Food was excellent. The staff were attentive. Maybe more attention could be given to the decor as it didnt look like a 1 michelin star dining area.
Everything was great.
Absolutely awesome experience! Thanks to the Quilon team for the excellent food and service.
Enjoyed a good meal. The food was good but I was expecting more from a Michelin restaurant. The service was excellent.
Amazing experience - from the food to the service. I would 10/10 recommend Quilon looking for an amazing culinary experience
Delicious food n great service . Decent collection of whiskies in the bar
Great ambience with excellent food !!!!
The seafood platter is highly recommended.
Cocktails options are the only let down.
The service is fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and the staff are brilliant. Food delicious, and although it is expensive it is worth it for a special occasion.
Food was absolutely delicious and we will definitely return to try more of the menu. The service was wonderful and we were made to feel very special. The decor and ambience was just right and the staff were engaging, charming and knowledgable. Thank you.
We had lovely food but several times during the evening we were left feeling we’d been ignored by the waiting staff.
We had to ask 3 times for our wine & table water to be replenished.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of dining at Quilon. The seafood and the non-veg tasting menus were very good individually, and thanks to the Chef for accommodating different requests from the guests.
The service was excellent and the staff were very good with explaining the various dishes and the spread.
We hope to visit again soon as opportunity permits.
The set lunch tasting menu exceeded expectation
An overall pleasant experience
A birthday dinner that went very well
The food was excellent! The service was outstanding! Everything was served in a timely manner. The staff were very welcoming and it was all to a very high standard! I would highly recommend Quilon to everybody who wants to have an excellent meal!
Eye—opening food, excellent wine matches, and perfect service. We will back!
Wonderful food - would recommend the taster menu.
Great service, great food and nice ambience: would highly recommend.
I love the food and careful service. Always a treat.
Great vegetarian tasting menu and a lovely evening
I thought the food was very basic, dry, tasteless and unappealing for the price; especially as it has a Michelin star awarded over a decade ago and retained year on year, we dined as a party of 6 and had a good selection off the menu. Very disappointing at £100 per head......
Great food, had the tasting menu and more then enough food. A lot of service (maybe too much!) but a good night for a meal with colleagues.
Outstanding food, staff, ambiance. It is also quiet so it is possible to have a conversation. It is expensive but great value in the sense that the food is truly excellent. I don't mind paying in light of the great food and that this restaurant serves.
I have been there a few times and the food new let’s me down especially the rassam!
Lovely setting, polite and helpful staff and great food!
Food and service were wonderful
the service was very good, the food was very nice , although we did have the Sunday brunch set menu, we will definitely go back for the ala carte menu.
Unbelievable experience from start to finish. Staff was incredibly attentive without being at all intrusive. We highly recommend The Quilon.
The staff were extremely diligent and friendly and they provided great suggestions in terms of the menu and what would be best to have. It made for a very special 60th birthday for my father.
Absolutely exceptional food and service. Truly memorable dining experience.
Very good food and service
Good restaurant that needs a few tweaks to be exceptional. In summary, amazing starters and wine but very bland main dish. Timing is all wrong and needs fixing. Staff are very friendly but disorganised. Do inform the diners about complementary dishes at the start.
Long review because I genuinely want them to do well. Hopefully this will be seen as constructive.
First the positives, staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Ambiance & decor was pleasant. Wine list is priced very reasonably for the quality.
The Fisherman’s catch starter was simply fantastic! The seafood was very fresh. Each piece cooked to perfection and tasted incredible.
The complementary mini popadoms were freshly made and the chutneys and accompanying sauces were just divine.
The complementary mini rassam soup palate cleanser was delicious.
Here are the negatives.
The signature Mains dish - Braised lamb shank was very disappointing. The meat was tough and the sauce and flavour was very bland. Simply not a good dish - let alone Michelin star quality. The tomato rice was average as was the Malabar paratha.
I didn’t order the Briyani as I was told that it didn’t have any accompanying dhal which is very strange as this is standard in every single Indian restaurant.
The signature Qojito (with chilli infused vodka) tasted very average. The crushed ice was not the right size - a very petty point I admit but this is meant to be a Michelin star restaurant
The timing of dishes was very poor. It took forever for my cocktail to arrive. The starters arrived before the popadoms. The rassam soup arrived at the same time as the main.
The whole paying process was very strange. No complimentary sweet - even something small would have been a nice gesture.
I informed the restaurant during the booking that it was my birthday. They totally forgot. I ordered my taxi and then they rushed over saying they have a cake for me. But it was too late. A real shame.
We have been to Quilon before and so we were prepared for the outrageous costs. However, the waiter convinced us to allow him to select items that we would split. Splitting 90 pound dish that had five tiny pieces of cod was hardly what we expected! He ordered way too much food for us. We left one dish untouched! All in all, it was a very disappointing experience.
Wonderful vegetarian options and top notch service in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend !
The food and service was absolutely amazing, a great experience. The ambiance could be improved but this did not affect the experience.
Staff very accommodating
The food and cocktails were lovely but the whole experience was a little different than what the party who attended expected. Food took too long to arrive and the reservation looked like it was an after thought. Drinks were missed and we were overcharged for water.
Beautiful food with subtle flavours. Drinks expensive, but a good selection.
Calm and enticing atmosphere.
While the food was absolutely on point with what we’ve come to expect from Michelin-starred restaurants, the ambience and service fell short.
We were delighted by the variety and quality of the seafood tasting menu which was delicious.
However, the delivery of food was awkward, disjointed and painfully slow, while the initial warm welcome was soon forgotten with an impersonal approach that was more suited for business dinners rather than couples or families.
Staff exceptional and helpful, starter's unbelievable, would go again
Amazing food and brilliant staff, polite and friendly
