We were seated in front of a fireplace which we loved. Menu was disappointing with few offerings. Servings were smaller than expected. Food presentation was elegant. Good wine selection. Service was great.
I picked this place for a late lunch on Valentine's Day so that my wife and I could take a walk on the nearby beach beforehand. The restaurant and nearby area are very quiet and beautiful. The views of the pond from the restaurant are great. So the atmosphere there is excellent.
We enjoyed our drinks and the meal. Pre-meal cocktails were well-done. Our starter, the charcuterie plate was not bad - not much quantity for the price, and the hard cheese and meats did not have a lot of flavor. The entrees and desserts were very good. The meal we had reflects skill and attention to detail. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Prices are expensive, and I think the place is worth the expense for the right occasion. Nice place, we'll return some time.
excellent food, nice ambience. Tough to beat on a cold winter's evening
very nice evening........great food, great service
Lovely experience, wonderful food and very warm atmosphere.
Will keep coming back. The view of the large and quiet salt pond is unmatched. (Sorry Ocean House. "It is, what it is".)
Food and service were impeccable. We sat at a lovely table overlooking the water - just beautiful even on a gray day.
Excellent all around. But the staff should not have seated the other couple next to our table when there was plenty of room to have space. We would return.
We booked a late lunch the day after Thanksgiving. Admitedly, that is not the best day to test a restaurant, nor is the lunch menu anything special (lobster roll, crabcakes, cesar salad). Our waitress confused our order but at least seemed very willing and told us this was her first week. But the other waiter, Brandon - supposetly supervising her - was not what you would expect in a Relais Chateaux. I heard someone from the table next door ask for the difference between Rhode Island and New England clam chowder; he didn't know. Later he came up to our table to ask if we wanted another glass of wine. I happened to be reading something but my husband replied no for both of us. Then Brandon POKED ME IN THE ARM to get my answer!!!! In all my life, whether in a neighborhood dive or a Michelin three star, I have never had a waiter touch me (let alone poke me) like that. If you want to charge $100 for a lobster roll and a crab cake, then make sure you have trained staff on duty at all times.
We were there for Thanksgiving and it was an out standing meal. The service was superior and the food was just perfect.
I want to keep it a secret spot. I want to keep the Weekapaug and The Restaurant all to myself. This is my happy place - i love it here.
This particular evening we were with another couple—it was a Friday in early November for dinner—and we were celebrating the anniversaries of surviving serious health events—in other words we were celebrating the joy of being alive.
Regarding the restaurant, we love the location and setting! In the summer there is a porch for drinks and/or dinner and in winter a roaring fire! The food is top notch and the staff attentive. Modifiers on the rating are beacause the wine list is not always current and the staff, though quite pleasant and helpful, are not always terribly experienced or knowledge.
Excellent brunch menu. Service was excellent. Very formal feeling
Went for lunch. Beautiful setting! Service was attentive.
The soup was very good as was the fluke and the kale salad. Lamb stuffed ravioli was bland...certainly not worth $30. Presentation was lovely. The waitress added a special toast for Fall which was appreciated. Water glasses were never empty. Best Old fashion we ever had. The lime pudding cake was delicious and French press Dave’s coffee superb.
Waitress was attentive, friendly and informative.
Table was too tight in a corner. There is more comfortable seating at the Weekabaugh Inn.
Difficult to get reservations because the Inn is often sold out to private parties.
We live in the neighborhood and have stopped by the Inn several times during our walks to enjoy a cocktail only to be turned away due to private parties. Very disappointing.
We were a little disappointed! After wanting to try out this restaurant for quite some time, we finally stopped by early on a Sunday evening. It was not crowded - only one other table while we were there. Appetizers arrived lukewarm - I didn't eat it - should have sent it back. Main dishes were good. Well prepared. I couldn't tell you what we had though, I guess it wasn't that memorable. But pretty setting. Would like to try it one more time.
What an awful experience. The restaurant was almost empty, and this was our third consecutive visit to the place with the chef not on premises. Also, as in one of our previous visits, the place smelled offensively musty as soon as we walked in the door. The "seasonal" menu was exactly the same as it had been in August and September, which was disappointing for the second week of October. Our server, whom we had before and disliked because of her inattentiveness, proved that our poor experience with her was not a fluke. She was never around and very delayed in taking our orders. Shortly after being seated, a busser removed our preset wine glasses and promptly dropped the tray onto the tile floor, smashing glass all around our table, and then had to spend 10 minutes cleaning up shards from under and around us. The amuse bouche was disgusting—a spoonful of apricot gelee that no one at our table liked our even felt compelled to finish. After an hour, our appetizers were finally served to our starving party—and they were ice cold. We decided we had had enough, and we let the hostess know we were leaving, since our server was nowhere to be found. We left and went to a casual restaurant on our way home to celebrate my husband's birthday, certainly not in the style we were expecting, but the food was delicious, fresh, and served in a timely manner. Almost a week has gone by now, and we have not heard from anyone at the Weekapaug Inn about our ruined dinner. Shameful lack of hospitality all the way around; no idea how it's part of Relais & Chateaux. Needless to say, we won't be going back to the Weekapaug Inn and we absolutely won't be recommending it.
