I like bringing people here because it seems like authentic "Texan" cuisine since everything is sourced from Texas. I have to say I was surprised at the poor service I received which was unusual, but I'll attribute it to being a fluke and will probably return again. The food is great, highly recommend the ribs.
Always my favorite place to take visitors from out of town! Solid menu, great service, wonderful tasting food/drinks!
This was my first time visiting The Ranch at Las Colinas and was really looking forward to the experience. First off, we really appreciate the ability to request different table and seat options via Open Table. We requested a standard table, but upon arrival were asked to seat in the bar area at a high top table. We rejected the table option due to the taller chairs had no real back support and the noise in this area was not what we wanted from dinner. We were quickly sat in another area with a standard table type. Why give this option if you're not going to use it to satisfy your guests? We next had our waitress provide some menu options and take our drink orders. I stuck with water and my wife ordered a margarita. The appetizers were good, but nothing outstanding. I ordered the chipotle meatloaf while my wife ordered the cobb salad. I asked for fried okra as a side, but was told by the waitress that was not a possible side replacement...fine, i'll take the green beans. When the order was brought out, my green beans were missing which I asked the waitress...she said she got me the fried okra instead??????? My meatloaf was a bit on the dry side, but the mashed potatoes and okra were good. I was not brought the side dipping sauce with my okra and requested to get some when the waitress came back by. I did not receive it until I had 3 pieces of okra left and instead dipped them into my mashed potatoes. At the end of the meal, we requested to split the bill between the two couples there. The waitress instead charged our friends credit card for both of our meals to which I paid him cash instead of waiting for correction and another possible error. All in all, I expected MUCH better service out and food from this restaurant, especially for the amounts they charge for their food. Most like will not be returning.
Good place for Texas vibes and southern comfort food.
Great to be back out dining after last year of Covid. We always enjoy our visits to The Ranch. Our waiter Mitch was great and the food was amazing.
Fantastic all around
Had 845pm reservation and rushed
Advised kitchen closed at 9pm and had to hurry and order and get out.
Waiter rushed everything. Not enjoyable.
Asked for more corn bread said they threw it all away.
Hostess said kitchen was open and we would be good.
Doe the price didn’t enjoy the attitude of staff and being rushed for
The dining room behind the reception/wine room is extremely loud for evening dining. We found ourselves yelling during our sit down meal and could barely hear the other comments. This atmosphere takes away from causal dinner conversation, business meals, and that enjoyable evening out.
If weather permits, and you want to hear the other people, enjoy a good conversation or stories shared, ask to sit on the outside patio. Inside is just way too loud.
It was good. Unfortunately two of our steaks were over cooked. But everything else was great. We were 7 people.
I’m not a newbie to The Ranch. This would be my 4th time dining at the restaurant and like always the food is always good. The servers are always friendly and the food never takes too long to be prepared. 10/10
Food and beverage was of very good quality with nice presentation, service was friendly and attentive but not intrusive, dinning room is large and seating is spacious
Only my second visit. My friend and I loved it. Mike, our Server, was attentive but never pushy. We never felt rushed. My friend, who is a regular, said that the Servers never rush the diners. Mike did a great job. Steaks were great. Wonderful flavor and very tender. I’m a French Fry nut; the Fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. Wide variety of entrees, price wise: $15 steak hamburgers to $50 steaks. One small warning: by 7:00 when the restaurant was fairly full, it was becoming a little noisy. But, I believe that the noise was caused by everyone having a great time. Mike, thanks for a really nice evening.
Great Restaurant. Texas twist on food and environment! Can't say enough.
Always great food and service.
The Ranch never disappoints.
We cut a lot of slack post COVID, but I wish I could give a less than one star rating. This was our second bad experience at this location. After the first, we thought we would give the Ranch one more chance. We were late for our reservation and attempted to call to advise we were running late, with no answer. Upon arrival there were 3 ladies at the hostesses stand that were more interested in their phones than helping customers. We were told it would be 15-20 minutes for a table. 45 minutes later we realized we had been forgotten about, and checked back. I was able to get one of the young ladies to get their head out of their phone and get us a table. Once seated at least 5 different servers walked past us without so much as an acknowledgement much less service. After 20 minutes we left.
