbo
