The Reluctant Panther Restaurant
Great service, cocktails, and desert. Waiter opened a special wine bottle that was lovely after we balked an the first. Thank you very much. I wish I could laud the main entrees which were fair.
dinning at this establishment was a real treat and a total joy..the food was as advertised the service was above and beyond every single person in the wait staff serviced us...did not have to wait for our server that took our order everyone that passed by did a fantastic job...i would total recommend this restaurant to and inn to every one that would listen outstanding ...
Perfect combination of superb food and service with a friendly and unhurried atmosphere. Will be back again.
We had an incredible meal. Wonderful food (best risotto either of us had ever tasted) and great atmosphere. We started with the local cheese board, which had creative and intentional pairings, and then the risotto and ribs, both were excellent.
Fabulous. The chef was amazing and accommodated my Gluten Free issues perfectly!!!
Gluten Free options!!!
Great food and service...certainly worth return visits which is our intention
Nice ambiance and food. A bit pricey. Very good service
Room is lovely. Food is excellent. Service is attentive yet occasionally forgetful. Lovely wine list. One issue. On a $200 bill for 2 people getting charged an extra $2 for bread for the fondue was insulting.
Superb ambience and service. Main courses lacked flavor. Desserts were outstanding
As visitors from New York, for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration my family, wife & I chose this restaurant as we heard it "was one of the best in the Manchester area"! SPOT ON!! Their service (from a unique lobster cream appetizer to an incredible chocolate mousse tart dessert) was "always the customer FIRST"! The food was delicious; one of the best filet mignon I have ever enjoyed in ANY restaurant! Their wine list (although somewhat pricy) was both extensive & very complete. We never felt "rushed" between courses as the timing from the kitchen to the table was right on cue! This restaurant was a perfect destination for any special occasion as we delightfully discovered! The Panther is not just any upscale restaurant; it is rather an A+ gastronomic eating experience not to be forgotten! Whenever you're in the Manchester VT region, be sure to reserve a table at the Reluctant Panther! Trust us, you WILL NOT be disappointed!! We will next time we're back in that area!
We went for my husbands birthday. I was the most amazing restaurant, service & food were phenomenal.
Wish we lived closer, we would be there weekly. Unfortunately we live in Florida.
Next summer, again.
Spectacular meal. We enjoyed every morsel.
This was one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Everything about the evening was perfect. The choices of food were interesting, with unusual but delicious combinations of flavors. Our waiter was attentive but not hovering.
I would give this meal a 10+ and wish we had gone back again for another meal.
Food was prepared perfectly and presented beautifully.
The chef strives to emphasize local and seasonal ingredients, sometimes gilding the lily. The lavender pavlova was phenomenal. The staff was super attentive and informed. The dining room is lovely.
Wonderful dinner - everything was simply amazing - hope to be back
Ate here with my Mum and a wonderful experience. The service was EXEMPLARY and the food, yummy. We highly recommend the chicken & chicken sausage dish.
This restaurant is located within an attractive, upscale Inn. It is a quiet, relatively small dining room...nicely appointed, leaning toward the formal (although people were dressed from fairly casual to nicely dressed). The service was very good but the food was disappointing. For the prices, it was average tasting. The soup of the day we had, mushroom and ramps with creme fraiche was rather sour and needed seasoning. The entree portions were small...I had the poached lobster. The lobster itself tasted good...but there wasn’t much to it. It came with tasteless black rice. My husband had swordfish...one OK sized filet which he said was good, not great, and came with tasteless polenta. We chose not to have desert. We saw other patrons’ deserts and they were tiny and costly. We did have coffee....served out of a French press. It tasted rich, but was just warm, not nice and hot. We had heard about this restaurant and expected more!
My husband and I are expecting our second child in a couple of weeks so we wanted to go out for one last date night just the two of us before the madness starts again. The Reluctant Panther was the perfect spot for this special night. Almost impossible to choose from their incredible menu, everything from start to finish was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was perfect, prompt but not rushed, familiar while still giving us our space to feel like it was just the two of us. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion and for anyone looking for an outstanding meal. Thank you for giving us such a memorable night.