I used to take a lot of out of town friends and clients here for good food and the Texas experience, but I will never go back. In this time of post COVID, when everyone else is competing for business, I won’t be spending money in this restaurant.
It had been over a year since we last visited The Ranch due to Covid 19. And this visit was even better than we last remembered if! Outstanding service from the moment we walked into probably the BEST Prime Rib I’ve ever had! The cut, temperature, and preparation were PERFECT!! As always, thanks for a great dinner, it’s AMAZING to be back!!
The Ranch has a nice Texas city atmosphere with the ambiance and decor etc.. The food was delicious and for my money a good value. We will be back to check out the back bar area and the live music.
Another great visit!! Switched up our order this time. Started with the onion rings, which they are amazing - so crispy! I had the Margherita flatbread which had amazing flavor! My husaband had the garlic stuffed filet which was cooked perfectly! Robin (Robyn) was our server and did an amazing job!! She was always attentative to our beverages - making sure they were never empty and was always timly in checking on us!
I enjoyed the Ranch. The food and the atmosphere were good, and it was perfect my lunch with friends.
My wife and two of her friends raved about the placed. We’ll have to go back again.
The food and service were meet beyond my expectations. The food was truly phenomenal.
Amazing. Everything is great
We were sat at a table right next to another party of 10 that had 2 young kids. There were 8 empty tables around us, but they put us right on top of the other table. The server also forgot one of the appetizers that we ordered, but we ended up not needing it. Overall, the experience was great and we will be back. I must provide a fair review of this experience as every other time that I have visited has been excellent.
Food not as good as before Covid hit!
Husband had to send his back. Not worth the trip
The Ranch is our favorite restaurant in Dallas. Excellent atmosphere and the food is outstanding. Highly recommended.
We were seated within about 10 minutes of our reservation time, the restaurant was not busy. Would have loved to enjoy one of the patios but were told they were closed. Our server was ok but not as attentive as you would like, often w/o water, etc. When we didn’t order alcoholic drinks our service went way down, unfortunately. The food was good and came out quickly. We were meeting with relatives we don’t see often so we stayed to visit for a while, it wasn’t busy. After a bit we overheard one of the staff telling our server to tell us “to get the F out of there”. Very disappointing as we left a big tip due to the size of our group, 10 and we earlier shared w/ server we hadn’t seen our family in over a year and were excited to visit. Sad that there are so many people needing jobs and these two employees apparently don’t appreciate theirs. Food was ok, but might not go back due to employees behavior, manager was notified but didn’t seem overly concerned.
It was the 3rd Anniversary of our 1st date that we had at The Ranch! The Staff and Management were Wonderful and even gave us a Free Dessert for Our Celebration!
Last dinner in Texas before heading back to Hawaii. Wanted to eat someplace close to the hotel. This place did not disappoint. Service was a little slow, but the food and ambiance made up for it. Would definitely comeback if in the area again.
Solid food and service. The redfish is outstanding.
Easter brunch was great!
It is definitely our stop when visiting Las Colinas
Carnivores and/or steak enthusiasts gather here for juicy cuts of beef. You pay for quality! Amazing food and amazing customer service.
My first experience trying out this place and I have to say I will be back for another great food and great time!
great meal, great restaurant, sat outside was fantastic. Server was awesome.
Great for any occasion. Large spaces and good food.
Fried Green Tomatoes were wonderful. Rustic atmosphere. Will definitely make another trip to eat here!
Seated us on the porch which is great if you want to hear the music, not for conversations. Initial service was very slow, not type. For The Ranch, but improved as the crowds reduced. If you make an online reservation and want to guarantee an inside seat I would also call and clarify your request.
I really enjoyed The Ranch - the food was awesome. There was great variety in appetizers, entrees and sides, and the drinks were phenomenal.
I have been here many many times and have really loved the food. Unfortunately, our food wasn’t that great this time. I ordered the pork chop and it was really large and overcooked. My husband ordered the smoked fried chicken and that was dry as well.
