The Restaurant at Ponte Ratings and Reviews
The ambiance is inviting, but the weekend crowds do detract from the feeling of getting away. The service is very attentive. The food is good, but not phenomenal. On each dish I've tried there is just a little something that is off or lacking, but overall the food is good. It's odd that they serve bread to every table, but do not provide bread plates. It was the same when our appetizer was served (cheese tray), we were not given appetizer plates.
We come here weekly as we live about 2 miles away. Always on point. Great food. Beautiful scenery. Wonderful service. Really the perfect setting. We never had any issue until this visit. Apparently people think that wineries should be like a library or a spa. My kids were playing with no one around on the lawn near the little gazebo near the vines after we had lunch with family from out of town. A couple came walking down and started heckling us... “at a winery?! Really?” They were angry we brought our kids. Ridiculous. It’s a restaurant that allows kids in our neighborhood and we frequent this restaurant during daytime hours. My kids were quiet the entire lunch. It’s not like we walked them into a bar and they started screaming. Some people.
The Restaurant at Ponte came highly recommended so we booked it to celebrate my birthday. After enjoying a white wine tasting, we were seated in the restaurant on a lovely January day. Note that all the seating is outdoors, so this could pose a problem on cool or rainy days. Service was great, but the food was mediocre. The bread and its green scallion dipping sauce tasted wonderful, but the bread was served cold like it had just come out of the refrigerator. Our appetizers (calamari and ham cheddar soup) were both so over salted the we could not finish them. Our main dishes (duck panini and cioppino) were both oddly flavored. The humboldt fog cheese was used as a sauce on the panini and spoiled what would otherwise have been a delicious dish. The cioppino was flavored with allspice which overwhelmed the dish. We will not be back until there is a new chef with a better palate.
I’ve come here plenty of times, it’s actually our go to place when in town for wine tasting. The food is always delicious but the service is what made our experience unpleasant. We had to look for our server a couple of times to have her take our drink order, food order, and our dessert order. We would have ordered more drinks but she never touched or maintenances our table. One of the times we looked for her I wanted to order the soup of the day because the gentlemen next to me had it and it looked amazing. We asked the busser if she could please get our server and she didn’t say yes or ok she just walked away, 5 minutes later she comes to the table and I order my soup and she says “ok is that everything you need” ...we all looked at each other in shock at her snarkiness attitude. It was unfortunate and unappreciated.
My niece was married at Ponte and I have dined there several times since. The food was always excellent but disappointing on 12/28 when I ordered the tomato bisque soup that tasted liked Costco s and a small Cesar salad which was drowning in dressing and not fresh. The Muscato wine is great and my friend liked her pizza. I have had the ravioli and salmon before, both excellent. Perhaps bad menu choices on my part, but not items I thought would be badly prepared.
have eaten here for years. service and atmosphere outstanding Food this time lacking . cool sweet potato fries . two small wine country salads with Very Small portions and uneven ingredients . one with no cranberries or pecans The other overloaded .will return and hope for return to previous quality .
My boyfriend and I came here for his birthday dinner. The out door dining is romantic around the holidays because they have it decorated with lots of lights. It was very cold that night but the heat lamps did the job. The food was delicious and the service was great.
Nice, unique place for sure. It was a little cold outside, even though we were under a heater. The food was fantastic! My only nit was they didn't ask us if we wanted wine (they are a winery!) and the food came out too fast so we felt a little rushed. It was a nice experience and I would go back.
Our first time, it turned out to be a hot day. They seated us at a table in the sun, then said they could lower the curtain. I really wanted a table in the shade. Well, the curtain went down, but so did the sun which was shining right on me and very hot. Other than that discomfort, the wine was good; food was delicious; and they brought me a birthday dessert!
We were celebrating our 5th year anniversary! Ponte winery was recommended to us by a friend ... I was trying to find a wine for my husband to drink because he doesn't like wine and Jake was amazing ... found 3 different wines for my husband... everything from the Hello to th Goodbye was a phenomenal experience and well worth the drive for us !
I have belonged to Ponte Winery for many years, and have never been dissapointed. The
restaurant on this visit was, as always, wonderful. And, their wine, excellent. I always
reccommend people visit Ponte Winery when they are visiting, as well as people who live
in the area. You will never go wrong!
Food was delicious and service was prompt. We had reservations and were seated right away. We ordered the verde pizza and duck Panini. Both options were good, but very sweet so regretting doing both. The verde was a bit too fig forward. Asked for recommendations with wine and we were both pleasantly surprised with the choices provided to us. Overall, nice little lunch spot.
Awesome place to celebrate my birthday!!! The Arancini appetizer with lobster was outstanding, and definitely not to be missed. Fortunately, there was an even number of them, as I would have been more than willing to wrestle for that last one..lol!!! Nice variety of wines too. The outdoor patio setting was lovely and spacious, and parking was easy. There is also a wine tasting room and hotel on the property.
