The Restaurant at Alderbrook
The interior setting of The Restaurant at Alderbrook takes its inspiration from the outdoors with warm colors of chocolate brown and sage green representing the gardens and lawn of the resort. Floor-to-ceiling windows and multi-levels amplify views of the brilliant shore and snow-capped peaks of the Olympic Mountains.
The cuisine showcases local seafood harvested from Puget Sound and Hood Canal. After all, our shores are encrusted with oysters, our docks lined with mussels, and our sea teems with salmon.

Great food and great ambiance. The view was spectacular.

Delicious food art on a plate.
Unique delicious food art on a plate.
Case in point : the beet salad. Now I have had them before, but never such a well composed and mindfully crafted one as this.
What appeared to be caviar scattered about the greens and clinging to the bite-sized chunks of golden beet turned out to be some sort of balsamic food science experiment that resulted in tiny little balls of the stuff. What fun!
And my main : Spaghetti squash cradling other tasty friends from the garden with Romesco sauce components hanging around on the side.
Portions? : Generous ! No "4 bites and your done" fru-fru main courses served here!
We love Alderbrook Restaurant and have been going for years. We meant good friends there for Sunday Brunch and it didn't disappoint. The Bloody Mary's are a meal in themselves but I get virgin so don't know how the alcohol one is, but we saw lots going out. Service was good as always and we will be going back soon.
Food and service are always great the view is amazing.
Excellent food choices and specialty drinks. Personable service.
A great dinner for our 32nd Anniversary
One of the main dish was extremely salty.
The other main dish overcooked the fish and felt very dry.
By far the most delicious steelhead I've eaten. Service was top-tier and the experience and ambiance were both wonderful. Definitely worth the scenic drive.
Overall good experience. Nice location and good waiter. Food was...interesting. Chicken and vege squash were excellent; pork ribs were mostly beans (not enough meat for the price) but the worst meal EVER was a chicken stir fry. One of our party could not eat it, and another took a bite and spit it out. Not sure who or why thought the combo and spices were ok to serve? Extremely salty and inedible. BUT this was overshadowed by a beautifully decorated birthday cake for a 60th birthday in our party.
We are locals and have visited this restaurant a few times. We love the staff and the location ALWAYS ....but the food is less dependable. In the past we have raved over the potatoes but this time they weren’t light, hot, crispy and decadent but more grainy and broken, quite a disappointment. The brunch’special’ was frittata which was only tasty in the middle, far too browned overall with really dry dry edges. Eggs Benedict was adequate but the sauce just wasn’t as special as in visits past. Last time we had lunch (Reuben) the bread was soggy. Not so bad as to send it back but also not really right either. Kudos on the tempura vegetables in the bar though. Perfectly scrumptious. All in all we will definitely be back but we’ve started holding our breath hoping for improved consistentancy and quality from the kitchen.
The property and restaurant were gorgeous. However, our meal did not meet our expectations or seem to achieve a status that one would expect from a resort. My husband and I and my daughter and her boyfriend were there for Valentine's Day. When I made the reservation, it indicated that there would be a guitarist performing and we booked a dinner reservation thinking this was a special event. However, we never saw or even heard a guitarist? I ordered a "Love Salad" that was priced at $14.00. It was literally 3/4 a cup of very bitter greens, a dozen pomegranate seeds, and maybe 10 over-toasted hazelnuts. There was some real money made on those salads that night. :/ My husband ordered the Caesar which was quite a bit larger, but it arrived with an anchovie or sardine layed across the top of it. He is NOT a fish eater, and while we understand that those are used in the dressing, the entire salad was permeated with a "fishy" taste and he could not eat it. I ordered some tempura vegetables that were delicious I must say and our kids reported that their dessert - a mint chocolate dome was delicious! However, we all had water to drink and left with a bill in the amount of $220.00 with the tip and HUNGRY! We would definitely never go back to eat. Disappointing considering we drove 4 hours across state for the occasion. :/ The service and waitstaff were exceptional though!!!
Food descriptions were more interesting than the food itself.
Dishes were very overpriced for what you received.
Service was very good , The setting and scenery were very nice.
This was my third time at the Alderbrook and we love the resort and casual vibe of the place.
Unfortunately, the food was disappointing again this time. The hummus plate was served with floppy, pickled vegetables: not ideal for eating with a dip, and I ordered the delicata squash dish and apparently the squash was cooked with all its seeds intact. I had multiple seeds in each bite and ended up giving up on it. Not worth the effort. They took the dish off our bill and our server was sweet about it and apologetic. Just a big bummer when out for a special night. It’s a little pricey for the quality and the menu is limited in my humble opinion.
