Thank you for choosing The Refectory!
We did an early (5 PM) Valentine’s Day dinner. The only option was a 5 course meal with only 2 choices for each course. Two dinners + 1 glass of wine + tip cost around $300, but I was still hungry after eating the 5 small courses. Also, our entrees sat on a counter a long time before the server brought it. By then, the entrees were cold. Worse, I asked my filet to be cooked medium, but it came out almost raw. They did take it bakc and nuke it, but when it cam back, it didn't taste as good as a Longhorn Steak. Lastly, though I appreciate a leisurely dinner pace, 2 ½ hours is too leisurely.
New waiter for us. Excellent job. Moisi was her name. It’s the little touches that make this place special. Personalized card at table whisking is a Happy Anniversary with our names. Just a great restaurant.
We went for early Valentine dinner. My wifrle and I very satisfied with food and service
Food was off the charts good. Service was impeccable. Pace was perfect. Can't think of anything bad to say other than the weather, can't blame them for that!
always wonderful food and great atmosphere! love this place!
The kitchen must have been backed up because it took us quiet some time to get our food but it was delicious. The service was great and we had an exceptional time.
Another fantastic meal was enjoyed!!
Everything was so nice, except the service was extremely slow. We sat down at 6pm. We ordered our food around 6:30pm (which was our choice, but our food didn’t come out until 7:40pm. Even getting and paying the check took a long time. The servers were so kind and our waters were always full, but the food took way too long.
It was wonderful food & service. Lovely place! We went here early 5 pm good time not til busy nice bar area as well.
Service was a little slow but the owner was very gracious. Food was wonderful.
A lot going on at the same time but overall it was very nice visit. Looking forward to dining there again.
40 mins wait to get a table even though we had a reservation. So we had to rush our dinner.
Had to wait 15 minutes to get water after we got our table.
However, food was amazing, we got complementary desert and drinks for our wait.
Excellent food, not rushed, wonderful atmosphere in such a unique building. Service was attentive but not obtrusive.
Excellent service and delicious food!
Great atmosphere with a beautiful decor. The food was not what I expected, however the service and desert made up for the entree.
This time we went for the Bistro Menu. It is a real bargain for the quality of food and service. The Refectory has to be the number one restaurant in Columbus. It is unique for a restaurant like this to have such quality food over the years. The newer restaurants with "tasting menus" can learn much from the art of truly combining foods in modern and classical ways to create a gastronomical experience - especially without the hype of a server telling how great everything is. Bravo to The Refectory and your continued success.
Menu is a bit pricy, so we did appreciate the availability of the restaurant weekly specials. We both thoroughly enjoyed the Bison; it was cooked to perfection. The service was great. Once we got Clay and Misa to talking it made the meal more enjoyable as we could relax more.
Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! We ended up sitting at the bar (preference), and our bartender/server, James, was wonderful! The Refectory is definitely one of my favorite restaurants & I highly recommend!
The whole dining experience made for a wonderful evening!
We took our son and his girlfriend to celebrate their birthday and show them what a real fine dining experience was like. Service, food, ambiance were all superb.
Good atmosphere, great food and even better service. Always lives up to it's reputation. Never had a bad experience there.
Wonderful dinner took advantage of restaurant week menu!
The Refectory is my favorite restaurant in Columbus without a doubt. Their service is top notch and the food is amazing. The goat cheese as well as the seafood coulibiac are delicious appetizers. I have tried their short rib, their pork, the lamb, steak, and more. All have been wonderful. Their desserts are always a nice way to end the dinner. Maybe enjoy a dessert wine that pairs well with it, too! I recommend all three courses because you may as well make it an experience from start to finish. Their staff is extremely professional and knowledgeable. I always tip them very well as they deserve it given the service they provide. Thank you to everyone at The Refectory. Such a fantastic restaurant and experience.
We had such a great time. They gave us the table by the fire which was nice on a cold winter night. The wait staff was great and very kind. The food was excellent. Great wine. Good cocktails. We will be back.
Perfection !
We had spectacular time. Everything about the evening was perfect.
As always, a very enjoyable dinner! We chose from the restaurant week menu, so a wonderful offering of 3 courses for $40. Service was spot on, and since they knew we had Hamilton tickets at 8 pm, they ensured we got out on time to head downtown without being rushed thru dinner. The complimentary digestif was a wonderful ending to a fabulous dinner!
It was everything we could’ve hoped for! Thank you for making our wedding so special!!
We especially appreciated splitting one order of the Dover sole. It’s our favorite dish but neither my husband nor I was very hungry.
This is a beautiful restaurant in an old church and school house. The history and charm make it worth it just for being there. We went to hear a jazz band, which has a cover charge of $10.00, which was a bargain for the quality of the musicians. They played two sets while we ate; it wasn't too loud that you couldn't talk, however we didn't want to as they were that talented. The food was delicious; fresh and flavorful. The service was wonderful; our waiter was very friendly and took very good care of us. We came a little early for a drink at the bar and the bartenders were welcoming and took time to explain the hand crafted drinks. We can't wait to return. You must make reservations fairly far out from the day you want to go as it is a very popular destination. I heartily recommend it.
Another lovely, delicious dinner at The Refectory! Started with Cream of mushroom soup which was exceptional. Then Short Ribs which were so tender and tasty. I had the salted caramel cheesecake which has become my new favorite at The Refectory. All the staff were top notch and very attentive. It's what keeps us coming back for special occasions. Thank you.
Just a wonderful place to dine. The food preparation and presentation is creative and always exceptionally well done and delectable. The atmosphere is sublime. Our server Michelle always does a great job--attentive, really knowledgeable and personable. She makes the evening special. I cannot recommend The Refectory highly enough.
As usual, a unique experience in fine dining. The terrines are amazing and all courses are visual and culinary masterpieces.
Always a great place to celebrate birthdays!!!
It was my wife and my 13th anniversary. They had a place card at our table congratulating us and brought us a special chef prepared dessert. The food was fantastic and the service impeccable.
The food preparation and taste is the best in Columbus. I’ve only had the same in Paris...chef is outstanding.
Best Dover Sole we have ever eaten! Love this restaurant! Service is excellent!!
Generally, good service, but when our wine glasses needed refilling, I couldn’t get our waiter’s attention. He was behind the end of the bar eating. Otherwise, excellent.
Loved everything! The food and service were great! It’s a place I can’t afford but restaurant week made it possible to have a great treat and experience!!
Have lived in Columbus 25 years and have never got around to trying The Refectory! Have been missing out!!!! Our new favorite!! Just tried it during restaurant week and can’t wait to go back. Service and food were excellent. Rabbit stew and quail were amazing. Best creme brûlée we’ve ever had. Love that they have a coat room. Ambiance very relaxing and not stuffy- absolutely great experience!
One of the best restaurants in Columbus, and the restaurant week deal is always one of the best values for the price category.
