I needed a place to meet an old friend after many years-- that implied something good to drink, good food, and a reasonably quiet atmosphere. The Red Lion was perfect, because it was also an old friend -- I hadn't been there either for many years, and certainly not since the old version (with all its fabled ghosts) was torn down and replaced a few years ago. So I was a little stoked to see if it retained some the old charm that I fondly remembered from the 90s. It definitely did, but it also offered better food choices for the light meal we both wanted, and the same kind of pubby decor that I remembered. They had some good hard ciders choices to, which I always hope for these days. Finally, I very much appreciated that the Lion was very quiet and calm on the Monday night when we met. I imagine it gets much busier later in the week, but it was perfect for our purposes that night. As cliché as it sounds, I'll definitely be back.

We enjoyed a wonderful Saturday lunch with our adult son. The food was excellent--2 of us enjoyed the ruben sandwich--mine gluten free, served in lettuce leaves. The sauce was unlike anything I've ever had and was very tasty. My husband enjoyed a great pub burger. We all enjoyed sharing the brussel sprouts.

My daughter and I were going to a show at Lincoln Hall and wanted to go to a nearby restaurant. This certainly fit the bill as it's literally next store to Lincoln Hall. The ambience was awesome and my husband would have loved it. The waiter we had was great and the food was good. The price was definitely right. I would go back again and if the weather is nice and you can sit up in front it's like sitting outside as the windows are open.

Very cute inside, and decent pub food. We had the corned beef sandwich, shepherds pie, and a burger. Good selection of beers as well.

The Red Lion has the true look and feel of a pub in England. Very inviting and warm interior, fascinating memorabilia and artwork, and an excellent drink menu. The food was surprisingly interesting.. strongly recommended.

Loved it. Beautiful place, cozy library like. And the owner, Colin, was friendly and knowledgeable, interesting. Shared stories of the building, his family and long time ownership. Can't wait to return....

The old 'Lion was always one of my favorite places, even if it was a bit of a delightfully divey pub with great food back then. The new version is even better, immaculate but accessibly Bri'ish, with a fantastic classically English menu and a sterling selection of beer and spirits.
