The interior setting of The Restaurant at Alderbrook takes its inspiration from the outdoors with warm colors of chocolate brown and sage green representing the gardens and lawn of the resort.     Took a mini staycation to Belfair. Everyone raved about Alderbrook and the food, so we went. Im a foodie. The location was nice overlooking hood canal. The day we came there was live music. We sat inside, and it was actually pretty loud inside. Once the live music was done, it was rather quiet in the restaurant. The grounds are nice, and the view is excellent. The service was good. Our waiter was very nice. I think our expectations were fairly high in regards to the food, after everyone raved about this place. Which may have been the problem. Overall, the three of us felt the food was overall okay/good. We assume this is one of the nicer spots in the area, why people rave over it. Would we come back and order the same food? Probably not...and we ordered the "favorites".

    The food is excellent, as is the service. However, everything is ridiculously overpriced...French toast with two small sausages costs $26.00, coffee (nothing special) is $4.50. A service charge of 20 percent is added, but there is still a "tip" space, which is deceptive for diners who don't notice the automatic charge.

    We had a nice post-birthday get-away to the Alderbrook which included a lovely dinner. The halibut was AMAZING and the squash bake was terrific as well. The service was nice and the atmosphere was charming and quiet. We willbe back again soon!

    I’ve been here a few times and it’s always been a little off, but I never had a reservation and was just grateful to get in for a meal. We had two adults and a toddler, which is a tough situation, but we’re so disappointed by the food and the service. It took more than 15 minutes to take our drink order even though we were one of the first few parties to be sat for the evening. The server seemed to save us for last which was the worst with a toddler. Also one of our dishes was prepared wrong, the mushrooms were missing the reduction sauce and the server told us it was meant to be honey and brought us some. The honey turned an inedible dish to barely edible, but why didn’t she know about the sauce? The restaurant should really work to be more family friendly because the resort tries really hard.

    Simply amazing Devine food!! Our waitress was the best- great knowledge, recommendations, attentive. Too bad the outdoor patio was closed- the views there are stunning, but was quiet inside. Loved it!!

    Lovely dining experience. Our table service was outstanding. Our entrées took longer than other tables that arrived after us; however, the food was delicious. We would dine here again, and recommend it to others.

    Our food was very good. I had the crab pasta and my husband had the prawns and grits. Our friends had the halibut. We felt the menu was a somewhat limited. Our server was very nice. We enjoyed ourselves and love staying at Alderbrook. We ate here because there aren't many options in the area.

    We typically love the Alderbrook restaurant but this time it was off. Way off. Even the crème brûlée was soupy. We decided to skip breakfast. We’ll be back down the road and hopefully it will be back to high standards.

    The setting is divine. The waitstaff were warm, friendly and super professional. The Salmon benedict I had was ordinary. Very skimpy on the hollandaise, the salmon was chunky with chewy edges, the English muffin tasted as tho it had been fried on a greasy griddle, and worst of all the poached egg was hard. Dinner here has been excellent; this breakfast was below standard. I'm not sure I would recommend...

    The food options were what I expected but the crab spaghetti, duck confit, and egg Benedict for breakfast the next day were all void of flavor. I had to use a lot of salt & pepper in these dishes. I’m glad that the restaurant included gratuity for support their hard working staff. However, I’m disappointed on the blandness of the food.

    The Grand Marnier Prawns were fantastic. Our Salmon and Crab entrees were perfectly prepared and flavorful. Service couldn't be better. All in all a fabulous evening.

    We love dining at Alderbrook! Dinner was excellent and the service is always really special. You can tell the staff loves being there. Our food was incredible and they really treated us well for our anniversary. We dined for dinner but we particularly love their breakfast too.

    Great service. Accommodating. Provided a nice gesture for my wife and who were celebrating an anniversary. The menu was wide and varied. Lots of choices based on mood or need. Prices also ranged from reasonable to what you should expect. The food itself was most enjoyable! Delicious, regional and we'll prepared.

    Beautiful location with excellent food that is creative and unique. Service from entering the door until leaving was top notch. Food was well priced for a Sunday brunch. Only challenge for us was road closures en route.

    Had a lovely anniversary dinner at Alderbrook. We both ordered the filet mignon it was cooked perfectly. The oyster shooters were good, oysters were VERY large which was hard given I’m not a huge oyster fan…but enjoyed them! Espresso martinis were fantastic and the wine list had just the right mix and selection, not overwhelming. For anyone with dietary restrictions, fear not, they have many options and are very accommodating. I have celiac and was pleasantly surprised by the GF selections! The ambiance was great, we had a table near the window, and the scenery is amazing! Our server was attentive but not annoying, very nice gentleman. Also want to note that everyone was very welcoming to us as a gay couple…not always our experience in this area.

    We have had reservations for a month and we’re seated in the bar which was noisy. I ordered the Louie which was mostly lettuce and 4 shrimp… hardly any other condiments.

    Alderbrook is a beautiful setting and the staff is friendly and efficient. However, the fish and chips dish was easily forgettable. I often order this when having lunch away from home, giving me the opportunity to compare restaurants with this particular plate. The cod was fresh tasting, but was trapped in a overly fried batter dripping with oil. The coleslaw was dry and not worth eating. The French fries were cool and limp. The truffle dip was interesting to taste on a piece of bread. I would recommend the resort as a pleasurable experience, but I would suggest sticking to a breakfast choice on the menu. Also, the service charge was outrageous.

    The service was great. The Caesar salad was delicious. Only complaint the dressing was bland and really couldn’t tell if there was a dressing. We also had the lentil bowl. It was okay. Again very little seasoning could be tasted. The roasted broccoli was unbeatable. It was very dry and impossible to chew. Steamed would have been tastier. A little pomegranate molasses drizzle would have elevated the dish. A simple recommendation. Beautiful setting. I would recommend the restaurant to a meat eating person.

    What a wonderful experience! We stayed in one of thr cabins for 3 days and ate dinner on our first night. The salmon was perfection (we ordered it medium rare), and the Brussel sprout side was delicious! We had breakfast on our last morning there and got the hang town hash! The oysters were plentiful and juicy, and the potatoes were crispy and luscious. I recommend you split it. It's huge portion! And the service was so great!

    First time visiting the resort for dinner. The staff was very understanding and listened to our opinion. They did make us a free dessert to make up for the dinner. Dinner was very bland, very small portions. Our clam chowder was okay. The halibut and king salmon were both dried out. The sides were overly charred and the salad was not green at all. We personally will not be dining there again. The resort itself was absolutely beautiful.

    Was disappointed with the food. When we booked our hotel it was in part because of the menu at this restaurant. It was my first time in this restaurant, and was the first time I had sent food back to the kitchen in over a decade for not tasting right. My wife and I stayed at the hotel and ate here on consecutive nights. The first night we thought it was just ok and that maybe the things we didnt enjoy (The duck, halibut) were just poor choices on our part. For lack of nearby options we decided to give it another chance the following night. She ordered the Dungeness crab pasta and the lemon overpowered the dish to the point of sending it back. I ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked properly but was flavorless. We tried the oyster shooters and clams and normally these are a favorite for us but the spices used made them taste a bit off. Even the bread that is served tastes weird. The staff is friendly and the view is great, but we will not eat here again.

    We were celebrating duel birthdays, and let me just say we could not have been more pleased. First the menu offered a large variety of gluten free options ( on guest is highly sensitive to gluten ). The server, Charlie, was absolutely AMAZING!!!! He was fun, funny, personable, and very witty. Along with the food and the views our server made the night very enjoyable and memorable. Oh, the Manhattans and the bottle of wine helped too. We are very grateful we chose Alderbrook to celebrate these important birthdays.

    The restaurant is spoiled by very poor acoustics. The noise level is very high, when fully occupied, and conversation very difficult, if not impossible, for the (somewhat) hearing impaired. Probably best to avoid peak times if this is a problem for you. Food was good, and the selection interesting. Be sure to ask for the second, smaller, menu, as this gives further options. Staff were excellent, polite and efficient. Note that a 20% service charge in included in your bill, and that it is still suggested that you leave a tip. Given the quality of the staff, you might feel inclined to do so.
