View Private Dining DetailsArrived at the appointed time for dinner at the Remington Restaurant as specifically requested and was met by a sign informing us was closed that Friday and directing us to the Remington Grill instead. We have eaten at the Grill previously and have found it too noisy. We therefor left and went elsewhere to eat.
Very nice. Great service. Food excellent.
We had a drink at the bar first. The bartender was super friendly and chatty and went and told the restaurant for us that we arrived and would be getting to our table later than the reservation (they weren't busy). After moving to the restaurant, the service was super attentive as there was only one other couple there (a Wed night). Food was divine, everything. If you want a quiet gorgeous place when spending that kind of money, you cannot go wrong here.
great for business lunch. not too loud. service great.
This was Me and my Fiancee's second visit. The first time was an wedding engagement celebration with our friends at the Remington Bar and on 3/30/17 we celebrated with our Wedding Party at the St. Regis Restaurant. Even though there was a mix-up on where we had made the reservations our waiter was very attentive and went above and beyond to make our night pleasant. The food was prepared to our satisfaction. We would definitely revisit again.
The food and service was great. Quite and easy to talk.
The only downside was it wasn't very romantic and the occasion was Valentine's Day
Valentine night and was disappointed to find when we got there it was a prix fix menu. This was not mentioned o OpenTable when I made reservations. Disappointed
I am a recurring guest of The Remington and I am always pleasantly surprised to see that I receive outstanding service every time I am there. It definitely meets the St. Regis classic standards.
How absolutely fabulous to find a restaurant in which you can have a conversation without shouting! There was no background music at all and it wasn't missed. The lively conversation and laughter around us was more than enough to give an air of conviviality. Food and service were just great. We had Christmas dinner and enjoyed the special menu.
Very disappointing Christmas evening dinner. Started off well but as dining room filled up, the service was quite bad. Food was left on table for 15 minutes before courses and waitstaff was overwhelmed. Food was mediocre and very overpriced for quality of meal. I have dined before at this restaurant but will not return again.
Had a business breakfast, nothing spectacular, service and food as expected a bit on a pricier side.
It's a great place for serious conversation. Very nice !!
The Remington never disappoints! We've gone there many times for a late breakfast over the years and its elegant ambiance and wonderful cuisine is matched by the caring and attentiveness of the wait staff. Particular kudos to Ron W, our server, who made our recent breakfast experience at The Remington worthy of more than five stars!
We have been to The Remington several times in the past . It was called The Remington Grill at some point . I was disappointed with my fish , I would give it a 6 out of 10 . My wife's entree was also not up to par . She ordered the Cornish hen . Not very tasty at all . Service was excellent though .
The Remington has an excellent breakfast. It is open early, the service is first rate and the food is delicious. This value is reflected in the cost, such that I would only go there for business or special occasions.
I took my daughter for a Father's Day brunch at the Remington and it was delightful. The food was exceptional (Croque Madame for me) and the service was superb. We ate quite well, including dessert but no wine, and the check was around $75; very reasonable I thought.
Great over all !
The Remington at the St. Regis is an elegant oasis! Perfect for personal or business dining. The food is excellent, the decor elegant, and the service both friendly and caring. We went recently for breakfast and the Brioche French Toast and Smoked Salmon platters were both top notch.
Best Bar in Town. Period
In the St Regis Hotel with great service and installations.
I visit Bars in all my trips and this is one of my favorites.
Wonderful brunch with wonderful service! We will definitely return
Really enjoyed our dining experience at the Remington.
Our waiter, Moses, was especially positive.
Food was excellent as usual, we come for some special occasions but this time service was not up to Remington standards. Seem to have very few waitresses for the amount of patrons, the ones available offered the quality of service we are used at Remington but this time it took much longer than usual to take our order, refresh coffee, etc... Will be back, hope the keep staff according to amount of patrons.
We went for brunch last weekend - it's pricey, so it's definitely a special occasion spot. The food was good, but the service was VERY slow for the number of people in the restaurant. I was surprised by how long it took the food to come out.
My family and I ate here daily while staying at the St Regis. The food and service were spectacular. I would recommend to eat here if you are staying at the hotel.
So very disappointed with everything....I felt like i was eating in a conference room. The fish was overdone, and the creme brulee was sooooo running I didn't eat it in fear the eggs weren't cooked
Still can't believe this is listed as 4 stars
My husband and I usually dine at The Houstonian for Christmas and Easter. We wanted to try something different this year. What a huge treat The Remington is! Everything was perfection! We will be returning to The Remington for Easter! It's truly fabulous!
Visited the Remington for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The set lunch is really good value the ravioli was paper thin and delicious and creme brulee tasty too. Our waiter was helpful and friendly and organised a special cake plate for the birthday we were celebrating which was kind and thoughtful. We enjoyed our lunch here and will definitely be back to try the afternoon tea at the St Regis.
I'm very much a foodie having been in the restaurant biz for over 15 years but this dinner was disappointing. I paid $237 for a very average meal
The entire staff went out of their way to ensure our 1 year old son was entertained! Very nice - great food and service - be ready to foot a large bill though. Bartender checked up frequently and provided great recommendations!
The food here was delicious! It was a very diverse menu with interesting flavors to entice your palate. The service was nice, but very slow.
There is a garden room at the back of the Remington and I recommend sitting in there.
We had brunch there last Sunday and it was perfect ion every way.
The atmosphere is beautiful and refined and the food and service unbeatable.
A wonderful find in the St Regis Houston.
Showed up for a 9:00 dinner reservation. no one there to greet us , no one seemed to be working, restaurant did not even seem open. We looked around for someone and waited 10 minutes but no one showed up. Had dinner elsewhere. Did have breakfast there the next morning and the service was better and the food was good.
Not up to snuff for a St Regis, typical hotel food at nasty (high) prices. Average at best, did not have the wine selection we ordered. Combined with a mediocre hotel - not a great experience.
A top spot for that special occasion. Perfect!
The food and service was superb. The dessert was beautifully presented and more than pleasing to the taste. I was very satisfied that the Remington was chosen.
I had reserved a table for my wife and I for Valentines night. The place was romantic, the staff was great and the dinner was set for a very nice 5 coarse meal. My wife was very impressed and overall we enjoyed our experience.
We went early on Christmas Eve in order to make an 8:00 church service. Everything was beautifully prepared and the service was excellent. The meal was great!
I made a reservation for my friend's birthday on Monday for dinner on Friday, the 21st. On friday, at 5:20 I received a call regarding my 7:00 dinner reservation. Steven called to let me know that the restaurant was booked for a private party that evening and we would be eating in the bar. When I asked the manager why they took my reservation rather than let me know it was not available he said there was a private party and we could eat in the bar! There was no apology, if fact they were clueless as to why we were upset. We did NOT dine at the Remington and went to Cavour at Hotel Granduca instead. It was a beautiful restaurant with wonderful staff. We had a lovely evening!
My only complaint isthat the table next to us was rowdy and loud, which was not fitting for this restaurant.
Great spot for a romantic dinner, quiet enough for intimate conversation. A very relaxed environment with elegant ambiance.
