I am a recent transplant from the Baltimore/Washington DC area, and this is my go to special occasion place. Great drinks, great service, and food that is prepared with imagination and rock solid technique
We were huge fans of the dinners at Revelry, however changes to the menu and a changed in the variety of drink options left us disappointed. The dinner options are now so limited and the quality was greatly diminished. The service, however, was exemplary.
8:15 reservations. Got two drinks and two appetizers. Didn’t get food until 9:46...where we had to leave because we had 10pm plans. Terrible service. Waitress said they were plating the food at 9:23. Food never came until we said we had to leave. Food was piping hot when they packed it up for us at 9:46, so she lied about it being plated 23 mins. earlier. Expensive food and long wait time. Plenty of better restaurants in Rochester. Not worth it.
The bartender was great. The food fantastic. Our waitress was very friendly and her service exceptional.
We have been to brunch at The Revelry several times. It is always wonderful. Just wish they'd bring back the quiche! Their biscuits and french fries though are absolutely delightful!
Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The small plates were still very good, but the large plates were nothing to write home about. It was a special occasion dinner, but we won't be going back anytime soon, except for appetizers. C'mon, Revelry -- you can do a lot better.
Great food, excellent ambiance, a little pricey.
Very friendly staff and great service. Cool ambiance and tasty food.
The food is always spectacular. It is always noisy but we may overlook that sometimes. It took asking 3 people to get a wine list which was annoying
Second time I have been here in the past few weeks and found the food was a bit bland but my wife enjoyed her meal. Friendly service in a well designed and decorated space.
Sorry, but my wife and I were very disapointed and probably won’t be back. The only way I could eat the burger was work on it layer by layer (too big to get into my mouth).
Food was very good, though we were a bit disapponted not to have been able to order one of the menu items that was actually the reason for us going there! We had dinner Saturday at 5:30 and they had already run out of one of their entrees, though dinner service doesn’t start until 5. I know with fresh ingredients and a limited menu this is a possibility, but we would not have imagined that to be the case at the start of the dinner hour. Also, my husband was offered the option of sparkling water, but then was told they had run out of that, as well. I understand deliveries don’t arrive daily, but, again, just disappointing to look forward to something and not have it available!
I took my Mom here for her birthday and the hostess and waitress both knew as soon as we walked in! They greeted us with a hello and a happy birthday which was very thoughtful. Our waitress was very kind and attentive.
Very good dining. Food was great and not bad on the pricing either. Drinks were awesome!
so many up beat people and the music was right for the crowd vibe.
Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We had a good experience for a family gathering.
New spring menu had a number of good options, The brisket and salmon meals were both fantastic and you can never beat the service at the Bar.
Dinner was incredible delicous! The staff was fantastic and attentive but not overly attentive. Menu had great options and the bar menu had creative cocktails
Thank you so much for one of the best evenings we have ever had with visiting family! The new spring menu blew us away - everything was beyond delicious! The staff was helpful and friendly! The drinks were fantastic! Our relatives love the Revelry and want to come back to Rochester and eat there soon! I have had several fantastic evenings at the Revelry, but this one may have been the absolute best! Thank you so much, see you soon!
This our 1st time here as we were celebrating our 2 anniversary. The service was wonderful. Atmosphere relaxing. Food was delictable. We will definitely be back again.
A very good venue with a hip, energetic feel. Decent selection of craft beers (I'm not a wine or spirits drinker, so can't comment about that). Food menu has some different selections if you're adventurous, but also some more familiar items if you're not. Everything we ordered was outstanding (octopus, lamb, salmon, corn bread). Service was very attentive, even though the place was packed on a Saturday night. Will definitely be back.
Great food & great service! We will definitely be back!
This restaurant has a nice, trendy feel situated in an old saw mill, with a great atmosphere. If you wear skirts, you might want to consider wearing pants for dinner here as there is a glass floor near the reservation station and patrons can be seated at a table below it who can look up. My husband had the steak, which was expensive at $42, but which he also loved. I had the revelry burger and fries, which were both good, if a bit greasy. The menu wasn't too extensive or adventurous. We were seated at a small table near the waitress station and had to wait a bit longer than expected to order and receive our drinks, but it was a busy Saturday night. Our server was pleasant and friendly but not especially attentive. We had to remind and ask for things like the desert menu and drinks.
All in all, it was an ok experience. It looked like it might be nice for lunch with all the big windows on the second floor .
2nd visit based upon our first.
