Excellent food and great service. Would definitely go back
We have always enjoyed our dining experience at The Refectory. It is one of our favorite venues for all occasions. The food is wonderful and the service is second to none.
My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and had a great time and experience. The food was very good and the service was top notch. The attention to detail is second to none.
Excellent as usual!
We always admire the atmosphere and the background of a famous French church environment. Always a pleasure for a party from 15 up to a more than 100 guests. Pricing reasonable for the class of dining and occasion of upper class (4 to 5 star rated).
Also very convenient serving hours, very tasty foods usually prepared fresh, very flexible for carryout when too much for one serving per individual. Prefer to have too much than not enough for the price charged.
Staff very knowledgeable of the menu and always sees to it that the Chef prepares it well for its patrons desire which is well appreciated.
Happy holidays to you now that we are three weeks away from
Christmas Day at present. Area decorations along the Bethel and Henderson Road area very decorative. most exactly right for the use of electricity (approximately 80 percent of homes and business).
Outstanding as always. Will be going back soon I’m sure
Outside of the noise level being more than what we expected, our dinner was exceptional. The quail was the best I have ever experienced in both the United States and Europe. Our server was outstanding, all the staff were quite friendly and courteous. We will plan to dine at the Refectory more frequently!
from time placed order for soup, it was one hour wait!
Only concern is that the it took a long time for us to get our food.
Wine list is wonderful, food is very good, service is excellent.
I was up set that supposed upper crust people came in with Baggy shorts and shower sandals with socks. There was a table near us that had a few minor children. I always though this was to be an adult restaurant. And a dress up affair, not the local McDonalds or Roosters.
Excellent service! Food was delicious and interesting
Always an amazing experience.
Perfect place! Great food, kind staff!
Dominic was great very professional and knowledgeable of the menu items. We celebrated my mother's birthday here. Everyone enjoyed the food and it was a very nice ambiance for a fancy dinner to celebrate my mom. Some of our group are vegetarian and vegan, and while there were options for us, I'd never complain about having more :)
There is not a finer restaurant in Columbus Ohio! Drop the mike hands down the best!
Wonderful meal and service was exceptional. Celebrated my wife's birthday. Not our first visit to The Refectory.
Restaurant is over rated. Food was ok, the arugula salad was amazing!
My husband and I celebrated our engagement anniversary at the restaurant on Saturday. The food was wonderful, but we were dismayed that the waiter rushed us through dinner. Unfortunately, it diminished the dining experience a bit for us.
This restaurant has an unusual food menu, and good and flexible choices in wines. For example, wines can can be bought in 3 oz., 6 oz. , or bottle sizes. If your food taste is more conventional, this is not the restaurant for you. Meat choices, for example, feature antelope and partridge, which may have buckshot in it. Seating is very comfortable, which is important as on the night we went, it took almost 45 minutes to get the main course. As my husband joked, you enter the restaurant young and you come out old. For a restaurant of this caliber and price, a small amuse bouche or petit fours should be offered as par for the course, but expect only warm bread.
This is the best restaurant I've gone to in my young life. The duck was superb as was the bisque. I left a generous tip and even got dessert.
As we have come to expect, our experience at The Refectory was excellent all around. We took a few minutes to have a drink at the bar before heading to our table. The bartender was informative and pleasant, and the atmosphere restful. Justin and Jacob kept us well fed and we never lacked for drinks. I had a rich and delicious mussel soup recommended by our waiter, Justin, followed by a barramundi dish that was perfectly cooked. The meals of the others at the table were equally as good. We had a wonderful time, were able to speak among ourselves without raising our voices, and the birthday guests were recognized with little placards. We will definitely return.
We asked around and this was a favorite. It is in a former church built in the 1800s. Great service and food. I My daughter loved it for a fun dinner with mom for her 18th Birthday. We are not drinkers, but those who are like the extensive wine list.
Everything was very good. My wife is still speaking about the experience 3 days later. Food, Service and ambiance were outstanding... HIghly recommend...
Our welcome was very cordial and we were seated in a very private, quiet booth. Our server was very knowledgeable and professional. Food presentation was over-the-top lovely! My wife had salmon and I had barramundi meuniere (sp?). Everything was delicious. The only negative was that the barramundi was not very hot, temperature wise. All-in-all a very delightful setting and delicious meal although expensive.
We hadn't been here in probably a year, and once we got seated, we remembered why we think this is such a special place. The menu is unique, and they definitely have the way to order down to a science. They expect you to enjoy the ambience and not be in a hurry. Everything we had was top notch. The server was seasoned and guided us very well.
My husband and I love the Refrectory. The food is amazing, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is cozy. The chef is great with allergy adjustments. Every time we dine at the Refrectory we are always trying new dishes. This truely is a 5+ star experience!
Our favorite restaurant in Columbus. The food is always exceptional and creative. Presentation is excellent and you are never rushed. It is a true dining experience. We definitely will go back.
Excellent food, remarkable wine cellar. Servers are very knowledgeable about food and wine pairing. If you are there to celebrate a birthday, they keep track of it. They will remember and recognize the occasion in later years even if you don't let them know.
Beautiful table settings. I loved the lighting. I felt very welcoming when I walked through the hall way and got my table. Great services. Food was excellent. I would love to go back for special occasions.
It was as good as it gets from the minute we walked in until we left. The good food, the attentive wait staff, the wine and my husband’s scotch were all perfect. Even after a mistake with the bill, they sent me flowers and a gift card. And the mistake was no big deal. Could not have been a better 70th Birthday for my husband.
as always the whole evening was very enjoyable...from the ease of making a reservation to the friendliness of the staff, our waiter Justin, the wonderful menu, the complimentery salad, and of course the great food. we were with friends and were discussing our old age ailments...at no time were we rushed. looking forward to our next visit and will tell our friends again, how great things were at the Refectory...jack
Good service, accommodate allergy issues. Very friendly staff and owner is very genial. Wine selection is wonderful.
Another terrific visit to this great restaurant. The venison rack was perfectly cooked and presentation was impressive. The wine list is top notch and fairly priced. Joseph and Chris provided outstanding, knowledgeable service and advice.
Always an outstanding meal and experience at the Refectory. Such a unique menu (Ostrich and Wild Boar this time). We only go for special occasions as it has gotten very expensive for a full meal with appetizer, drinks and dessert, but for me, worth every penny. My only slightly disappointing part of the evening was dessert. I've always held the Creme Brulee at a high level, the best I ever have and no one can come close, but tonight's was sub par. Is it a new recipe, new dessert chef? It was very average, still good, but not above and beyond all others I have ever had as it has in the past. It has been a while since we have been in. Still, highly recommended, I love the Refectory.
Wine sommelier was very helpful and the list was great
This restaurant is simply wonderful, good food, great service, lovely ambiance
A gorgeous converted church is the perfect backdrop for a fine dining meal!
We went for our 8 year anniversary, everything was fantastic. We loved our waitress Michelle, very attentive to anything we needed, was not hesitent to explain anything on the menu to us, we would definitely ask for her again when we go. The food was cooked to perfection, we got the boar chops and the ostrich filet, both were fantastic! The only downside we had was the seating was a little snug, the bottom of the table touched the top of my legs. The live music was nice too even if we weren't seated to see it, listening volume was still at a nice level to where we didn't have to talk over it.
