Everything about it was great. Enjoyed a drink in the small bar upstairs before dinner. The food was excellent and large portions.

A good destination for an hour outside of DC Metro area which gives you the Middleburg feel. Nice menu, nice service and a comfortable spot to have lunch/brunch on a Sunday.

Fried chicken was good. Chicken in cordon blue was dry. Scallops were good but rice and greens greasy.

The real jewel in the crown was the service. Friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make experience memorable. One recommendation for something different would be the bread basket... savory biscuits, corn muffins, etc. with sweet spreads would give the guest the option to control the sweet factor. This is especially helpful when choosing the entreé with dessert.

Have been there many times. Food & service continues to be outstanding.
Another advantage is its location in the town of Middleburg.
Highly recommend.

It was the first time for us visiting Middleburg and stayed at the Red Fox Inn and wanted to have dinner there as well. The atmosphere was great and loved the decor. Our server, Kyle, was very attentive and easy to deal with . The person who filled the water glasses was very good as our glasses were never empty and we never had to ask for refills. Food was delicious and good portion size which surprised us. We would definitely come back again.

Red Fox never disappoints. We are regulars, so we know the menu; but the seasonal specials are always a delight. This historic spot is a must if you are in the area.

The Red Fox Inn has been a favorite since 1977. It never fails to impress both the dining as well as the lodging. Very impressed with the complimentary a la carte breakfast for guests at the Inn. Don't change a thing ... except bring back lunch during the week.

The Red Fox Tavern is finally living up to its potential. The food was very good as was the service. We sat in a very nice outdoor patio for a fine brunch. The bacon cheeseburger was outstanding.

Tasty, traditional American menu. Standouts for me were the shrimp and grits appetizer (far tastier than expected) and a cup of Virginia peanut soup. Lamb chops were succulent, perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious. That said, the lamb's accouterments -- lumpy, too-dry mashed potatoes and under-seasoned kale/mushroom sautee -- left something to be desired on a $40+ entree.

Kyle was one of the best waitpersons we have experienced in our many years of dining out. The food was delicious and the wine recommendation was stellar: Cloudline Pinot Noir. The one minor issue was that there was sweeping up of the floor of our dining room when we were still eating. I mentioned it to the manager and she corrected immediately, as well as buying us dessert. Certainly, a way to have us recommend highly The Red Fox Inn and Tavern in the future.

Very nice colonial inn and tavern. The brunch menu had a nice range of breakfast and lunch choices, with a two or three course brunch option. Any two of appetizer, entrée and dessert or all three respectively, plus sides. Mixed drink menu, wine list and standard beverage service available.

Simply fantastic! Brittany the bartender and Jonathan the server took phenomenal care of my friends and me. Brittany even made a “custom” mojito just as I requested. I celebrated my 50th birthday at Salamander resort and had dinner at Red Fox. The crab cakes were good and the duck wings were SUPERB!!! We’ll definitely be back for another great dining experience.

My wife and I enjoyed an amazing dinner and dessert at one of our favorite restaurants, The Red Fox Tavern. Our appetizer - the twisted pretzel with dipping sauce - was great. She had the goat cheese salad with dates for dinner, and I the chicken avocado melt sandwich. Both were outstanding. For dessert, we split two choices: the carrot cake and the vanilla hazelnut crunch ice cream. They were delicious!