This was my second visit to the restaurant. The first time was very impressive, and this time was the opposite. Upon arrival, the valet was AWOL, and we had to wait. There was no one at the reception podium, and we had to wait. Our waitress greeted us and asked for drink orders, and about two minutes later a second waitress greeted us and asked for drink orders. I did not expect this type of confusion at such an establishment. As I was selecting a wine for the table, I asked the wine expert about Italian red wines, and I lost confidence in her as she described a bottle of Montalcino Brunello (I assumed she meant Brunello di Montalcino). I ultimately selected my favorite wine, a Barolo, and unfortunately the bottle was not drinkable. The manager agreed that the bottle was corked and she removed the bottle from our bill. That was the first time I have ever had to return a bottle, and it did not have a positive impact on the dining experience. During the balance of the evening, our waitress would disappear and our water glasses would sit empty. I have to admit the ambiance and view were tremendous. Oh by the way, on our departure the valet was AWOL, and we had to wait.
Disappointing experience, given a great one earlier in summer. First 2 bottles of wine ordered were no available (and took a long time to figure that out.) Restaurant not crowded and service very slow. Starters were very good, and kept food at 3-star. Entrees took far too long after apps removed. NY Strip Steak ordered Med Rare arrived well-done and was fatty, thin, bad cut of meat (more like a poor quality RibEye) - we usually don't send things back, but this was dreadful. Replacement took long, and although temp better, cut still not good. For the price, would think kitchen/mgmt would be embarrassed (we had a 5-star NY strip following eve at Mystic Oyster Club for less $s - night &day diff..). We love the setting & atmosphere, and were very disappointed. Expect more fro m Relais & Chateau and this property.
The service was very good .
The food was just ok.
The wine list is boring .
Would not go back here again .
Outstanding evening, food was exceptional, the service was second to none.
Wonderful food and the location is so beautiful. Highly recommend!
Great dining experience for our anniversary. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and cordial, making us feel very special. Our main server Jocelyn greeted us with a glass of champagne. Nice personal touch. Wonderful surroundings with great water views. Five star quality in food, service, and ambiance.
Always excellent from the moment you walk in!! Always go back!!
Superb meal, the wine is exceptional and the service is perfect. My family and I had a wonderful time there celebrating my daughters birthday.
Food was delicious. I'm just always frustrated that you cannot order off the bar menu unless you're sitting in the 7 bar stools... Or you can sit in the little fireplace area (3 ft away from the bar) and order off of both the dining and the bar menus. It's such a silly rule. I really wanted to order the burger that evening, and I wasn't allowed to since I couldn't order off the bar menu while we were sitting in the dining room.
It's also a shame that they don't offer outdoor dining for dinner. The bar is a good winter spot, however, rather than the dining room, I'll go elsewhere next time.
Always a wonderful experience. Food, service and atmosphere is exceptional. Our favorite restaurant in the area all year round.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner. Food was excellent as was the service.
Beautiful setting. Quiet. Went for Sunday Brunch. Eggs Benedict served on cold plates, thus was almost cold when served. Skimpy fruit garnish-3 blueberries, two raspberries, sliver of melon. 4 pieces of breads (one small danish, one muffin, 2 croissants) for 4 people. Unable to provide additional danish. Had to ask for spoons, salt and additional coffee.
We celebrate our Anniversary and dinner was absolutely wonderful and delicious. The atmosphere was perfect and service great!
Well prepared and delicious food. Excellent service.
Had lobster ravioli, RI fluke and a great chocolate dessert. Good wines by the glass and cocktails. We actually liked it more than its considerably more expensive sibling restaurant at Ocean House.
Second time for dinner. Delicious. Everything was so tasty and fresh. Seemed even better than last year. Husband said best duck he's ever had. Mother in law had shrimp and pasta and it was to die for. Very different. I wish I had ordered hers. I had the steak and it was cooked perfect. The apricot soup was one of the best dishes I have ever enjoyed. A little busy but not a full restaurant and service was a little slow. But we didn't mind since we were enjoying being there.
Excellent food and service. Very comfortable. Beautiful setting.
It had been several years since we had dined at The Weekapaug Inn. It is an elegant setting. The service was outstanding. However there must be a new chef. My wife had lobster ravioli and just didn't care for its taste. In my case it took three tries to taste and select a red wine. My NY sirloin steak was a most unusual style of presentation. It was a different dining experience from we had remembered.
Wonderful presentation, friendly service and great tasting food. My wife birthday celebration was wonderful, service staff went out of their way to make the dinner special.
Great table and service.
Steak was a disappointment.
Gave us a hard time on table selection then sat us next to little kids making kid noise. Then finally gave in and gave us the table we requested initially.
My wife and I celebrated our 50, 51st, 52nd Anniversary here. The food was wonderful, the ambiance is great, the views are beautiful (when not fogged in) and it is hard to beat the welcoming and accommodating staff. Thanks for a great evening.
Excellent service and good food in a beautiful setting!
