Food was good, service was fine but only had patio dining and it was a 90+ degree day. We were uncomfortable.
What a special experience! The precision of the plating and presentation was beautiful, the flavor combinations and culinary execution was fabulous. Yes, it is a bit of a drive from Paso Robles, but worth the beautiful journey. Not cheap, but not overpriced.
Amazing afternoon at Justin started with the Justification and finished with the Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Fabulous !
Our guests absolutely enjoyed the day at Justin. Will be back again soon!
Great wine, food, and service! The grounds were very pretty and we had a nice, relaxing lunch!
We really enjoyed our brunch at Justin! The food was good and it Was a great value, especially given the picturesque setting / views. The people were very accommodating and accepting (staff and patrons alike) towards our 14 month old son, which was nice (because we get dirty looks at other places). Oh, and the wine was awesome as well!
Good food paired with even better wines! Staff is friendly and the view of the garden is excellent. A nice way to end a tasting with a glass of your favorite Justin wines.
It's a far drive up the mountain, but it's worth it. Wonderful scenery, locally sourced creative cuisine and outstanding service. We loved every moment of it. Also great for lunch.
Food was delicious and beautiful view of wine vines.
MelB was terrific as our server. Great service and interesting to chat with. Justin restaurant definitely requires a return visit.
Beautiful setting. Excellent cuisine. Outstanding service.
Wonderful way to enjoy the Justin Winery experience and have an afternoon meal at the same time. It's a nice drive out to the Winery, so plan ahead and leave plenty of time for the scenic route and if arrive early you can sample a flight. Beautiful outdoor dining on the back patio with vineyards terracing up the hillside behind. Enjoy a Premium Flight with your meal for a food pairing pleasure.
Kirby and Chef Paul are fantastic!
We celebrated our 34th anniversary at Justin Vineyards and Winery at lunch today.
“Mel” was our waitress. She was very personable. She helped us pick out wonderful food to eat.
We shared a salad with a nutty quinoa on top of it. Apparently they prepare the quinoa and then roast it. The taste and texture we are both fabulous.
My wife had the chicken dish. She said she had never tasted chicken like that. The flavor and texture reminded her of a very tender and well prepared pork loin. I had the ravioli. It was also excellent.
After dinner, Mel brought the chef to our table so we could complement him, and he wished us a happy anniversary.
Overall, I would say that eating lunch at Justin Vineyards and Winery today was one of the best meals of our life.
We have already started planning to spend our next special occasion with them.
A complete 10 on every level! The ambience, setting, and decor were stunning. The service with clear descriptions of everything served as well as making sure we were comfortable was perfect. The food ... impeccably prepared! No attention to detail was over looked.
We did the wine pairing and it was perfect! Blew me away!
The chef came out to meet us after the meal and it was an awesome conversation.
It will be an experience I will not forget!
Great setting amongst the vines! Nice food and excellent service. The bathrooms were very clean and stylish!!
Our family enjoyed a fabulous Sunday brunch on the patio with incredible views of the vineyard. The food was delicious and pairing it with Justin's wine varieties maximized our enjoyable experience. The setting is lovely and relaxing, the perfect way to spend an afternoon!! Check out the avocado toast-yum!!!
The food is very good, the service is excellent and the ambiance is outstanding. However, at a price approaching $500 for two we would expect a much better meal. I would recommend the restaurant to a friend for the atmosphere and overall ambiance with a caution that the food, while quite good, is not up to the standards that the price of the meal implies.
Had high expectations for our special dinner during our stay at the Justin Inn. My husband and I both enjoyed the cauliflower lime soup. He also liked the halibut ceviche and octopus, I did not. We agreed that the lamb chop was quite fatty — we can’t remember dessert. We live in LA and have had much more interesting and flavorful meals at multiple restaurants which were considerably less costly.
The service and ambiance were nice, the food presentation was good, but we would not return. After we had made our reservation, we heard from another traveler that they were not impressed with the food and would not recommend.
Justin is a great place to eat and enjoy fantastic wine, beer and even champagne. I would highly recommend it for lunch. I haven’t eaten there for dinner but i’m Sure it’s a five star eatery for dinner as it is for lunch.
Everything was great after we were seated. Our hostess was super as was the food. We just had one hiccup in service——we had a reservation and were left standing waiting for an unusually long time while the waiter sat a large group and stayed to chat with them. A line began to form behind us, so we had to ask inside for assistance. Again, in the end it was still a great lunch.
Great food, great wine and great location. Not much more one could ask for or expect. Will definitely return.
