Great food and atmosphere as always!
Had a great time at The Ranch! The service was good and the food delicious--started off with their wheel bread with different varieties (pumpernickel, jalapeno, cranberry, etc.), ordered the porterhouse steak for two with twice baked potato and green bean & mushroom casserole, and had to get their Carolina Sweet Tea. For dessert, had the creme brulee--yum!--and in-house popcorn ice cream--so creamy!
Food is delicious at the Ranch
It was amazing service & delicious food
Another great dinner at The Ranch Restaurant! My friend was in town and we wanted to treat him to somewhere different. Not the usual steakhouse for a meat eater. The Ranch has great options. The crudo is always delicious. The seared foie gras with white chocolate bread pudding and strawberries literally melt in your mouth! One of the best combinations I've had with foie. Steaks are always cooked so well regardless of size. Just delicious!
My favorite restaurant for my birthday. The foods amazing. Servers are kind and accomidating.
This was our 4th visit to the Ranch and was our best experience. The food and service were amazing. However, the dinners were very pricey and there are many other restaurants in the Orange County area that are just as good and not as expensive. We were surprised to see how full the restaurant was at 6:00 p.m. so I'm assuming people love it and don't mind the cost.
The food and service is always outstanding. I love the place and have been eating here since they opened.
Came here on a Monday night for a birthday celebration. Upon our arrival, we walked up to 3 unwelcoming hostesses and told them we had a reservation at 8pm. We arrived 10 mins early and was told our table would be ready shortly. Over the next 15 minutes, we watched 2 parties walk in with no reservations whom were seated right away. Appalled at this observation, I also overheard a couple who just walked in and asked to be seated in the bar. They walked into the dining room right away without a problem. One of the hostesses came up to us and told us our table wasn't ready. She asked if we wanted to sit in the main dining room or a table that was ready. Tired from the wait, my boyfriend quickly answered that we would take the table that is ready. As we stood up, she told us to wait another min.... what was the point of all this negotiating if your other table wasn't ready either? After a few minutes, she finally walked us to a booth at the side of the restaurant. I laughed because I saw that same couple from earlier who asked to sit at the bar but was seated at the main dining room which we waited over 25 minutes for.
Upsetting as this situation was, I honestly couldn't help but wonder if we were treated like this because we were Asian. The experience at the waiting entrance and observations we made brought us to this conclusion, especially when we saw how these 3 hostesses had treated the other patrons compared to us. The vibe was off at first but as soon as the food arrived, it quickly warmed our hearts. We started off with the complimentary bread basket. The appetizers we ordered shortly arrived. My boyfriend loved the Fried Quail. I had a few bites of the potato salad underneath and it was DELICIOUS!! He ordered the New York Strip and I ordered the pea gnocchi. Wished they had more vegetarian entrees. Our seating arrangement was extremely upsetting, which is why I wanted to give them a 3.5 Star. I rounded up because service from our server and food was superb.
Great food, service was excellent. This was our 4th visit, never disappointed with The Ranch.
This restaurant is terribly overrated and overpriced. Meat is the main featured item, and it is just fair - prime rib was gristly, and not of great quality. Vegetables, often a highlight of steakhouses, were truly awful! The three we had were so rich and creamy that the vegetables could not be tasted...au gratin potatoes, creamed corn (which was also strangely gritty), and green beans with mushrooms. We could only imagine how rich was the macaroni and cheese! Charging $9 for one scoop of ice cream (and $16 for 3) is an example of the pricing here. Oh, and the excellent bread we were served on previous visits, was on this occasion dry and clearly not fresh out of the oven!
Awesome food and great service
Excellent. Best in OC!
What a great experience and wonderful food! The cuts of meat were huge but delicious and of excellent quality. All the sides were delicious. The wine list is excellent! The staff is amazing. We were treated like royalty and Jason, our waiter, along with Michael the GM and so many others went out of their way to make us feel so special. Thank you all for a fantastic evening. The other perk is that live music and line dancing were going on at The Saloon next door. Of course we joined in and had a blast. We highly recommend this unique and beautiful restaurant for a great experience in so many ways.
