The Rattlesnake Club

The food was out of this world! All dishes exceeded expectations. Highly recommend the chocolate bread pudding.
LOVE the Rattlesnake Club. I am never disappointed with food quality, service or atmosphere. Always a 10. Noise level is low and you can hear your dinner partners. Can't wait to dine here again!!!
It's one of Jimmy Schmidt's restaurants, not many are still around. The Rattlesnake has never disappointed us. It's more expensive but it is worth it. Enjoy
Great food, menu, service and setting. Have been for both happy hour and the regular menu several times a year for the last 4 or 5 years. They survived the lean times and deserve to be back on top.
Saturday evening around 6pm and the restaurant was not busy. We valet parked and were seated right away. Friendly and efficient server made us feel welcome and brought drinks that looked and tasted wonderful. NY Strips were done perfectly as was my baked potato. The scallops were delicious but my wife only got three. That's ten dollars a scallop. Yikes. Everything else was a good value. They brought my wife a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert because it was her birthday. Very nice touch. The noise level was very low, which we like. This is a good alternative to the parking challenges downtown and you get the nice view of the river.
Outstanding service, food is great, drinks could used some work.
Everything with great but our server once we got our food he was nowhere to be found we have to keep looking and searching and getting up just for a bread basket, or it 20mins to find him to get our bill. Than the top he really did not deserve. Paying someone for something they did not deserve is something we felt like we were robbed. Get some better servers
We went the the Rattlesnake for restaurant week! Had an amazing experience!
Even though we arrived later than our scheduled reservation, (I did call to be sure we could still be served), our experience was awesome. We had the salad, calamari, salmon, steak, and cheesecake. I truly enjoyed the food and can't wait to go back in the summer to have an outdoor experience. Thank you, Alicia H.
My overall experience was underwhelming. The environment was too bright for my liking, our waitress kept forgetting things and even brought our bill to use before bringing out the desserts we ordered. Also the food was just okay. The duck was over cooked, the prime rib was way too fatty. The best thing about our experience were the appetizers and drinks.
Went during Detroit Restaurant Week. The atmosphere was amazing soon as you walk In the door. The chairs are uncomfortable and don’t see how people sit there for long periods of time as the waitress expressed to me. I had the duck with purée sweet potatoes. Over all the meal was just ok, the sauce on the duck was bland, the sweet potato had a little to much chipotle seasoning. The Brussels spouts were amazing and the cheesecake was good as well. I am willing to come back to see what their standard menu taste like when the turnaround rate isn’t so high like during DRW.
Great food and service! We were able to take advantage of restaurant week and enjoyed every minute. I will be returning 🤩
We had a wonderful time during Detroit Restaurant Week. The service was grand from the hostess to the table. The menu was great and we just had a great time. I can see why you remain in business.
Thanks for a good time.
Very good night dinner and service. Drinks were great . Apps were on time. Waitress was personable and friendly.
The experience was great, food delicious and choices during Detroit restaurant week were awesome. Plan to return and enjoy the dining opportunities.
Great experience. My second time there and I'll definitely be back!
The food was good, not great. Flavor was there but the prime rib was somewhat tough. Service was excellent, atmosphere was OK, not quite what I expected from a top notch restaurant. I thought it was over priced for what we got. Not a bad place, but not great either.
Went for Detroit Restaurant Week. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. We ate at the bar because the bartender (Brandon) was so engaging and the people sitting at the bar were so friendly. We ended up having all 3 starters from the fixed menu, prime rib and duck from the entree menu and both desserts. First time in recent menu we did not bring food home. 5/5 in all categories and as we travel to different restaurant destinations we will make sure and always return to “The Snake”. Wonderful experience, can’t state it enough.
Detroit restaurant week special menu overall the food was good waiter forgot my Au jus sauce for my prime rib and didn’t box up our desert.
Food was great, service was great! Unbeknown to me it was restaurant week with a limited menu and I feel the person that took my reservation should have told me this! I also think it is time for a restaurant decorating update! In my opinion, a new updated look would bring in more cliental! With the quality of food that is being put out you deserve to be really busy!
Celebrated my Wedding Anniversary here and all I can say is it was a memorable experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant and definitely will return
Excellent duck and sweet potato mash. Calamari was weird served in water glass - should have just put on the plate. Had to dump out. Tasted amazing with the alioli though. Fast attentive service. Would dine again.
Went for restaurant week.
I would expect smaller portions during a promotional event like that.
I thought everything should be top notch.
The food was not hot.
Seemed the server was busy topping off our neighbors glasses.
Wonder if that wasn't the reason my dinner was cold?
Left a tip and wrote off the restaurant.
Will not return.
