The service was fantastic and flawless. The food was comparable to similar venues in big cities, such as SF, NYC and Paris. Portions were generous, flavors divine. It was an anniversary celebration and I had requested - in the online reservation and the confirmation call - a quiet and non-drafty seat, because I’m always freezing. I was assured such. Sadly, the table in the oval section of the restaurant was cold and drafty whenever the front door opened. I was cold the entire time. The ambiance was just ok x noisy because of glass and wood, and a table nearby who was very “celebratory “. There also was a bit of echo with the high ceilings, which was not present in the mail dining room. Overall I’d give the venue a solid 4 with a few improvements as noted.

Everything was great as always.
The only questionable thing was tzaziki sauce with the scallop and mussel dish, but I could push that off to the side so it was ok. Get the beet salad!!!
As always, the food was very good - tasty and nicely presented. However, the prices seem steep for what you get. I aso found the service to be spotty. Our server was very gracious, but stumbled on a couple of points - he did not let me taste the wine before he poured a glass for each of us and I had to ask twice for a couple of plates for a shared appetizer (I should not have had to ask at all).
A nice place for a once-in-a-while "fancy" dinner but nothing more.
We went for our brother’s birthday after wine tasting. They took care of us and being members had its perks. We will be back soon!! Great food, ambiance and service.
I would have given this visit 5 stars except there were a couple of issues. The first issue is they are apparently short staffed in the kitchen at the moment, so it did take quite a while to get our meals. However, they did make up for the delay through a complementary glass of Wente wine, which was appreciated.
The second issue involved the couple next to us that had an energetic toddler with them that was hard to control. The child was loud and did tend to scream every once in a while, which got everyone's attention in the dining room. The parents were trying to keep their child quiet, but were unsuccessful. Towards the end of our time there the father was playing with the child trying to keep her occupied, and he had actually become louder than the child (probably influenced by his consumption of his adult beverages). It finally got quiet a few minutes before we left for home, and as we walked out we understood why they had gotten quiet. The mother was breast feeding the child.
We go to Wente on a regular basis and are Entertainment Club members. This is the only time something like this has happened to us there. Normally the dining rooms have noise levels that are in line with what you would expect, and the service is normally very timely. I'm writing this visit off as an anomaly and this visit won't prevent us from coming back. The food, as always, was outstanding, and the wait staff were doing the best that they could.
Expensive for the portions of food on the plate. The food was prepared well and enjoyed by both my husband and I but forty two dollars for two pieces of fish seems a bit much, however fresh it was.

Our server was an excellent sommelier. His suggestions for wine pairings with our appetizers and main courses were exceptional. I will definitely return to enjoy some of the best wine offered in the east bay.
Always love eating at Wente Restaurant. It is the only place in this area that provides fine dining, beautiful ambiance amidst the golf course and surrounding vineyards!

We liked everything about the restaurant. The food was excellent, as was the service. As expected, the wine list is wonderful. Next time, we will try to leave room so we can sample the dessert menu.
been here over 15 years don't know what else to say. Being a vegetarian it is limited.
The food is great but the service is terrible. We had to ask 2 times for butter/oil for our bread, we had to ask for a steak knife for the pork chop we ordered, we had to ask for refills for coffee. When I spend $150 for lunch, I expect service to be top notch.
The food and service here we’re beyond wonderful. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the ingredients in each dish. Food was tailored to our health needs while remaining incredibly good. Two of us had the scallops which were absolutely delicious. Another member of our party had the pork chop which has received rave reviews and he said the reviews were well-deserved.
Great evening. I know the menu changes so this may not apply - pork chop was delicious. Bone marrow appetizer - never thought I would say this or try it - amazing. Great service. Great ambience. Highly recommend.
Wente remains our favorite restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area. The location is lovely, and the drive there prepares one for a special evening. The servers are gracious, and the food always is delicious. We look forward to our next visit!