My husband and I love this place. One of our favorites in Orange County. I am a vegetarian and it is the first steak restaurant I have been to with incredible vegetarian entrees, not just a side of potatos/macncheesse/veggies. We were on a date, we’re thinking about going to a show afterwards but decided to take our time with dinner and go to the show of time afterwards. Our waitress started off great-telling is we should take our time and enjoy dinner, prompt service. However, dinner came to an abrupt end when she never asked if we wanted anything else before she passed by our table, dropped off a check, didn’t look at us, and said when you’re ready as she walked briskly past our table. We were both very thrown off by this, especially because service has usually been great and she was the one that had encouraged us to take our time. We felt like we were being kicked out because the restaurant was busy. My husband tried to ask for another drink and the waitress seemed confused and put off by this and seemed very hesitant and uncomfortable for him asking. We had only been dining for under 2 hours and this is not one of those restaurants that have table time limits. That is the only reason why I give this restaurant a 4 and not a 5. We had a bad experience with service here once before this as well, and sadly, it was enough for us to not want to come back.
Delicious meal, wonderful service, a 5 star dining experience.
Everything was great but was very noisy. The food is amazing. One of my favorite places.
Amazing, as always.
We were big fans of Mr. Stox which closed a few years ago. Many people suggested that we try the Ranch instead.
First, we are not be steakhouse-lovers. For the most part, I find that I can cook a better steak at home for a fraction of the price. So we did not go to the Ranch with the expectation of a great steak dinner (the Cowboy Ribeye is $118).
Instead, we ordered some appetizers and sides. None were memorable, and despite the fact that we did not order a main course, the bill was well over $100 for two. It was good, but not that good. I don't mind spending $$ for really good means, but this was not one of them. It just does not compare to Mr. Stox.
Service was good, and the ambiance was good. Value was poor.
Newest item of the menu, Fois Gras duo, don't miss it, was exceptional.
Came here for my husband’s birthday and The Ranch did not disappoint. Amazing experience and meal
The food is as exceptional as we remembered it from last year. The service seemed to lack the enthusiasm and attention we received last year.
Celebration of life
Celebrating my Daughter soon graduating from local university and celebrating her job that she got waiting for her. This place is my go to special celebration place. Amazing food experience!
Good food, huge steaks. Great service
Great evening out! Service was perfect! Could not be happier. Looking forward to dining there again.
The food was amazing.
The big cowboy steak was what we came for. It did not disappoint!
Awesome food and service! Highly recommend!
My server was Jesùs. I would like my main course to be served shortly after my appetizers. It was a bit longer than expected. I have been here more than 5 years but we need to continue to work on customer service. Thank you
Probably hands down the best steak house I've found in the Anaheim area thus far. I went for the first time a year ago and had the opportunity to dine here twice last week. Once in a large group and once with just two of us. The size of the group didn't matter as the service, the drinks and particularly the food were spot on! This will be the spot I go to anytime I am in the Anaheim area for dinner.
The food was amazing, everything was very good! I can’t wait to go back. The special “delmonico” steak was amazing! Definitely could have fed our table of 4. And the sides were wonderful! our waiter (Brian) was wonderful! He made suggestions for food & drinks. He saw that we were looking at our drink menu, and he suggested that the bartender makes a great pear martini. Great idea! And he also made a suggestion for my mom and her selection of wine. Overall, a great first experience at The Ranch for my birthday dinner! Oh, can’t forget the desserts!! Sooo yummy!!! Very happy with everything that we got for our selection!
The Ranch always provides exceptional food and dining experience. While I may think of steaks at The Ranch, all the food is of the same high quality. As an example, my wife had scallops and they were the best she has had for many years. Yes high quality food does not come cheaply, but you essentially get what you pay for and the portions are well sized.
Porterhouse was terrible. Didn't seem like fresh, dry and no flavor.
Outstanding food and service.
Everything was great up until the guests next to us were seated. The more alcohol consumed the louder and louder the group was. My husband and I were practically screaming at each other by the end of our dinner just to hear ourselves. That put a damper on the end of our night. The food and service was excellent. Jimmy was our server and did a phenomenal job.
Everything about this place is top notch! The food was so amazing and our server was even better! I wish I could afford to come here every weekend!!! This was our first time here and apparently there is a club as well and we went to that door. They were very rude and almost strip searched us before I realized we were at the wrong door.
Overall a very nice experience
Nicole was our server and she was great, I love when servers give their personal opinions as they rarely go wrong in their recommendations, Nicole did not disappoint. We will be back!