The service was slowwwww... 15 minutes to get drinks (non-alcoholic) Out of iced tea! Wait staff was terrific and the food came out fresh and hot, so I'm thinking the slow service was based upon the kitchen. Appetizers: 20 minutes after ordering, main: almost an hour after ordering. Good thing we ordered appetizers.
Both meals were great. Fresh, tasty, well composed and presented.
We'll be back, assuming that the slow service was not typical.
I have been here before and was sort of disappointed with this visit. I was disappointed to know that the scorpion drink was taken off the menu for the winter menu. I felt as our server didn’t have much knowledge behind the actual food - we asked how things were and she just described it as “good.”
I got the fish Friday special and it was very messy and unappetizing.
Outstanding food and service!!
Great atmosphere. Small food menu, but delicious options. And the drinks are awesome
Trendy brunch spot
We loved the music and service. My salmon was perfectly cooked. One highlight was going to the bar after dinner and trying some new whiskeys. We enjoyed watching the bartenders practicing their craft.
We were unaware, and saw no notice, of the extremely limited menu on Sunday afternoon. Our evening dinning experiences have been fantastic but our recommendation is to avoid Sunday afternoon!
The experience was great. My only complaint was that upstairs it felt a little cold/drafty because of the large windows.
Very good service. Food was delicious! Fried Chicken was amazing!!
Very nice Server.
Please get a vegan option for brunch. Was surprised there wasn’t one available. Our waiter was amazing!
This is my 3rd time going to Revelry for dinner. Every single time, the service was fabulous. The craft cocktails are delicious. Food excellent. What's not to like about Revelry!!!
We came later at night, so their wasn't a host to greet us, but one of the waitresses was so attentive and directed us right to our table upstairs. Our waitress and his support staff were really friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. The food and drinks were amazing!
On Sunday morning the 18th of Feb the room at the first floor floor was very cold, heating system probably not planned to work in advance to allow adequate temperarure
As always, we enjoyed our meal on this special Valentine's Day.
A glass of house provided champagne poured table side was a nice touch.
We were greeted as always like treasured diners and appreciated the friendly and warm welcome from Tedd.
Our dinner special of grilled snapper was delicious...as was our appetizer of plump and tasty east coast oysters and melt in your mouth biscuits.
We couldn't resist the flour less chocolate cake with crunchy chocolate chip ice cream for dessert.
It is always a pleasure to dine at The Revelry.
I hate to be too terribly critical here because this may have been an anomaly, but this was a pretty lousy experience for my girlfriend and me. Sunday was her birthday and she had been wanting to try this place, so I made us reservations for 6:30. We showed up at about 6:15 and the hostess seated us immediately. Our server was friendly and prompt, and recommended a wine to my girlfriend to pair with the lobster tail she ordered...which they turned out to be out of. Along with the crab legs. And the cheddar rolls. And the wine I ordered. By the time my girlfriend actually found something on the menu that she wanted to order--a red drum sandwich--it felt like we should've just started by asked what they still had available and started from there, instead of ordering based on what we actually wanted (and, again, it's not like this happened because we showed up 30min before closing; this was at 6:15).
Then, to top it all off, the server screwed up my girlfriend's order and brought her the wrong thing, so we had to sit there sharing the fries from my burger for several more minutes before they brought her the right order (side note: they were really good).
None of this made the experience BAD per se. The food we ended up with was still good, the atmosphere was cool, and the server was very nice. She was also clearly mortified at how badly everything was going for us. In the end, she took our appetizers off of our bill, which was all she could do at that point. And while I appreciate that gesture, I really didn't want free appetizers. I wanted a nice dinner for my girlfriend's birthday. Instead I ended up paying $100 for sandwiches and a couple of glasses of wine. So it's hard not to say that the restaurant ended up being a pretty big disappointment on this particular occasion.
Birthday brunch for our daughter who likes this restaurant. Busy Sunday crowd, short wait for our table (we had reservations). Ice water came immediately, a bit of a wait for server to take drink orders. Hand crafted is a good description of my bloody-Mary, not your basic vodka tomato juice salted rim with a celery stick but more of a small herb and spice infused taste sensation with a shot of hot sauce...very tasty. Wife and daughter ordered chicken and waffle and I had steak and eggs. The steak and eggs were perfectly cooked (med rare and sunny side up) the hash browns only OK. I got to taste the chicken and waffle and it was also good. Ambience was attractive, loud (crowd noise and music system) difficult to hold a conversation. A note to elderly diners like myself, dining room is on the second floor, restrooms on the first (no elevator). Moderately expensive, nice decor, good creative menu, I'll be back.
