We had Easter Brunch here and it was amazing. Very relaxed and family friendly. I highly recommend for special occasions or Sunday brunch.
Great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch!!!
Very comfortable and quiet, you can have a conversation without raising your voice!!!! Food is also good!!!
Very Nice meal with great service. The menu was a bit limited, but both dishes we tried were very nice. An extensive wine list to suit every pallet and wallet too :)
You know you're in New York when you dine af this restaurant for all seasons, with a terrific ambience, superb cuisine and wines the Regency is fit for foodies or family celebrations. The live jazz on Friday evening make it a go-to favorite to start the weekend.
My daughter, her friend and I checked into the Loews hotel and decided to have a late lunch. Big mistake. The menu was for brunch (3:00 on a Saturday?) so it was somewhat limited although the menu descriptions looked appealing. My daughter ordered a hamburger and her friend an omelet. I tried the chicken with waffles. My daughter's burger was inedible. The omelet was acceptable but my dish was basically chicken fingers with waffles, very overdone, looked like a child's item. The service was pleasant although our waiter disappeared after he served us so getting water was a challenge. I was mainly disappointed with our overall experience. For $100 for a "quick" bite, my expectations were certainly higher.
Creative cuisine featuring crispiest calamari, terrific tuna tartare tacos, best bolongnese, and superb simple grilled menu. Sommelier sure knows his wines! Something for everyone in this festive find! Great for any celebration! Live jazz in Friday's made us feel as though we were in a Woody Allen movie!
We went to this place after we saw an article about it on a magazine. They took forever to greet us at the table and also to serve us. I actually had to ask if we had a waiter/waitress. I ordered the lobster roll which came cold and it wasn't that tasty at all. My friend had the eggs Benedict and also felt like it tasted plain. The fruit bowl and the yogurt was good and had a cute presentation. Lots of older people too, not that it matters to me but it might to some. I will not be coming back to this place only because there is nothing special about it.
The entrance of the hotel looks great but the reception doesn't look that happy to welcome guests for the restaurant, whereas the hostesses are great.! They are nice, smiling, willing to help. The table was nice and the food very appreciable. We had the healthy breakfast, and the plates were perfect. But the service was really behind. The restaurant was empty but full of staff doing nothing. No communication. We asked for some gluten free bread which got on the table 10 minutes before the plates. No follow up at the table. That's a pity because it could have been so much nicer... We had a great time together anyway, thanks to the hostesses and the kitchen.!
Menu was limited, but worked. We just wanted something because it was our arrival nite and hadn't eaten yet. Nice atmosphere. Decent bar. Good food.
I absolutely loved my dinner at the Regency! I bring friends and colleagues here all the time -- the service is also incredible. They all make me feel right at home. The scallops are to die for!!
We came for Christmas dinner - restaurant was freezing, asked to make it warmer 4 separate times and the air conditioning was never turned down. Also, almost an hour lapsed between appetizers and mains. Food and ambiance were good but honestly our party felt forgotten about and would never return.
Meeting a friend for lunch here, we had a completely inattentive and disinterested waiter. Classic case of shoddy treatment of women dining together -- which happens too often in places that are not savvy enough to realize we are the best tippers when the service is good. I ordered something well done that came out under cooked; part of her order never arrived even though we asked five different people to please check on it. A manager finally brought it at the end of the meal with the excuse that they were having some problems with the order system getting to the kitchen - How about walking back in and just getting it after the third time we asked? Our original waiter was never seen again. The manager who finally brought it took a small percentage off the bill......but we won't be back. The Regency may have snazzed up the place but the service is worse than when it used to be the tired old Power Breakfast spot.
Great for business dinner. Good foo, attentive, but not obtrusive service and quiet atmosphere conducive for real conversation.
The service was extremely slow. We ordered drinks when our entrees came out, and the drinks were brought to the table after we finished eating the main course. Also, it was a birthday, so the desert should have come with a candle, as asked. Instead the server said they were doing something special, which would be right out. Right out turned out to be 15 minutes later, when they brought over a peanut butter flavored desert. Problem was, the birthday girl cannot eat peanut butter. The server and manager were not apologetic at all.
Everyone loved their fish dishes, good bread, good wine
steamed string beans were perfect
there's a grilled plain menu so you can eat here a lot
just know its very expensive
Excellent service. Polished and clean. Filled with an UES business crowd on weekdays.
Always a favorite and will return!
The Regency is a favorite of mine for breakfast. It sets the tone for the day and couldn't be better. Fine and fast service, elegant, yet casual surroundings and delicious food.
Wow have enjoyed dining here twice and looking forward to the next time but it's not faint of pocket.
Probably good for breakfast. Lackluster food at exorbitant prices. Beautifully designed room.
We were disappointed at being overlooked and under attended to by staff who were very clearly focused on the business community popping in for breakfast. The menu was not fully explained, drink orders were not until we had been sitting looking around for almost 15 minutes. Food service was average and we felt we were taking the spot of some 'more important' guests. With empty cups sitting there for extended periods, not once were we offered more drinks or even asked if we would like to order anything more.