My husband and I made a brunch reservation at Wente Restaurant as a small Valentine's Day celebration/promotion celebration for my husband. Our reservation was at 10:30, right as the dining room opened. The hostess led us to a small room away from the large family ahead of us, which was considerate. Our waiter's name was Kevin, and when we had a question about making a small change to the brunch pre fixe, he was able to accommodate us with no issue. He also gave us great detail about the various menu items, which are changed monthly.
My husband and I both loved what we chose on the menu. For drinks, he had the mimosa and I had the red sangria. The next course was an apple cinnamon muffin, but Kevin was able to get my husband a small plate of fruit in its place. Afterwards, I had the baby beets while my husband had the ceasar salad, and the for the final course, I had the eggs benedict and my husband had the Berkshire pork chop. We were thrilled with every single course. The portions were generous during the final course, but we were able to pack up the leftovers no problem (and had them for dinner the same night!). We loved our experience overall and we plan on going back for the next special occasion!
The meal and service was average and expensive. This was historically I nice special restaurant. The menu is now limited and our food was warm, not hot. Scallops fishy, pork chop had too much carbon and fat.
Sorry to see this gem deteriorate.

Great food but only small number of choices compared to the past. No longer any local olive oil nor can you order a single glass of the Wente Champagne to start the meal with. Ambiance and service all to the very good Wente levels.

My girlfriend had the butternut squash ravioli with truffle and I had the tasting menu. The highlight was the butternut squash ravioli for both of us! Excellent dish! We had the beet salad which was also excellent but a bit heavy on the rich goat cheese. The tasting menu was good with one minor issue with an undercooked flank steak dish but it was corrected quickly (and they gave us a free dessert). The dessert that came with the tasting menu was the chocolate mouse pictured below and was top notch! The other dessert was a very pretty panna cotta dish but the gelatin was just too over powering. It needed more fresh ingredients to cut the gelatin or lighten it, like some fresh fruit, and certainly they need to remove the extra gelatin on the plate used as a garnish.
The interior and ambiance were delightful. We'd definitely go back again.
As always, Wente provides excellence in wine, food, service and ambiance. If you want a special treat away from the normal restaurants, give Wente a try. My Husband and I have been coming here for years and are never disappointed. Become a Wente Entertainment Club Member and start enjoying the extra’s when you visit. Always a treat, and always a "special occasion" to visit and dine at Went Vineyards. Very happy with beautiful location, attentive and friendly service, and first-class food at Went. Treat yourself.
Entirely unsatisfactory this time. Ordered the prix-fixe for brunch, started with a sweet muffin, we all decided to save that for last, which we mentioned to the waiter as he brought them. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. 45 minutes after sitting I had to go to the front desk to ask for our salad course. Finally arrives. Cleared. Then we wait, and wait, and wait for our mains. Its now one hour and twenty minutes later and we are getting our eggs. 1:20 for eggs! By then we had more or less finished our wine on an empty stomach, which made us feel a little blah, and we had pretty much lost our appetite. Left us feeling grumpy the rest of the day, for 300+ for 4 people. Never again. To top it off, we wandered into the winery building after since that's where the member tastings were last time and were more or less told we were trespassing on private property and to leave immediately. Went to the tasting room and it reeked of stale sweat. Picked up shipment, got home, terminated membership.

Service was outstanding, nice to see people still care about customer service. Food was excellent as well. If you are Wente wine club member, this is a must do. As a bonus we got to witness a marriage proposal. Very nice
I was there one Saturday to propose to my GF. I called very last minute and everybody was so nice and helpful and totally helped me out with everything. Staff was super friendly and very low key with keeping everything a secret. It was a amazing experience and i totally recommend this place (tasting and restaurant) to everybody!
Service is excellent, ambiance is also excellent. You should go during daylight to take full advantage of the vineyard setting. Food ranges to quite good (appetizers) to just fair (my main entree consisted of a huge slab of meat placed over a small bed of vegetables).

I really liked this place, I wish to come back, but I didn't find vegan options there. The food was great anyway.
We stopped for a quick lunch on the patio & it was awesome. The service, the wine & food, was top notch. I can't wait to visit again.

Decided to try Wente again after a few years. I’ve always liked the atmosphere but the food has disappointed me every time I go. This was no exception. Pork chop was 1/3 fat and the steak tartare was terrible. The chef needs to pay attention to what goes out of the kitchen.
The new menu is too limited if you do not want to select the fixed menu with wine pairing.
We did some wine tasting before and the bought some bottles to bring into the restaurant.
Dinner was great and we had a wonderful time.
The food was great. It was my wife's birthday and they presented her with a menu that said Happy Birthday. The dessert had Happy Birthday written on the plate and we were given a complementary tasting of Wente's sparkling wine. It was a very nice evening. Our server, Marc, was very attentive. He was at our table checking on us at just the right times.
