The Reserve Steakhouse - Harrah's Joliet
Jessica is amazing
We are regulars at The Reserve. Once again, the meal and service were excellent. You won't find a better quality prime rib for the money anywhere in the southern suburbs.
The food was very good The waitress was new to the restaurant and didn’t seem to know how to wait on customers
Excellent!!!! Service, food, ambiance...just perfect!
First, kudos to the mixologist. I will say that the Manhattans were perfect. Also, the server was very sweet. However, the food was awful. After I had sent the salad away, a lovely woman (whom I suspect was management) came to check on us. I didn't complain because honestly, what could she have done? The salad dressing tasted as though it had been left, unsealed, in the refrigerator. It tasted "old". I ordered my filet medium well, and it came to me cooked rare. Even the potato wedges... they were greasy and tasted as though they had been made from leftover baked potatoes which had been kept in the refrigerator for too long. Everything tasted that way... old and stale. Although the service was very good, the food was just too bad to ever return.
The bartender at the bar before entiring is a mixologist master. The beginning to a great meal! I had the pleasure of dinner with my 2 friends for my birthday. We started with the lamb pops which were great. One frined had the lobster mac and said it was rich and creamy and full of lobster meat. We split the beet and goat cheese salad, which was realy yummy. It was dressed perfectly. For my main course I had the bone in ribeye, medium rare - My stak was cooked perfectly, charred beautifuly and so scrumptious! I cannot wait to go back. I recall once friend had the salmon which looked so good and she said was delicious. Amanda, our waitress brought a large fully decorated square plate with the most decadently moist chocolate layer cake I have ever had. It was my b-day treat. All in all a great birthday. The meal and the spectacular drinks have me checking my calendar to see when I can return!
The only reason I would not recommend and/or gave a low rating on the value as the quality of the extras has all but disappeared. The food was excellent but it is important to remember that if you order a filet that is all you get and it is an expensive restaurant. The sides are for one person where you would expect that for paying extra for sides you would have a portion sized for the number of people at the table or at least serving sizes for 2 to 3 people. I guess if your using comps none of this matters if the food is good. They used to serve and excellent bread basket and a sorbet between courses those have changed to a standard crusty bread and no sorbet option. You come to expect a little extra in a higher end restaurant with an all a la carte menu. Without comps not a good choice for a special occasion unless you don't mind spending a lot for a little. Also at 4:15 on a Sunday not good when the servers first comment is there are menu items not available. Poor management and inventory control (no lobster or pork chops) they had a busy Saturday? Disappointing, but we chose this restaurant based on previous dining and were disappointed from the time we sat down. Used to be a great place for a higher end meal or special occasion but I just can't say it is anymore and that is disappointing. On a positive the carrot cake was to die for, great table option for 6 at the birthday we were celebrating.
Very satisfied with our dinner, there were 4 in our party and nobody had a complaint. Our server Jessica was wonderful, one of the best servers I have ever had. My only complaint are the prices, I do think as their prices keep rising it will be hard to frequent very often.
8pm reservations and 4 items on the menu were not available. our servicer,
Stacy, saved the day by offering acceptable alternatives
Food was good. Noise level in the restaurant was high.
The buy two Glasses get the whole bottle was a great promotion.
If you are in the area, it is nice. However, I would not make any effort to go there, as there are a num
Got the King prime rib, was good, however the raw oysters were dry and creamed spinach was not very good. Nice atmosphere and our waitress was awesome, wish the food was a bit better.
Well to start our birthday and anniversary dining experience our server asked to take our drink order. After promoting their wine list special, buy 2 glasses get the rest of the bottle free, we opted to do that only to find out our first 2 choices we not in stock. We finally settled on the 3rd choice that was available. Our waitress did apologize. We then ordered appetizers and our waitress explained the specials of the night. We were out for a special occasion so high priced dishes weren’t out of the question. I looked to order the tomahawk steak @ market price, $120 but low and behold they were out; settled for a bone in ribeye. My wife inquired about a particular duck dish, were out; Settled for a salad and our good friends ordered the Alaskan king crab legs, low and behold were out. NONE of our first choices were available. The server was nice however didn’t offer to compensate a appetizer or glass of wine for all the inconveniences. We were told that they haven’t had a manager for awhile. Management for the casino then needs to step in and get more involved with the restaurant to ensure these experiences don’t continue to happen. This was our first visit to the restaurant and due to this experience we don’t intend on returning. Be cautious when looking to book the venue for a special occasion.
