The service we had during our Sunday brunch was worth complimenting. Great attention to detail, excellent service (both friendly, funny and attentive, but not annoyingly attentive) even though our server was very busy!
Friendly staff and food is amazing! Their freshly squeezed juices are amazing!
I had a fantastic time and the ambiance was relaxing and pleasurable. There was a bar upstairs with ping pong tables that was a nice touch. There was no crowd which was fine but it fears a bit boring. I may come back in the future.
Another fine morning to have breakfast at The Standard with co-workers and clients. This place never dissapoints, as always!
Buena comida
My girlfriend and I went there for Valentine’s Day and we are vegetarians so we try to replace one dish on the valentine menu which we originally plan to have instead we were redirected to get the shortcut to mushroom plate it had no flavor mushrooms weren’t cook and my girlfriend wasn’t feeling well after ..on top of that we had to wait for our check for a while ..I was planning to complain to management but after waiting so long and eating disappointing food that cost 21 dollars for a plate full of no flavor I just wanted to leave ..I would want the standard to live up to its standards and improve there food quality and service I wish I would get a refund or apology. Very disappointing for a special night that was planned. I will not return.
Another great morning breakfast at The Standard with fellow co-workers, broker and client.
Not really digging the decor choice in the Restaurant at the standard but food & service was on point. French toast, eggs benny was fantastic and so were the amazing potatoes. Sat outside near the sunken lounge to enjoy our beautiful weather & another round of mimosas but this area is best visited at night since it looks well used in the daylight.
Poor service. Very slow, inattentive, had to send appetizer back because (when it finally arrived) it was delivered with the entree. Location is good, setting is nice. Food was just okay.
Yummmm! I went solo to The Standard for the DineLA event Jan25th, 2018. It was $20USD for an entre and main. Delicious. I had a persimmon ricotta cheese dish + cheesy cream sauce scallops. YUMMMMMM.
The food was very good. It was somewhat pricey, but that is to be expected for a fancy hotel in downtown LA. Definitely worth the trip.
I wouldn't say that I had a bad experience, I think I just expected something more than a basic restaurant experience. Everything was fine overall, but nothing to get excited about. The food was decent, although a bit overpriced, but at dinner time on a Saturday night, I was expecting more ambiance. The rooftop bar had a very festive vibe, but the restaurant had no energy, of any kind, at all.
This is becoming my favorite place to have brunch! Love the service!
Excellent service though the food was just average.
This place was everything I hoped it would be and more! The service was exceptional! And the food was delicious!
We had their Holiday Meal for Christmas dinner. The food was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was modern and comfortable. We will definitely return to try their regular menu.
Thanksgiving brunch with my son. Inspirational Chicken/Waffle. Take this place for what it is. Don't expect Michelin 5 Star. What we got was fantastic food in a chill space/atmosphere.
Just when one thinks that breakfast menu items cannot be improved upon, this restaurant offers a pleasant surprise in bringing back traditional items plus innovative twists on other staples. The omelette and eggs benedict are but 3 examples where a "proprietary twist" added more flavor and nice surprise. The friendly diner 2 table over remarked on the same delightful surprise in his breakfast burrito.
This restaurant is located next to the Los Angeles Central Library off the lobby of a trendy hotel with inside dining and a semi-secluded patio area fit for cozy private conversation or solo dining with a good book or morning paper. The overall ambience is one of quiet privacy (despite 2 rather loud and crude tourists who thankfully stayed a very short time wolfing down their breakfast).
The service was attentive and low key. The food arrived fresh, hot and quickly. The pace was leisurely. My wife and I went for a mid to late Sunday morning repast before heading off to the nearby Ahmanson for a 1 pm matinee and the relaxing pace of the venue was a perfect fit for an unrushed pre-theater meal.
We will be back.
I have lived and worked in DTLA for 12 years. I've been to the Standard's spectacular rooftop a few times, but I did not know about its restaurant. It's a very cool spot with great food.
Very friendly staff. French toast not the best. It was dry. Cocoa was tasty. We enjoyed ourselves on the patio.
Won’t be back. Average in every way. Service was spotty at best. Food was no better than average. Particularly disliked the vinegary Brussels sprouts. Starters , bread, and mains all came at one. Can’t imagine why anyone would choose this place when there are so many better restaurants in the area.
Food and service was great. It was our first time at the Standard and we loved the ambiance.
Food was very salty. Server told me that's the way it's always done. And that nothing was wrong with it. Environment is good but lacks service and leadership. Wouldn't go back again.
Amazing environment, beautiful downtown views, nice separate restaurant with delicious food, I suggest the duck pasta, and amazing service!! Will definitely be back
Very romantic, great food, not as pricy as I thought, very quiet and great music. Very oceans 11 which we loved.
It was fun and the view was awesome, the service at the standard was very helpful.
Great location and super convenient that it opens 24/7.
We had a great time, our waitress was lovely, and the food was delicious !
Needs to be cleaned and renovated.
We were at the top roof bar in The Standard. The food was ok (bites and cocktails), but the service was really bad. A great view location, but nothing more.
It was great experience. Staff was attentive.
Quick service. The steak and salmon was excellent. The food and drinks came out in a timely manner.
Retro, fun and delicious
Great breakfast. Visit every two years from Tn. Saw on open table. Great omelette, server so nice.. would return
We had a musical to attend at the library and decided to try The Standard for lunch. It was perfect! The food was fresh, great selections and strong drinks!
Our reservation was set for 7 at night on a Tuesday. The place was not that busy. Decor and atmosphere was ok, mainly being on the "hip" side. We placed our orders. After about 45 minutes we asked about our meal. Waitress said she would check. After another 15 minutes she finally came back and said their printer was not working so our order never was submitted. It would be awhile longer, so she offered to comp our two glasses of wine. Waited another 20 minutes. Finally asked for manager. Waitress said she would get her. Only one waitress was working the whole restaurant. Finally manager came and apologized but repeated the printer problem. After an hour and a half our meals finally arrived. Needless to say they were unspectacular. Got our check and received several discounts. I would not recommend this restaurant, at least not during a weekday.
I had to choose a restaurant that could accommodate 8 fussy people for dinner on a Saturday night. I was instructed: no Japanese as some had it the night before and a flexible time to arrive. The management is terrific. I changed my reservation time several times with each person empathetic and without judgement. Everything was excellent and fresh. The sea bass and salmon delicious, the salads were amazing and the burgers very good. No complaints from my party to me! Only thank yous . They also enjoyed the bar on the roof with a 360 view of la for the out of Towners, the ping pong tables on the second floor bar, and the disc jockeys in the lobby, 2nd floor and on the roof. Also a movie was playing on the wall across from the pool also on the roof. This older crowd felt hip!
Went for Sunday brunch and it was great!
Not too expensive
We ordered
-chicken&waffels
-eggs benidict
-mimosas for 2 (one bottle of Chandon) they give you fresh orange juice ($24)
Total came out to under $60 !
Totally worth it for a cute Sunday brunch.
The outdoor area is cute
Trivial setting but good kitchen.
Also, do not trust the menu in OpenTable - it's outdated! :(
Our food and drink were spot-on - thank you to our server - she did a great job of making sure our dining needs were met. Delicious bread and butter. Entrees were delicious. We hope to return in the near future.
