The Ranch at Las Colinas Ratings and Reviews
Food was great! Service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Saw waiter twice, once to take order and second to bring bill. Would have ordered more drinks and possibly dessert but was never checked on. They were very busy that night but I was still very surprised.
The red fish I ordered had small bones in it. My girlfriend ordered the catfish and took 3 separate bites and each bite had small bones. It is the first time I have ordered fish here but I won’t be ordering fish again. I am a little disappointed since I have been coming here for years.
We arrived early for Valentine’s Day but were seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive. The 1/2 price wine was an unexpected treat! The food was good (especially the mac n chez) and plentiful. The live music was excellent and an appropriate volume to still carry on a conversation. Our waitress brought my wife a fresh rose at check out time. My 2nd dining experience here and I can recommend The Ranch as a good overall dining experience.
My first visit to the restaurant. The Ranch is inviting and open and the decor very tasteful. The hostesses were friendly and welcoming. The service and the food were both great. We had the meatloaf and and redfish and both were very tasty. Will definitely return to try other items. Very nice ambience and feel.
We were seated promptly even without a reservation. Our waiter Bob was friendly, cordial but not too familiar. We ordered onion rings, flatbread, salad and the Smoked fried chicken and a Sirloin medium rare and grilled asparagus. The onion rings came promptly as did our salad and flat bread. The onion rings were good, the salad was fresh and tasty. The flat bread was flavorful and well done. Our entrees arrived timely. The steak was medium rare, but tough and tasteless. The asparagus was grilled well and tasty. The smoked fried chicken was a disaster it was dry, tough and inedible, it was returned in-eaten. The chicken was taken off the bill.
Overall it’s attractive but don’t expect a high end meal!! Would consider it a western sports bar.
The onion rings, salad and asparagus were the best items we ordered.
Bob handled our criticism properly and did not take it personally.
We ate there last night with a party of 8. Margheritas were fresh and delicious. I would recommend The Onion rings they were delicious. We also had the homicide which was pretty good as well. Several of us got the red fish dinner which was fantastic. Others got the steak salad which also looked amazing and the comments were the dressing was perfect with it. All in all a very good meal service was good wish I lived closer so I could come here more often.
The food here is always very good. It was okay on this occassion. The appitizers were excellent but the main dishes seemed like they may have set in the kitchen a little longer than expected. Meats were a little cold and salads were fairly wilted.
I will say that the service was and always is exceptionally amazing though!
It was my good girlfriend's birthday, and she wanted to try something different. This was my second time visiting; the first was during lunch. It was very busy, but we were seated immediately due to reservations. Our initial server, there was gentlemen who attended to us as well, was very personable. She knew a lot about the menu and gave great suggestions. My friend ordered the steak salad. She said it was flavorful and filling, which isn't always the case for salads. I opted for the fried chicken. I thoroughly enjoyed that it was fried, but had a nice smoky grilled taste. Had the skin been fried all the way thought; it would have elevated the meal. As a southern girl, I take my macaroni very seriously. The macaroni had a perfect cheese to noodle balance, and was seasoned expertly. The breadcrumbs were not a distraction, but a perfect garnish to the macaroni. I substituted the Brussel sprouts and squash for the coleslaw. They were tender and without overusing, very flavorful.
I ordered a Moscow mule. It was ok, but I tasted more ginger beer than anything. Considering it was not a premium vodka; I would have thought that the price point would lend for a little more on the portion.
Since it was her birthday, she was able to choose from any one of the desserts. She selected the pecan pie, topped with ice cream. The portion was enough to share and worthy of Paula Dean's compliments. Overall, it was good dining; I think the prices were a tad escalated, but not enough to complain.
Our third visit to the Ranch, and each one has been fantastic. Very tasty food with huge portions. You won't leave hungry. They can be very busy during the evening happy hour, so reservations may be helpful. Save room to split one of the humongous desserts!
We stopped by before a 2cellos concert. It was a great experience and tasty food. All locally sourced items on the menu, their local beer was great.
Very tasty - we were placed in the rear dining room and it was amazingly quiet in there, I am sure being seated in the bar area would be louder. Great place to watch a game over some local brews.
I really wish they had a location on the east side of Dallas.
The food was absolutely amazing! Had the herb roasted bird and was blown away by the delicious taste. Only part lacking was the service, had to wait 15 minutes to get our check then another 10 minutes to get it cashed out. I will definitely be coming back for the food.
Had reservations and was seated immediately at a small 2 person table when they had one individual sitting at a four seat table in two different places. Service was very slow. We had 830 reservations and finally got our waitress back to place our order at 855. Ordered the 6 oz filet medium rare and it came out medium well....meat was dry because of it. Was a very busy night there so the noise level was crazy loud. Ambiance was nice. Not a bad place but wouldn’t highly recommend it above other places based off of the service we received for the amount our bill was.