Always a wonderful experience - fresh and local ingredients
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and service, would definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice evening out... You won't be disappointed.
Amazing food & service
The addition of live soft music was very enjoyable.
Despite being fully booked service was very prompt, cheerful, and courteous. Great place for a small group dinner.
fantastic: food! price!
restaurant rates, not resort rates. Even the 3 room service meals we had were free of -the normal- ridiculous service fees you find at resorts.
Wonderful dinner. Attentive service. Succulent Hood Canal oysters. My wife loved the risotto and I’m not sure that the duck wasn’t the best duck I’ve ever had.
We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary. The bartender created a special drink that was delicious, the service was wonderful and we were treated to a special celebration dessert. We had a lovely table overlooking the canal and the service was really wonderful. We still have fond memories of our dinner, and are thinking of returning next year for the same celebrations.
Was the last reservation of the night. Service was awesome food was great. The duck was delicious. Our new favorite place.
Not made for a quiet evening, it was pretty loud. Food was good, but seemed rushed. Like it was prepared to quickly and sacrificed some quality in the process. Breakfast was really good! Dinner was a little rough but good.
Great food and setting. Just a little loud with the table next to us. They were having a great time so it’s all good!
Great food and service!! Won't be disappointed!! 👍
Our meal and service was outstanding. We have been going to brunch, happy hour, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve for almost ten years, we have always had a wonderful experience. The staff is outstanding and the food has always been great.
The service and special New Years menu was amazing!
The food is overpriced for what you get. The fact the hire is the only fine dining option for miles around let’s them charge that I guess.
The food was tasty. Salad of mixed greens was
Very good. However I never like a fine dining place to serve cold bread and hard butter. The French 75 cocktail I had was over sweetened. Couldn’t taste the alcohol. Breakfast
was average and also pricey. And the morning coffee was cold until our waiter scurried to bring us a hot mug once we mentioned it.
The service was attentive. We appreciated the wait staff. But the meal was not strong enough to get us to go back for dinner on our second night so we cooked veggie burgers in our cabin instead and were just as happy.
When I pay that price I expect to love everything about the meal.
We had an after Christmas spa retreat with family and had a wonderful stay and meals were really good. We plan to make this a tradition each year.
Great service and great ambience. Was very disappointed in the varieties of food for this Christmas Buffet. . .which, in my opinion, was overpriced ($49 for adults)
I will return to dine at the Alderbrook as I have many times over the years. . .but I will always order off the menu, and will not choose to return to the Buffet.
We the for the holiday brunch. Service was slow even though not all tables full. Food was sparse and much of it was cold. Was recommended by family friends but the experience this year does not sound like it matches the quality of past years. Not impressed for the drive, the cost, and the hype. It was OK.
Christmas Brunch and the service was awesome!
We went for Christmas Day brunch. The entire experience was wonderful and we wholeheartedly recommend it. The food is delicious, and there are many different options for all dietary needs. Everything was labeled well.
We all had a wonderful meal. The service was excellent. Michelle was our server she is a excellent server. We were a party of 5 and meals were all excellent. We had Ravioli, Pork Shank, Ribeye Steak, and Surf and Turf with Shrimp.
I can’t say enough about our wonderful experience! Thank
We had the most spectacular meal here. The portions were huge- we devoured a platter of brussel sprouts- I swear it was 2 feet wide. The service was wonderful, and everything was set up like a christmas wonderland. We came just for dinner, and I'm so glad we did, all in all it was a lovely evening and I would love to come back. Wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion.
The view and the ambiance are unbeatable. The service was very good. One of us had an excellent dinner, but the other was overcooked.
Alderbrook resort is magical and the restaurant is fabulous. The food was wonderful!!! I ate there 2 nights for dinner and both of my meals (the scallops one night, waigu beef sliders -on lettuce for me) were incredible. Service is also fabulous. Drinks incredible with a very fun, personable bartender. Great people all around the resourt. Love love love it there.
Some of the clams were undercooked. The pork shank with the white beans was excellent and excellent value. The five-spiced duck was WAY over-salted - had it been my dish I'd have sent it back right away. The ice cream was good and exceptional value. And BTW that Olympic Mountain Ice cream apparently comes from Sheldon, about ten miles away, perhaps your server should know that ... and yes, of course I know I can google it. This is a mixed review for a very mixed dining experience.
