Yet another fabulous afternoon tea experience. The scones came out HOT from the oven and were to die for. Everything is presented beautifully, the tea is wonderful and served expertly, with a timer and a strainer to remove the leaves at the proper time. The Wedgwood china and pale pink roses on the table were lovely. My friend was celebrating her 30th birthday, and the pianist broke into "Happy Birthday" as the waiter brought us a bonus plate of treats, complete with birthday candle. It was truly special.

I was extremely disappointed with the afternoon tea - tea went cold immediately, sandwiches were dry and sub par , and desserts were low quality. The price of $50 per person was not justified.

My daughter, daughter in law and I decided to treat ourselves with the afternoon tea. When we arrived, there was a piano player and the music seemed quite appropriate for the setting. The food was wonderful and the service was very good. At some point during our meal, a wedding party came in and stood all around the area where we were sitting. The noise and chatter completely destroyed the ambience. I'm sure they were only there for the bar. I would think there is another area with a bar where parties like that could wait, without disturbing other guests. Overall we greatly enjoyed our afternoon and I would recommend it for anyone looking for that place with a difference.

Great ambiance. Came in for a bridal tea. The bride enjoyed it, and we had a great time. Can have slower service when busy, but tea isn't supposed to be rushed anyway!

Great vegetarian options, but they must be requested in advance. I called the day before to tell them the number of vegetarians in our group.

The last time we went for Tea it was much better. The tea was excellent but the bread was stale and the deserts were O.K, scones were great. We had two servers the man was excellent but the women was grumpy. I will give it one more try in the future.

Enjoyed the varied tastes and textures of the tea food selection were very good. The tea itself was very good, it was fun reading all descriptions of the various teas. We just wished that it was held in an actual restaurant, the tea ( and lunch) are served in what is basically part of the lobby that is differentiated by a few plants and a carpeted floor. Everyone checking in and coming through the front doors are all right there. This kind of butters the illusion a bit. But I would go back. I think I would ask for a table near the wall.

This place rates with the best Afternoon Tea venues of anywhere I've tried in Boston. The tea was fabulous and came with a timer so you knew when to remove the leaves-- a sure sign that they take their brew seriously. The food was delicious-- the strawberry tart crusts were nicely crisp; the trifle had a biscuit layer that was also impressively crisp and not soggy at all. The lobster salad had large chunks of lobster. Beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. Tea was served on Wedgwood china. The only complaint is that my companion's take-away box of lovely little fancy cakes was placed in the bag sideways, so they ended up a jumbled mess. What a shame for such lovely little cakes! But the take-away bag itself is a beautiful keepsake-- pale pink with gold trim. Overall I loved it and will definitely come back.

We came for lunch; it would be a lovely setting for tea, but for the food service at lunch they depend on the kitchen upstairs at Cafe Fleuri, with the result that it took a long, long, LONG time to be served. Our 12:00 o'clock lunch didn't end up ending until 2:00 p.m.

I would not return for Afternoon Tea. I've been to several Afternoon Teas in Boston and many other cities and this was by far my worst experience. Tea is served in the hotel lobby (which is done elsewhere but normally sectioned off somewhat - not here) with a view of guests checking in and walking in and out. Good for people watching, not the atmosphere you expect for tea. It was ear-piercingly loud. Between the chaos of the lobby, the far too close and loud piano player (nice touch but not for such a small space that echos), the clanking of china, and horrible acoustics of a lobby, I could barely hear my guests, felt like I was shouting to talk and left with a headache. While staff were all kind, service was incredibly slow. We sat for nearly 30 minutes before someone came to our teasy order. Then waited another 30 minutes AFTER getting our tea to get the first sandwich course. Tea was cold and nearly gone by then. All in all it took nearly 3 hours, far too long between courses, no offer to refill tea pots or water. We had a different person each time to deliver tea, each course, and the bill. No idea who our "server" was. The food was fine but not exceptional. I have had much better experiences at the Taj and Harbor Hotel at Rowes Whatf. I will not return for tea at The Langham. Very disappointed.

We had afternoon tea on Mother's Day at The Langham Boston. Although the food was fairly good, the ambiance nice, and the service acceptable, I feel it was greatly overpriced. Our party of 4 was $300 before gratuity. When I compare this afternoon meal to the lobster & steak dinner we had at a local restaurant, it seems way out of line knowing our bill for the later dinner was much less than afternoon tea...and we had steak, oysters, lobster, champagne. Also, the piano music was much too loud and made it hard to carry on a conversation even though we were a good distance away. Not a big fan of $300+ afternoon tea!!!

Early Mother's Day get together. Service was slow to seat and take drink orders. There is one tea option ($50) with an add on. If you want the chocolate dipped strawberries, guess what? You have to also get the shrimp dish add on. So odd. Food was fresher than Taj and scones were amazing. There is no champagne menu, we ordered a glass and got a mediocre Blush. No idea what the name of it is. Staff were very generous and kind. I think the hotel understaffs and doesn't offer enough options.

I would not recommend tea at The Langham. Teapots were not clean, food was mediocre, tea selection was ok, servers were cold and unfriendly. Definitely not worth the $50.00 price plus more for parking. We were not given the option to validate our parking even though we were guests at the hotel.

Not quite the same as tea in the Palm Court at the London Langham, but it was enjoyable. The tea was excellent and the food was delicious. The lobby location was lacking, however.

The Server seemed very stand-off ish and not very inviting. My friends and I decided to enjoy some tea and scones, however the server pushed us in a rather pushy way to order shrimp, sandwiches, strawberries dipped in chocolate. However, we were only interested in tea and scones. From then on he was very unattentive and almost condescending. We try and meet up for this little treat 2-3 times a year and this was the first time we've experienced such service before. I hope to return and have a more relaxing and enjoyable visit.

Attended afternoon tea for mothers 60th birthday and had a wonderful time. 4 of us in total; left very full! Delicious tea selection, followed with tea sandwiches prepared in a much more creative way (ex: beautiful sunflower shaped egg sandwich, open face), scones with condiments, and many sweets as a third round. We each had our own tea, so the food was plentiful! We had someone with an allergy to one of the ingredients, and the kitchen wonderfully accommodated. Service was incredible; very friendly, knowledgeable, available, and attentive. Venue was lovely, perfect for afternoon tea.

Had a fun time celebrating my birthday with my sister. The food got a little sweet for us but very filling. Wished they had more savory options to balance. The tea selection is excellent. I even got a nice additional treat with a candle. The plate had "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate, a nice touch! Afternoon tea brings a mixed crowd of folks which makes for a fun ambiance. The staff pretty much leave you alone but are very helpful and attentive if you need anything. There was someone playing the piano which just added to the fun environment. He was also friendly when I thanked him for performing.

Tea was fantastic, and tons of options to choose from. Setting is different than expected as it is really just a cafe to the side of the hotel lobby. Food was decent, but not worth going back for. China used for tea was beautiful, and the service could not have been better!