Service was outstanding as was the meal and wine. I wish I had gotten the names of the staff working the night we were there- May 22, 2018, 6:30 reservation. I would call them each out for their outstanding service. We go to many fine dining restaurants up and down the east coast and the folks at Reluctant Panther were some of the very best! They were amazingly attentive, and friendly, helpful, overall wonderful! We will definitely go back when we are in the area. Great service and great food- don’t miss this place!
Very quiet, intimate dining experience. Great service and food
absolutely love this place. keep coming back over and over again. lobster and brie fondue is to die for.
Hunter took care of our every request and was most pleasant throughout dinner! We enjoyed dinner so much that we canceled our Saturday night reservation at another restaurant to return to the Reluctant Panther! Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We really enjoyed the food and staff at this restaurant. After over 40 years of enjoying Manchester and the Mountains, this is the best meal we've experienced. Kudos to the chef!
Excellent service and food
Had never been to the Reluctant Panther before after recently moving back to the area. Decided to try it and were very pleased with the entire experience. Service was exceptional as was the food! Will definitely go back often.
the food was absolutely 5 stars the service and staff were very friendly and professional and the place was very charming. If we visit that area again me and the wife will dine there again. breakfast was also delicious at the inn and if you are in the area try them you wont be disappointed. all in all our stay at the inn was great easy 5 star.
The food was fantastic. The staff was friendly and attentive. Wonderful dining experience. We went the week before as well!
My friend who lives in manchester recommended this restaurant...one of her top 3. I can see why. The ambiance is very calming... two gas fireplaces bookend the dining room and you can just hear muted conversation and laughing from the lively group at the small bar.
I had their signature cocktail...named of course the reluctant panther. Vodka, chambord, lemon juice and champagne. My new favorite!
I had a green salad and the venison with a sauce named gastrique. Excellent! Service was awesome.
Would absolutely recommend.
Always a true delight!!! Food is outstanding, service is great. Truly a special dining experience every time we dine.
Absolutely wonderful all around. Tammy Rossi have our review on Trip Advisor. A truly wonderful stay.
The food is out of this world! The flavors and the presentation.....My husband had a very nice ribs and I had a light and very tastefull shrimp! We recommend the local cheese plate as well!
We totally recomend dining with them if you are staying or not on the hotel ( perfect hotel!).
The service is very good as well, out waitress was nice and provided a wonderfull service!
On vacation skiing in VT. Wonderful restaurant. Would reccommend.
birthday dinner,, very good, Food, Ex service will return
excellent food and service to match. highly recommend!
Every bite of everything we ate was perfect. We got the lobster and Brie fondue which had big chunks of lobster. The meal portions were perfect! We got the short ribs and steak. The short ribs were so tender no need for a knife! We also got the chocolate special for dessert and it came with sorbet... must try the sorbet! It was amazing, we are defiantly returning.
It had snowed about a foot during the day, and many establishments had sent staff home or closed completely. We walked to this restaurant from the Taconic on the recommendation of a chef friend. There was only one waiter and the chef in the kitchen, and the food was fantastic. Service was excellent as well. You would have thought they were fully staffed. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners and will return the next time we are in Manchester. Quiet, elegant atmosphere.
So, it was a quiet Monday night. There were only 3-4 other tables in use. However, the staff were friendly, fun and very attentive. The food was delicious, well prepared and innovative. I especially enjoyed the charcuterie appetizer that came with some very nice cheeses, meats and "duck prosciutto" which was to die for! In summary, we had a great meal , a great time and this will be on our "do-again" list.
The food and service were amazing. Presentation of each course was beautiful and creative
The Reluctant Panther was superb! The staff was attentive and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. Our table was set and waiting for us when we arrived. Our server, Leonard, was friendly, funny and the consummate professional. He deftly guided us through the menu and we all were delighted with our orders. Everything, from the bread to the dessert, was uniquely delicious. Our appetizers (duck), soup (sweet potato) and salads were amazing but then our dinners (signature short ribs and chicken breast with cassoulet) surpassed them. We concluded our evening with cranberry ice cream and cream puffs. Everything was perfect and everything (the service, the staff, the ambience, the food) contribute to one of the most perfect evenings ever. We highly recommend the Reluctant Panther and will certainly return.
