The Restaurant at Walhill Farm - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I discovered Walhill Farms last year for our anniversary. We have visited and shared the experience with friends and family several times since our first visit. We prefer the quiet setting compared to the big city dinning and the food is awesome.
Probably one the best dinners out my wife and I have shared in 47 years. Great food, well prepared, top notch service, reasonably priced. Well worth a 50 minute drive to go to Wal-hill Farm. Charcuterie appetizer fantastic, steak perfectly cooked, Cranberry Walnut bread pudding , sooooo good.
Try a Bullitt Rye Manhattan, you will not regret it.

It was our first visit to the farm, and it was definitely worth the drive (we drove over an hour). I had seen several ads/displays for the far in foodie publications and was impressed with the local sourcing and grass feed beef and wanted to give it a try. Even though it was a long drive to get there, I'll definitely go back. The server found us a sheet that described the history of the farm and that added to the experience. The server was quite busy, but we never felt neglected. The micro greens served with the he bruschetta were outstanding. And the steak, what can I say other that it was fantastic. The wine list was rather small, but the selection was good and it wasn't overpriced. I'd definitely recommend "the farm" to anyone.
Overall very good food, atmosphere & service. A little pricey but not unreasonable. Biggest disappointment was asked for a little bigger table to accommodate 4 in a seclude spot to conduct a business meeting so we had some privacy and room to take notes. When we arrived we were the ONLY people in the restaurant and seated at a small table for 4 in the middle of the facility. Some more people arrived later to eat but only a fraction of what the facility would hold - there went the private conversation.
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. Our waitress was very attentive, but not in our faces all the time. We were there for quite some time and they never made us feel like we were overstaying our welcome.
Would definitely like to take my husband there for a date night
Walhill was an excellent experience. The food was outstanding and reasonable for the quality and quantity. I've never understood when people say a steak melts in your mouth, but I do now. The staff was attentive, friendly and informative about the food and history. An enjoyable evening.
Been there many times but this time was the best. In previous mealls,Wahlhill had some help problems but this time the waitress couldn't of been any better. The fresh bread, the apps, salads and your main entrée is over the top . All fresh ingredients really set off every selection. The bread pudding is unforgettable.
We just found out abut Walhill Resturant about 9 months ago but have been back 10 or 12 times and every time it seams better than the one before food, service, atmosphere . Terri was a world of knowledge not only on the food and drinks but also the history and the area. Will be back soon.
Every time we go to Walhill it seams to get better. Everything was great especially the waitress Terry. She is very profession in her knowledge of the food, drinks, history of Walhill and surrounding community she makes it a joy to be there. We will be back Nov. 18 and would like to have her again.
I do have a favor to ask ; I had a delicious corn beef meal for I think brunch would it be possible for you to mail me the recipe?
My first time to Walhill Farm as it is about 1.5 hours from my door, but thought it would be an excellent halfway point to meet up with my son for his birthday. My wife and I have driven past the exit many times but never visited. What a pleasant surprise! T I had the NY Strip, with Obrien Potatoes, and Green beans Almandine...what a delight. My wife had the Verlasso Salmon and said it was excellent. Our son had the Filet Mignon and said it too was amazing. The Crème Brule is the bomb...and the Southern Fried Polenta is perfect for 3. Yes after traveling between Indy and Cincy for over 20 years, it is beyond me why I never found this place until now. A big high five for the Walhill Farm in Batesville. A definite bucket list item of places to dine. *
My wife and I went to the Walhill Farm on Saturday night for the first time.
We were SO pleasantly surprised.
We liked the atmosphere - Terri, our waitress, was so kind and helpful
The food was uniquely different and delicious.
We will go again and encourage others to go also.
First visit. Magnificent ! What a gem hidden in the country. Every course was wonderful and the variety and options were very good. Great place for a leisure dinner with a comfortable atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle but with the food quality of being downtown Cincinnati.
The ingredients were so very fresh from the cocktails to desert. Presentation was elegant and every bite was delicious.
Loved it !! Definitely be going back.
One problem, one person in our party ordered a burger "well done". It was served very pink.
Waitress took and returned with a new one. It was exactly the same. Another person in our party ordered well done burger and it came out perfect first time. Waitress very apologetic and chef came out and was the same. Don't know what the problem was. Out of four of us, the other three meals were great.
We have been to Wahill Farms many times and always enjoyed our experience. Tonight was terrible the service was horrible and the food was cold. This was the second time that only 4pm was available and when we left at 530 the restaurant was empty don't think we will ever go back after this experience. We have always recommended Wahill to everyone we know not anymore.
We were overly pleased with Walhill Farms! The appetizers, salads, main courses, and the desserts were above and beyond what most people today expect in a fine dining restaurant! The atmosphere harkens one back to the days of the "Supper Club". It is obvious that the chef, sous chefs, and complete kitchen staff understand the ultimate goal of any fine restaurant....great, innovative food served with style! As a chef myself, I know the difficulties of inspiring a kitchen staff into understanding that each element of a meal, no matter how small, play a part in the guest's overall impression of a restaurant. We will be back to Walhill Farms! One of the finest steaks and top meal experiences I've had in my many years of "Living to Eat"!
We were very disappointed with our visit this time. In the past, the restaurant was very classy, now too much like a bar setting. We did not want to sit by the band but were told by the hostess we had to sit there or at a table that looked into the kitchen. We stayed by the band and it was difficult carrying on a conversation. There were many empty tables. When I complained to a lady by the name of Gretchen, she offered to move us but by then we had ordered. We were on a business dinner and did not want to make the other couple uncomfortable. This restaurant will not be at the top of our list to recommend.
We were totally disappointed in our dining experience. The bartender did not know how to make basic drinks. Ex. Long Island Ice Tea, Manhattan, Gimlet. People in our group ordered them and said they weren't sure what was used to make them. It took forever to get the drinks. Amber our waitress kept saying they were behind in the bar. The appetizer was the only decent food all night. When the entrees were served, four people got served and several minutes later two people and maybe ten minutes later the last two got their entree. The Three Pig entree sounded very good but was not. The sausage was over cooked, the cutlet was so dry it could barely be cut. Two of the people didn't even have bacon in the entree. The salmon was ok but one person wanted their entree cooked well the other one medium. Unfortunately they were mixed up and no one wanted to wait for them to be fixed. The Cod entree was the best of the evening. We did not want to try dessert we just wanted to leave!!! Last but not least the A/C was not working right and the dining room was very uncomfortable. The waitress said they supposedly fixed it the day before but it still was not working correctly. We certainly will tell everyone we know not to eat here.