Food was good but disappointing service. Once the waiter took our order, we never saw him again. The runners brought out the food. Wanted more drinks - never happened. We went on a Tuesday nighr so not like they were busy. Won't go back and will not recommend to any friends.
The service was excellent. We had explained we needed to attend an event, and they were very accommodating on time, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was excellent. Flavors were very well meshed together.
Went for restaurant week. Had the Brussels which the cheese sauce was amazing and the best part of the entire meal. I literally put it on everything. Bread was too heavy like a bagel...lots of room for improvement here. The prime rib was accompanied by a terrible celery root au gratin thing which biting into mushy celery tasting anything (even covered in bake cheese). They should remove this disgusting dish, immediately. The dark chocolate bread pudding was yummy. Cheesecake was good except for the crust, seemed to have coconut in it which was not detailed on the description.
Our waitress wasn't attentive and the food was bland.
Everything was fantastic, however service was a bit slow.
We went to the Rattlesnake Club for our anniversary during Detroit Restaurant Week. It was excellent. All of the food was amazing, as were the drinks. We look forward to a return visit when the weather is nice so that we can sit outside.
Server was the best part of the services, it made the wait and the delay in seating worth it.
In the past have given the RC 5 stars all the way, but not this time. Waited way too long for our table - and at the end had to wait for the check (and then waited more due to an error). The prime rib and Brussels spouts appetizer were great - the rest good, except for the calamari/shrimp appetizer which was disappointing. Everyone has an off night now and then; hope that's all this was.
The reason I gave 4 stars was because even though our reservation was for 7:30 pm, we were not seated until almost 8:15 pm and the group near us had a 7:00 pm reservation and they were seated the same time we were. It seems that the establishment should have been prepared for the number of diners, especially since reservations had to be made and this was the first day of Detroit's Restaurant Week.
The food - quantity and taste - was excellent.
We were seated 45 min after our reservation time. They were clearly understaffed and our waitress would appear about every 15 minutes. The food was just above room temperature. The calamari was plentiful but with an ammonia aftertaste that speaks of it going bad. The prime rib, although properly cooked to medium rare was too chewy for the price. Gave it a try during Restaurant Week - won't be back. Other restaurants showcased their best this week - why not you guys?
We very much enjoyed our dining experience. It was DRW so it was a limited menu, however, they served up some delicious and well crafted dishes. The Club is wonderfully decorated and was kept very clean. The appetizers of Rock Shrimp and Calamari and the Crispy Brussel sprouts were both excellent. The Parmesan cheese aioli was a nice touch for the sprouts, but they were so flavourful already that it wasn't even needed. I opted for the 16oz Prime rib and a side of the baked Mac and Cheese. They were both sumptuous. My GF had the Spaghetti squash and loved it as well. Dessert was amazing also. I am not a person who likes sweets at all, but the Chocolate Bread Pudding was superb! We will be back for sure.
The four of us enjoyed our dinner last Saturday night. We found the address without too much trouble. Our valet came right out. We found the pitch dark walkway/stairs a little frighting considering the ice we have had. My husband has Parkinson's and I was worried about himont the steps. We arrived, greeted and quickly seated. Our waitress seemed to be in a hurry that night. We whizzed through every step of the dinner. Our starters were good. I had the grilled shrimp. Others at the table had the brussel spouts and calamari. Th calamari came with a yellow saffron sauce. We didn't think it did much for that dish.
As I ate my last shrimp, someone whisked away my plate and another one appeared. It was my dinner! I felt like I better hurry this up! I had the perch which was very good. Came with a wine sauce which was different. We all felt the food was good but under seasoned.
Part of 4. 2 of 4 guest were served luke warm steaks. We informed the waiter. The food was taken and brought back to us even colder. The waiter was very nice but we could tell that the waiter was swamped. Unfortunately, it was terrible experience given the money we paid.
Anniversary. The waitress was nice, but didn’t seem very knowledgeable about the menu or ready to recommend anything in particular, in fact she just recommended everything, which was weird. Plus, she slow to get drinks. The bread and water waiter was on top of everything. The restaurant was only half full, but looked nice. The CAB filet was very good, but the the Ahi filet was tough and overly fishy. We may try going here again, as I think it’s unfair to write a place off on one visit. But it was a bit disappointing for Valentines weekend. Not what I had expected from all the good reviews from family and friends.
The food and service were excellent, so what's new?
I have been wanting to try TRC for a while...seeing i have been to all the new restaurants we decided to try this for our anniversary. I was expecting old school and I got it. While the food was great, we did ask for steak sauce after our server told us sauces were the chefs specialty, and she gave us a bowl of A1....not very special. The chairs were very uncomfortable and very worn out. I would imagine if they want to keep up with the huge food movement in Detroit, they should do a huge renovation.
