Food and service were great. However, they need to work on the ambiance. They say that they have a business casual dress code for dinner, but it isn't enforced. We had dinner there last week, and several patrons were in shorts and one was in scrubs. It made the whole experience a little less special.
The waitress was very pleasant however the service was slow.
Miranda was outstanding .... thank you
I’ll return every Year for my birthday
The food was good, but the dessert was better! There are so many options and we loved all of the desserts we had. The cinnamon butter is also a hit.
Food was good overall. Bar service at the table was awful. Once we sat down we ordered 2 drinks and it took about 15-20 min to come to the table. Ordered food and another drink each and the drinks came after we were just about done with dinner. May have been a good crowd out in front he bar area but they should also service the restaurant customers on a timely bases.
I was in Stillwater for OSU’s Homecoming and I had Berber been to the Ranchers Club. It was fantastic and Inwas able to impress my guest from Texas.
You would expect a little more quiet atmosphere considering the menu and cost of food and drink. To many college kids I guess. Ordered our food and it was close to an hour before we were served. Had an exceptional waitress and she tried to accomodate the long wait by getting us an appetizer plate (on the house) and also treated us to a dessert even though we wasn't going to get one. She really went out of her way to try and make up for what could have been a disastrous evening. When we got our food the mashed potatoes were extremely dry and the asparagus was tough and way undercooked. Would have expected the filet mignon to have been a little better quality for the money. House salad was good and the sweet potatoe side that I had was very good. Excellent bread and appetizer plate.
Food was great and server was gracious but it was a good thing we weren’t in a hurry since we waited for an hour for our food. In hindsight wish we had been told the reservations were full or to select different items to order. Never imagined two sandwiches would take long.
Our dining experience was exceptional, I greatly enjoyed it all. The service was absolutely incredible. Our waiter was attentive and honest. The food was delicious.
Usual excellent experience. Attentive staff, wonderful meal, quiet enough to conduct business.
The staff took such good care of our group. We placed the order early since we were in a time crunch and everything was ready when we arrived. This left time to enjoy the meal and order dessert and coffee to round out the meal!
We made the reservation for brunch, but when we arrived we were told they don't serve brunch on game days, only dinner. Who wants dinner at 11:00? Manager was unwilling to offer any brunch options but did give us a gift card.
Have been here a few times but last night was awful. Wine took forever to be served with our entrees. Had to ask multiple times for dinner napkins, sauce etc. The halibut was overcooked and filet was very undercooked. Way too expensive for subpar service and food.
I will not be going back!!
This was my first time at The Rancher's Club. My family was visiting for the weekend and I wanted to go somewhere special. I am extremely disappointed. I had the Prime Rib and it was so full of fat I could barely cut it. I've had much better Prime Rib at Texas Roadhouse. My daughter had Roasted Chicken that was dry and bland. The Chicken Fried Steak and the Salmon was good, but average. There was no WOW factor in any of the food items except for the bread. The bread was delicious. The service staff were very professional and friendly, but I give the food a thumbs-down. We will not be returning. It was very embarassing after I had told my family that we were going to this great restaurant.
The food was not hot at all
When we asked for Medium steak , they were more well done
Met for lunch there and thought it would be stuffy and overly expensive. Not at all! Beautiful restaurant but comfortable. Lunch menu pricing was very reasonable and everything was delicious!
Love the food & the service! The steak is always cooked perfectly and the wine list is impressive.
Food and service was amazing, it gave my date an a a great time to talk with the noise level very quiet and very tasty food that were a little high in price but worth every penny.
Outstanding and exceptionally presented welcoming bread, steak cooked to perfection with delicious and outstanding sides. Dessert was a Grand Finale with an entising presentation. Go for the specials!! No place in Oklahoma can match such bread. Excellent !
Not an impressive lunch yesterday...the Chef's special (pork chop) was so salty that you couldn't eat it. The queso appetizer was cold, but they did bring out a new bowl to remedy the problem. The Brussels sprouts were barely cooked. Overall it was not our best trip to the Rancher's Club. Dinner is a much better time to visit.
Great place to re-unite with family and friends! Great food!
The service was very poor. We sat for 25 minutes without being greeted. After waiting that long we flagged someone down who went and found our waitress, but the service did not get much better from there as we only saw her a couple of times.
I presume that we were thought to be two young college students using up our meal plan, making us not worth the bother of attention or good service. We were never approached by a manager (who was very attentive to older couple and families); and our waitress asked my husband and I very annoyed if were were paying together or separate. (I have no problem being asked this; I’m just using it as an example of being looked at as young, as no one would ask a 50 year old couple if they were paying together.)
