About The Restaurant at Alderbrook
Our location brings out the best in fresh local seafood, dry aged beef, world-class wines and waterfront views - making The Restaurant at Alderbrook a destination in itself.
The interior setting of The Restaurant at Alderbrook takes its inspiration from the outdoors with warm colors of chocolate brown and sage green representing the gardens and lawn of the resort. Floor-to-ceiling windows and multi-levels amplify views of the brilliant shore and snow-capped peaks of the Olympic Mountains.
The cuisine showcases local seafood harvested from Puget Sound and Hood Canal. After all, our shores are encrusted with oysters, our docks lined with mussels, and our sea teems with salmon.

The Restaurant at Alderbrook Ratings and Reviews
Had several good meals here while I was staying at the resort including carne asada tacos, crab mac & cheese and the champagne pear salad. Some items were notably lacking in salt, and I am not one who usually adds salt to meals, but once added it tasted good.
I understand that New Years Eve can be crazy for restaurants, so I've learned to lower my expectations on my dining experience. I have to admit; even going into dinner with low expecations I was extremly disapointed with our service. Our waitress completly ignored us once she took our dinner order. She never checked back to see if our dinner was ok....salmon was cold, pork chop was overcooked....we had to flag somebody down for water, wine and coffee. She delivered our check before we had dessert.
I was disappointed this year. We had gone last year and really enjoyed it so we went back. I had made reservations early and we were place at table that was very small and in the middle of a walk way. When it was mentioned the hostes manager came out and said there was a table in the back and that is the best they could do. I did point out there was a table by the window open but he could not accommodate us with that one even though through out our meal no one sat there. Also they got out order wrong when they brought our food so they had to take it back and we had to wait for them to prepare the correct one. No one even came over and offered us an said anything to us. Sorry we will not be coming back.
Christmas brunch was disappointing. It started at 8am, our reservation was for 10am. The food looked like it had been out for hours. All the hot dishes were covered so you had to lift the lid on each to see what it was. Placards would've been so easy. My husband ordered the cinnamon french toast, which he didn't really like. Besides being too sweet, the cinnamon roll was the size of a dinner plate and about 4" tall. Way too much food for an entree. It wasn't worth the price of $39 per person and we won't do it again.
Over-the-top prices for good food -- 5-star prices for 3-star food. Compared to other restaurants in its class, you're going to spend much more here. Plus, too many kids running around in the restaurant throwing paper airplanes until we spoke up. So, we chose to have our breakfast the next morning in the lounge. Food is good again, but still overpriced, even for breakfast. A great place to stay, but the restaurant needs to up its quality. Maybe, the restaurant staff should visit Cave B, which has excellent food for much better and cheaper prices.
We went to Alderbrook for our 31st wedding anniversary and it was very nice. They had a card on the table signed by the staff and we had a lovely table by the window. The food was very good and presentation was nice. The menu had enough choices but not so many as to overwhelm. Overall the experience was good and we would return.
The food was very good, had the rib steak dinner. I loved the romantic atmosphere. Would come again the best dish they have is the Grand Marnier Prawns. My husband & I come here for lunch quite a bit as it is very good, I love their hamburgers & Grand Marnier Prawns.
I thought the service was a bit rushed for the price point of this restaurant. Also, the dining room was practically empty, so there was no need to rush us through a leisurely dinner. The entrees were good, but were standard dishes found in most steakhouses/business casual restaurants. No real standouts on the menu that begged to be tried.
In all, a fine experiece, just nothing earth-shattering.
I had the Scallops and they were perfect! My wife had the Filet Mignon and loved it! We were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and were 35 weeks pregnant. The staff did a great job making us feel special. I asked them before out reservation if they had any sparkling cider and they made sure they had one for us and brought it out on ice with champagne glasses. It was very romantic. Great Job!!!
Very poor quality food - not enough seasoning, poor presentation, large portions without any taste to it. You would get generic plate with plainly cooked fish or meat (grilled or fried) and standard steamed or baked vegetables. This is not for foodies. However atmosphere is good and view during the day is great.
Food was very good, especially the appetizer prawns, but I expected more out to the service. This was our 21st wedding anniversary and the waitress took our order for a bottle of wine and then left it on the table unopened for at least 5 minutes. When she asked if everything was okay, I did politely mention that service was a little slow.
The price reflects the location of the resturant more than the food. Each entree is huge portion-wise, perhaps, to justify the price. The issue with that is that by the time you are done with any item (even a starter) you are almost full - and kind of bored of eating the same item. A group of 4 or more people can share few entrees to get around it. If you are planning a 2-person multi-course dinner then be aware of the portions. All dishes we tried were well prepared so there is no complain in that front.
Specifically, Couscous stuffed pepper has a lot of Couscous and pretty much nothing else sans the pepper. The dish can be improved by balancing the plate with more choices (e.g. vegetable, nuts, etc.).
This is a review of your "Add a private note to the restaurant" feature. I wasn't able to complete my note as it limits the number of characters I can type. So, I will complete it here: "there for another five minutes before I was approached and my order taken. I go into bars to drink, not sit around being thirsty."
ONLY eat here if you want room service or don't want to move after being in the spa all day. The food is not that tasty and too large of portions for price and quality. No real options for people with dietary constraints and no healthy options. (even though while we were there a health spa retreat was happening???)
With a couple weddings going on that weekend, the restaurant was a "tid" louder than we would have liked, but our waiter was absolutely wonderful! He made our 15th wedding anniversary special with all the "little" things throughout dinner. Thank you Alderbrook for hiring Chris!
My husband and I went for dinner and breakfast the next morning. Food was amazing! Very delicious and beautiful! We were taking pictures of our food! The service was top notch as well, as both our servers were very kind, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our dinner servers name was aleiha, (sp?) She was very sweet and genuine! She was very attentive and made our experience memorable. Our breakfast server the next morning, Joyce, was also a gem! Very outgoing and a natural conversationalist. She sat us at the best seat in the place because it had an incredible view! I couldn't decide on what I wanted to eat, because their were so many dishes to choose from! She was so patient and said to take my time! We definitely will be back!
The Restaurant at Alderbrook was excellent! A little on the expensive side, but the food was delicious and in large portions. The only thing I can complain about is that my husband and I were there celebrating our one year anniversary - We sat down for dinner at 6pm, probably the best table in the house with a great view of the water, however not two minutes later the waitress sat a loud group of about 6 older folks at the table right next to us when the restaurant was almost completely vacant. Completely spoiled the mood and the ambience of what otherwise could have been a unforgettable dinner experience.