Brilliant! Embodies what you'd expect. Wonderful food, fine wine. They just didn't pair as well as expected. Obviously there's a limited selection of wines due to it being at a winery (only use theirs or affiliated). It seems the master chef did not take this into consideration and made what he wanted then tried to pair what was available. I feel he should switch this and make the perfect food for the wines he selected to really accommodate what we are paying for, Justin wines paired to perfection with amazing cuisine.
We had a chef's choice 7 course pairing with the reserve. The portions got a bit big by the end and was hard to fully enjoy. Especially since they were paired w nearly full glasses haha. I suggest you skip lunch and dine early.
This is well worth the trip and cost. We will be doing this again although without the reserve pairing as I don't see it as a necessity after having at least once.
The first thing to remember is that the restaurant Is part of a winery. It does not succeed on its own. We ate lunch there on a mid-week day. The service was very relaxed, i.e. don't expect someone to come to you. We had reservations and waited 10 minutes for the host to come to the "wait here " podium. We then sat at our table for 15 mins. and finally flagged a wait person who was surprised that we hadn't been helped although she served tables on both sides of us and there were two wait persons for the restaurant. The food was good but very limited and rather expensive for lunch. We had the burger and soup of the day and the mushroom pasta. All well made. Add in two glasses of the winery wine and you're looking at a bill north of $125.
Excellent food, exceptional wine, lovely setting in the vineyards. Knowledgeable staff. Outstanding overall experience.
In the middle of nowhere, in a beautiful vineyard in Paso Robles wine country, is the best restaurant for 100 miles. The setting is spectacular, the food is inventive, delicious and well cooked, the service is perfect. For a 5 course tasting menu, the price is a relative value. The wines are really good and fairly priced. The only issue is getting there and, more important, getting home. But it's worth figuring it out. Truly a special place.
Please bring truffle fries back! I came all of the way from Shreveport, LA and was sad to find out there were no truffle fries!
excellent food and service. Reservation was accepted and a good table was located.
Lovely setting and ambiance. Good food, great service.
We love coming to Justin for a relaxing meal and some wine. Always a pleasure to visit the winery and meet their friendly staff :)
We had a lovely late lunch, followed with a tasting. I had not been back in several years, but I definitely won’t wait as long for my next visit! An impeccable setting with delightful food, wine, and exceptional service.
Paid over $500.00 for dinner for two with wine. Service was excellent, food was not worth the bother to go, small portions and not very good. Wine was OK but not worth the price charged.Would never go again or recommend to a friend.
Very nice patio with heaters. Food and service were very good. Wine was excellent. A nice experience.
We had a great time. The manager Timothy was great. Service by Mel was great. They made us feel special. We would love to go back!
One of our favorite places to dine in Paso Robles. Local California menu and always good.
Loved it. Food was outstanding.
Absolutely outstanding! Great wine, food and service! Amazing atmosphere! Loved it and can’t wait to go back!
If you are visiting the Winery, highly recommend eating lunch there. Service great, wines and food delicious! Cheeseburger with bacon and egg was the bomb! Great with glass of Malbec!
Myself and 2 girlfriends enjoyed a tasting and lunch on the patio over the past weekend. The tasting experience was great and the restaurant staff was very accommodating when we ran an hour past our original reservation after our tasting ran longer than we had planned. My friends shared the turkey sandwich and a chopped salad and were very happy with their choice. I however was disappointed with my lunch. I ordered the cheeseburger. I asked the server if their medium cooked burger was a true medium or if it leaned toward medium well. She said that they always come out pink throughout, so I went with medium. Unfortunately my burger not only arrived well done, but the patty as well as the bun were burnt to a crisp. Also, the burger does not come with a side, so we ordered a side of fries to share, which arrived cold. For $18.00 I was shocked that I also had to pay extra for fries.
I think I’ll choose another lunch spot next time in Paso Robles.
Service at our table was extremely slow with having to ask for items multiple times. The tables next to us had a different waitress and she was more attentive to her tables. We enjoyed our food and hopefully next time we have a better waitress.
5 course wine pairing dinner with friends. The food was great and the wine exceptional. There were only 10 people dining that night and our server, Rachel, was knowledgeable and wonderful. It was a very special evening and we would do it again.
Beautiful scenery. All the food was delicious and have no complaints. Of course the wine was outstanding. The only caveat was that the service was a bit slow to start, we waited roughly ten minutes for a server to greet our table and take our orders, but soon after we were greeted the drinks and the meal were delivered in a timely manner. The host, server assistant were very friendly and personable as well. Thank you all very much for a wonderful stay!
