Fondée en 1728, la taverne historique The Red Fox Inn & Tavern accueille les habitants et les voyageurs à Middleburg, aussi bien pour profiter de déjeuners copieux, que de dîners décontractés ou encore d'intimes soupers aux chandelles, dans la plus pure tradition de Virginie.     My wife and I brought our 7 year old in to give the 4 course a shot. We'd never been to the place. Very good service, knowledgeable and very friendly faces...just a great experience. The flavored butter reminded me of La Bibliotheque in Charlotte, NC [sadly closed] who served 4 types of flavored butter. The flavored butter here was excellent. Food was wonderful. We were both worried we were going to get so much food we'd feel cruddy leaving. I'm telling you, in my humble opinion, the portions were perfect. I had the scallops, and they were sauteed to perfection. It is pretty obvious that whoever prepped the scallops took thier time with them and dried and salted them perfectly before the sear. The salad was great, the dessert Peanut butter and chocolate, how can you go wrong? I am not a fan of risotto and I hate cauliflower. I ate all of the risotto and cauliflower. I think it was the best Cauliflower I've ever had in my life, and I'm old. They had a cherry drink, cannot remember the name, but I had two of them and would have had a whole quart if I could. Next time i go in, I'll be trying the lobster.

    I recommend the Red Fox Tavern to anyone who wants an old-fashioned, high-end dining experience. Food quality, presentation and service were all top-drawer. For a fixed-price menu, the variety of offerings for each course was excellent. (Speaking of Old-Fashioneds, theirs is one of the best.) I am a huge fan of English pubs, and the architecture and ambience of the Red Fox was very reminicent of some of my favorites in England.

    One of the most delicious meals we have ever experienced. Truly amazing food. Wish the chairs were more comfortable and the restaurant used tablecloths. I yhink the food would have presented better on something other than charcoal grey plates. The staff were wonderful.

    I recently dined at this restaurant and overall had a positive experience. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, and the service was attentive. While I enjoyed the meal, I did find the prices to be a bit on the higher side. I ordered the ribeye, which had a good flavor, but it was a bit too fatty for my taste. That said, the sides and overall presentation were excellent. Worth a visit if you’re looking for a quality meal and don’t mind spending a little extra.

    We had the two course meal and found it good but not great and for the price, it was disappointing. The Inn is lovely and historic and we enjoyed the atmosphere. It was also quiet enough for us to communicate easily with our friends.
