My husband and I kicked off our Christmas vacation with dinner at the Red Fox Inn...it was wonderful, the ambiance was warm and cozy, dinner was wonderful and Bradley, our waiter, truly added to our experience. A wonderful way to spend an evening or a winter afternoon.
Outstanding food. Great choices on the menu. Excellent fried green tomatoes starter. We had the salmon, fried chicken, and pork chop for meals, and all three were wonderful.
Every year we come to the Red Fox Inn and Tavern for their Brunch and it's never a disappointment. The food, service and atmosphere is amazing. I would highly recommend it for any occasion.
THis was probably my 5th time and the food is consistently great. The service is stellar with well-informed wait staff. It's on the quiet side but not so much that your company cannot have a good laugh. I look forward to visiting again soon.
We go here for the fried chicken. It is some of the best we have ever had.
I have gone to the Red Fox Inn for many years. This time it really shined. The food and service was perfect.
Lovely historic Tavern with terrific creative American food.
The food was amazing. Great atmosphere. Very friendly service. Really enjoyed the dining experience.
Our sever Kristin was outstanding. Thank you to her and the staff for what may have appeared to have been an everyday dining experience to be a very special mother-daughter luncheon.
Great romantic evening! With phenomenal food!
Great dining experience. Food was delicious and service was wonderful.
We had a very nice time. Fireplace was going and we were seated right next to it at our request. Our server (young man attending college) did a great job and could not have been nicer.
Wonderful service. Great food.
The Red Fox Inn and Tavern is one of our favorite places to dine for special occasions. The food has always been good, but this time, it was exceptional. You know those places that have overly attentive waiters? This is not one of them--the service was excellent, but not bothersome.
My spouse and I enjoyed a Christmas brunch at the Red Fox Inn in Middleburg, VA. With the snow falling outside it was nice and cozy inside. Their apple turnovers as a starter were so good we almost stole more from the table next to us. I had a cup of hot cider (a bit on the high price at $8). We had our own shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. My husband had the fried green tomatoes eggs Benedict, the only downside was the English muffins were a tad too crispy. I had the fish and chips which was so large I brought half home. For dessert I had the chocolate torte covered with raspberry, rich but delicious. My spouse had a Bloody Mary to cap off his meal which had a shrimp, olive and peppercorn as garnish. We recommend this place for others.
Always a wonderful dining experience! Cozy atmosphere in back room
We really enjoy this restaurant. It is one of our all time favorites. It has a great menu, outstanding service, delicious food, and wonderful ambience. We come every time we’re in the area!
The Red Fox Inn has superb food and great ambiance!
This was our first time actually having dinner at The Red Fox, and we were blown away. I had requested a table near the fireplace DONE. I had the Rockfish dish and it was OMG. We are heading back for their Christmas Eve Dinner which sounds amazing, and we cannot wait!
Very busy on annual Xmas parade day, but worth the chaotic wait. Food is
dependably outstanding and service is attentive and friendly.
We stayed at Salamander Spa & Resort and went here for dinner on our first night. Service was impeccable and drinks were yummy. Menu was full of familiar comfort food but with just enough of a twist to be interesting. Food was very good but not mind blowing. I recommend the duck wontons.
As always, RFI came through once again with a wonderful evening. Food and ambiance was amazing for our anniversary. You don't want to miss this gem of a restaurant.
Had a great experience for our anniversary. The food was great, the servers attentive, and the atmosphere was very romantic. Would definitely visit again.
We ate: shrimp and grits, peanut soup, butternut squash soup, half duck, fried chicken, and the carrot cake. The only item that we weren't especially in love with was the carrot cake- seemed like it was a thawed/premade cake
We had a great meal.
Tasteful, well prepared and served on warm plates so temperature was good.
Our server, Kyle, was very professional and helpful. Portions were quite large --
I could have eaten 1/2 of what was served and been very full. Make sure your are hungry!
The room was fairly crowded with tables, but the layout was such that we didn't feel like we were sitting with another party. The room was a little too warm for us. A cool breeze would have felt good. (warm food, lots of people).
Highly recommend a visit.
Always good. Prix Fixe Brunch on a holiday weekend on this trip.
Food and service are always outstanding. One of my favorite places to dine.
We had great service, the ambience is worth the trip alone, and the food was terrific but overpriced. The menu is somewhat fixed and you are limited to your choices, which I'm not a big fan of. I would love to go back and would bring out of town guests because the atmosphere is terrific, but would probably look elsewhere because of the cost and the menu's limitations.
Red Fox Inn had terrific food and an excellent wine list. Instead of driving into D.C. and traffic, head out to Middleburg.
Made reservations through open table for Friday lunch. However nothing was written clearly that it was a prefixed brunch. I think $48 per head is steep. The choices were just ok. They made us put a credit card down since the reservation was for 8. However 40 minutes prior to the reservation they left me a voice mail that I needed to call back to confirm. I didnt get the message right away so it made me nervous that I was going to lose the reservation, but still have to pay. When I called back I asked them why they called to confirm the reservation when I was told a no show would charge my card for all 8 at $48. They said it was “ procedure”. From a customer point of view, it was completely unnecessary and confusing.
Pre Thanksgiving Day dinner. Outstanding food and wine. Pre fixe dinner with wine pairing. Lauren was an outstanding server! Highly recommend it! We will be back!!
Everything about it was great. Enjoyed a drink in the small bar upstairs before dinner. The food was excellent and large portions.
A good destination for an hour outside of DC Metro area which gives you the Middleburg feel. Nice menu, nice service and a comfortable spot to have lunch/brunch on a Sunday.
Fried chicken was good. Chicken in cordon blue was dry. Scallops were good but rice and greens greasy.
The real jewel in the crown was the service. Friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make experience memorable. One recommendation for something different would be the bread basket... savory biscuits, corn muffins, etc. with sweet spreads would give the guest the option to control the sweet factor. This is especially helpful when choosing the entreé with dessert.
Brunch date, server was attentive and pleasant. Would've liked a better seat in a less high traffic area.
Have been there many times. Food & service continues to be outstanding.
Another advantage is its location in the town of Middleburg.
We had the perfect table. Food and service were great!
Delicious brunch followed by desserts which were equally good. Excellent historic place to eat before enjoying more of historic Middleburg.
As always, The Red Fox Inn was a superb dining experience...
We love the Red Fox! The ambiance is perfect! Cozy and delicious! Can’t wait to return!!!