The food was very lacking in presentation and in taste. The best part of the meal was the bread, which again we had to ask for. The food and our experience most definitely did not match up to the price.
My husband and I are both proud alumni, but we will not be dining back at the Ranchers Club.
Geat food in a hidden location on campus. Always nice to walk the campus afterwards.
Incredible birthday dinner. Perfectly cooked steaks, excellent drinks and quiet surroundings. Enjoyed it and will return.
Dads day great steak, service perfect meal!
We reserved for a dinner before a football game looking for a quiet place to enjoy a dinner with a short walk over to the stadium. It did not disappoint. The meal was delicious. Service was great. If this is all run by students, they sure did a great job.
Our youngest son just started his freshman year at OSU three weeks ago. Charlie called Thursday afternoon and suggested Rancher’s Club for dinner Friday evening to kick off Dad’s Day/Family weekend. We arrived Friday and met Charlie at the Rancher’s Club. The atmosphere is wonderful! We were greeted by three adorable hostesses and then seated and welcomed by a delightful waitress named Amy. She had a fantastic personality and was a great waitress. All her suggestions for appetizers, entrees etc. were perfect. Everything was cooked to perfection. It wasn’t too noisy . We could actually carry on a conversation! This dinner will always be a memorable one. It was the first time we had seen him since he left for college and Charlie shared how much he absolutely loves OSU and kniws he made the right decision about his college choice. Rancher’s House is fantastic and we will make it a regular tradition.
Steak was outstanding. Ceasar salad was good but I'm pretty sure it was brought to my table w/o any dressing so I had to ask for dressing. All the servers are students so not really professional but they were fine, very kind and friendly. Many times I'll take that over the table cloth scrapper. This is located in the OSU Student Center which I didn't know going in so it's a little odd but it's decorated beautifully. I'm supposing die hard OU fans won't like it but it was fine for a Texan like me. :)
This restaurant offers the perfect dining experience. Both relaxing and high class, you get an excellent taste of fine dining in an environment that simply feels inspired. Everything from the bread, if such a delicate and inspired creation can be truly classified as such, to the steak which was coated in a flavor so intense my mouth waters even now as I remember it. Truly, the Ranchers Club is a place to go if you want a dining experience that you will always remember.
Wonderful ambiance. Great service. Love the chicken fried steak (slightly overdone this visit but still good).
So nice to eat with tablecloth, heavy silverware, and real dishes. Beautifully decorated. Reasonably priced for breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch.
Wonderful evening and all five meals served were wonderful!
An elegant dining experience with a ranch theme. The smoked prime rib and duck carbonara were sensational! The staff was very friendly and professional, which made our quiet, little anniversary dinner that much more special.
Great environment on the campus of OKLAHOMA State University. Unique western ranch style dining room.
Good food and ambiance. Glad to have it both on osu campus and in Stillwater.
Service consistently is lacking. Our waitress was inattentive. We had to ask for drink refills and we had to ask more than once for our bill after clearly being done with our lunches. This was my experience on another, recent visit.
Excellent Rib Eye. Up there with Mahogany. Will be back.
I was expecting better food. I was expecting better trained staff; the server was not adequately trained which I believe is the fault of the restaurant, not the server. She would have been fine in another establishment.
The steaks were good and cooked to order, but not fabulous given the price.
The dinner plates have logos and the placement of plates should align logos as well as placement of the meat course. All of our presentations were misaligned. This is the fault of the kitchen.
The bread is fabulous. Keep your baker. The creme brulee cheesecake is perfect.
I would offer two sides in smaller proportions. It's a trivial cost, with obvious up-side. One of our party said the creamed corn side was too spicy, and he was not forewarned. Charging extra for sour cream, etc. for a baked potato just looks cheap, given that steak is $40+.
Service was not bad, but it definitely was not excellent: our server failed to ask us about our choice of sauce offering for our steaks (which, quite honestly, we would not have used anyway, with the philosophy that a good steak needs no sauce; and then the steaks were not all that good: Clicks is better, but they don't have wine).
Our server was not invisibly proactive--ideally the server anticipates what you want and asks only as need be. And they ask if you want more: wine, coffee, whatever. A missed income stream.
So I've been to The Rancher Club. Next time, I'll go to the Hideaway. You have an real opportunity here, and you are not taking advantage of it.
4 couples celebrating a friends birthday. Nice get together.
The Rancher's Club provides a consistently excellent experience. There's a variety of menu options and each is uniquely delicious. The service is always exceptional and the ambiance lends itself to a very special evening. Thank you!