Good reception, typical hotel dining room. Good sounding menu, but the food didn't live up to the hype.
Many other better places to eat after all this is NYC.
A usually great place totally broke down due to systems issues
We waited for food for over 45 minutes and then it came out cold
The restaurant comped our meal but if they don't correct the problem they have a disaster on their hands
The recent face lift to The Regency doesn't hide the history of power meals that have taken place in its well run, perfectly menu-ed dining room. The new fixtures have made the room feel relevant, but the familiar faces on the staff and solidly prepared go-to food items maintain The Regency Bar and Grill as a must when on the Upper East Side.
Lovely ! We had a business lunch meeting. Highly recommended. Great menu, service , new and lots of fresh light which is awesome !
The restaurant is beautiful, and of course known to be a power breakfast scene, so I was so excited to love lunch, and it just missed. The service was really quite friendly, but I was a bit confused because we were approached by two main waiters. Also, I was wavering between two options and ended on the Caesar Salad with Shrimp based on the waiter's recommendation and it just wasn't good. Overdressed to the point of limp lettuce, shrimp was totally blah. My dining companion had the Nicoise Salad, which he really enjoyed, although they said the tuna would be raw (I think they meant rare) and it was cooked medium, but he still really enjoyed the salad. As a pointer - they don't bring bread unless you ask, but do ask! The crisp bread is good. In summary - at the lunch price point, I expected more, but it wasn't terrible, just order better than I did.
The food here was really good and fresh. Prices a little high but good value and the cappuccinos are delicious
We celebrated an anniversary here and could not have been happier with the food, ambience, and especially the service. Thierry Rety (service manager) and Syed, our server were both warm, welcoming and attentive, making our experience very special indeed. Looking forward to returning.
The ambience at The Regency is great and it is very quiet. I found the food to be lackluster
The Power Breakfast and Power Lunch at The Regency is part of the old legends of the Upper East Side and when the hotel was recently renovated and the restaurant closed for such a long time, one worried that this mystique would be lost -- but it has not. The staff is extremely charming and very attentive and the food is delicious. Welcome back to the UES Regency and wish you many, many years of continued success.
This was our first visit back since the hotel reopened post renovation. We've always been fans of the Regency but we were sorely disappointed. The service was dreadful. We were moved from one high traffic table to another with the wait staff racing past us. Our sommelier was curt and cranky, the wait staff was yelling to each other over our heads, and literally plunked our meals down in front of us, serving the wine, bread and salad all at once with zero finesse. Unless you're seared against the wall you're sure to get jostled. What a shame considering the Regency Bar and Grill was such a delight in the past. We won't be back.
We went there for Christmas lunch and we're hoping for a memorable time. Instead we got a food that was the same standard as an upmarket diner. Not worth the money.
This restaurant was brilliant! We booked after a review online suggested it for Christmas dinner. It did not disappoint. Christian and his staff are fantastic and could not have done anymore to make our visit more pleasurable! We will visit again next year 😄!
started with caesar salad delicious
you can share it
and had bronzino and string beans
mother is gluton free and they had special bread and a wonderful pasta for her
sorbets are delicous multi flavors in one
customer service exceeded our expectations
I really like the new Regency Bar & Grill. Tables are large, service is great and far apart so you can have a business meeting without being surrounded by other diners. Well managed, elegant decor and convenient location.
The Bar & Grill is newly renovated and lovely. Tables are spacious and far apart, the décor is modern and fresh. We all had the same thing - the Joan's salad - which was delicious. However, ask for it chopped! We learned. The way it is served is all "clumpy", meaning big chunks of sliced chicken breast, one whole avocado sliced, etc. However, it was very tasty. At $32, it's not inexpensive for a salad, but these are hotel prices, after all.
Not quite as good as before redo. Room has lost a bit of warmth (though very pretty).
Food also not quite as good as before....missing something though difficult to put
ones finger on it. Perhaps the word would be finesse.
Nonetheless, great location and serves a good purpose both for the guests and neighborhood.
Lunched there with a friend two days ago and the experience was marred by inattentive service. Drinks ordered had to requested three times. Water was not refilled. It took three trips to bring entrees and appropriate condiments. Then the waiter simply disappeared. After waiting 30 minutes for the check I finally flagged a hostess. Then it took another 25 minutes. Annoyingly the restaurant does not have designated rest rooms. You are compelled to go through the lobby and down a hall. Lunch came to over$100 for 2 soft drinks,2 coffees, a burger and salad with chicken. The food itself was nondescript. In Manhattan there are just so many better options.
although a hotel restaurant there is noting about it that feels transient. the food is fantastic and the wine list is great and reliable
the staff is warm and welcoming. they were so understanding of some dietary restrictions and were able to omit items from my dish
but still make it look as wonderful as it tasted. thank you
Service was difiicient in comparison to other visits in the past, the breakfast was served sloppily and cold!!
