The Quiet Woman Ratings and Reviews
I was really looking forward to enjoying the Quiet Women. I had the ribeye w a bone, well cooked, char taste was good but the steak\meat was blaaa. I ordered dessert , apple crisp..in a 2” bowl, no crust and very very burn my tongue hot.. I think it was over microwaved..but no crust just soggy apples. Service was ok but nothing to rave about... very disappointed.
It had been awhile since I last dined at The Quiet Woman and I really wanted to go back. I am so happy that I did! I ordered the Short Ribs, it came with the QW salad which was fun to add ingredients to my salad. My Short Ribs were perfect, flavorful and just right. Service was spot on and our server was really engaging. I'll be back soon!
We love Quiet Woman unfortunately this night my baseball cut was torched. Completely black on one side and extremely overdone. Asked for MR got well done. Showed it to server and manager/door host but nothing was done. I am not the type to complain but a new steak should have been delivered or taken off the bill. I did not eat it but took it home to cut up for my terrier. Also ordered a bake potato instead of mashed. Got mash. I had to ask to get the baker delivered.
QW is our favorite neighborhood restaurant and has been for many years. It's ambience is cozy, dimmly-lit with big boothes. It is casual, but not too casual, so we always feel like we've had a nice evening out. We celebrated our anniversary with this visit. Our server (Lauren) was excellent, the bus boy was on top of his game, and even the manager stopped by to check on our well-being. Our meals were delicious. I had the Icelandic Cod special (would happily order again), and my husband had the bone-in rib eye steak grilled to perfection.
Shrimp appetizer and salads were very tasty. My steak was excellent. My wife's chicken was OK. While there were several couple's having dinner, this is a steak house more suited to guys. The six guys at the next table having a business discussion seemed to be enjoying it the most.
The QW is a 1960s Southern California survivor---straight from the Wonder Years when America was self-confident and the Dodgers had just left New York to go West . There menu is neither nouvelle nor fused; the fresh seafood offerings do have range and are competently prepared. The breaded calamari steak starter, alone, is worth the trip; seriously. The beef chop selections are also first rate. We would describe the ambiance of the QW as "faded elegance on PCH". Servers are capable and attentive but not cloying. The QW's good reputation is earned.
With most the owner run top end restaurants gone, this is a rare jewel that has survived. Exceptional food with long time staff that really care. The people in the back of the house have been there for years too!! Small and busy, you really feel special!! Highly recommend it. . !!!