Great food. Great service. I love the ribeye and the shrimp Dijon. Pretty room.
The Reserve Steakhouse is always excellent. The food is some of the best that I have had, and always cooked to perfection.
Always a great place, food is consistently excellent. Service was off on this visit.
The food was excellent. Service was top notch. Just the right amount of attention- glad to have some time to talk with the people with us and not have to worry about answering questions all the time
Excellent food and service. We ordered the filets. Mine was perfect, the other was not (poor cut with gristle, probably an end cut of the tenderloin.) When this was mentioned, a replacement was brought within minutes, and was a perfect filet, cooked exactly as ordered. Everything is a-la-carte, but the portions of the sides are large enough to be shared. The Lobster bisque is one of the two best I've ever eaten. Service and timing were exceptional, exactly what the perfect restaurant should practice. A bit pricey, but highly recommended.
Great place for a special dinner. Ours was a Birthday celebration. We had appitizers, salads, steaks and vegetables. Oh we'll be back for sure.
Our server Joseph was wonderful. This is the second time that we have sat at one of his tables and the experience was wonderful.
Delicious food and amazing service. Definitely will be back
This was our third time there
First experience was great
Second experience was terrible, so we thought we’d give it another try.
This experience was just as bad if not worse
Service was slow even though they were not that busy
Steaks were not good
Fries smelt fishy
Wonderful as always!!! Love chef Tony and our waitress Joann
Stellar server, food was good, no issues, paced well.
The wait time for the waitress to take our drink order was 15 to 20 minutes.
Wonderful service and the meals were fabulous!! Wine selection is limited but there are good choices.
The bone in rib eye was exceptional. Service was quick and friendly even though it was a busy Friday. I highly recommend dining here
Our evening was perfect, the service was excellent, the food was amazing, and we were given one of the 2 booths that we had requested. I was sad that the oscar stuffed filet was no longer on the menu, but the special that day worked just as well.
Over priced. Food was good. Service great. . I just feel over priced.
Our waitress Laurie is the best! We’ve had her three out of the last four times we’ve been there. Very personable and remembers us every time!
This was my 2nd visit
The 1st time is no comparison to the 2nd this time everything was outstanding would definitely recommend and visit again
The halibut and the pork chop was delicious
The food was amazing! Get the tomahawk steak
Delicious filet and wedge salad. Very nice atmosphere and great service.
Great! Restaurant week deals👍
Hostess checking us in was very rude, had 5:30 reservation but didn’t get seated until 6:20. She argued with me that she called my name at the bar, which she didn’t do or she was not loud enough. Once she was not in the picture we had an enjoyable time.
We love the Reserve. The steaks are the best. We have never had a bad meal there. Go and enjoy
Made a 4:45 reservation and at check in was told it would be a few minutes.
After a few minutes, I was told it would be 10-15 minutes more unless I wanted a counter seat. Reason being because they took some walk ins.
First, I made a reservation and I don’t frankly care about walk ins. Second, I’m not sitting at a counter and paying $150.00 for a meal. Third, when we were finally seated there were 4 tables for 2 available.
Went there for Valentine’s Day and our server was great. Food was excellent and we got right in with a reservation. Used points to buy the food was a little disappointed I could not use the points for alcohol like you can in Vegas but overall would recommend.
Porterhouse steak was not as good as it has been in the past. Steak arrived luke warm, not hot like I used to get it.
This review is for the Valentines Day prix fixe dinner. We have eaten here several times and had excellent meals, but , this time we tried their special Valentines dinner. I ordered a salad in addition to the dinner and asked for it to be served first, they brought the appetizer at the same as the salad. The appearance of the appetizer was OK but it was lukewarm, especially the asparagus. The mains were fine , MBH had lobster Oscar and I had the filet. The filet was odd in that it was served on a whipped potato base and topped off with potato sticks . Yes, the ones that come in the can. Dessert was Cream Brûlée with a caramel sauce. Neither were warm. All in all , not a good meal. We will eat here again, but never off a “special” menu
Food awesome as usual. Never disappointed there. Can’t wait to go back!!
