The Quarter Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Excellent service (with the exception noted below) - very creative main dishes.
Was dining with an elderly relative to celebrate his birthday - had requested and received confirmation telephone call that a candle would be placed in ordered dessert - had been assured that server would be informed when we arrived - so trusted this would happen & did not follow up when we arrived at the restaurant - was disappointed - it did not happen - so advice to others - always check & follow up - do not trust that request will be communicated & acted on (note restaurant was not at all busy at the time).
We have lived in Mariemont for over 20 years. We dined at Gigi's ( previous restaurant in the location) and then tried Quarter Bistro when it first opened and were disappointed. We found it to be loud and pricey.
Our visit last Friday was OUTSTANDING. The food and service was wonderful. Clearly a different chef, who is very imaginative and creates beautiful plates. We concede that we should have given this restaurant a second chance a long time ago, but will now be back over and over!!
Maybe it was an off day. The manager was sitting around a lot, when thanking the bus boy for giving our water the reply was "yep," presentation of the bread was not appealing. Food was subpar for the price. The food comparable to what I would expect from Applebees. Overall disappointing.
An excellent all-round restaurant whose menu falls somewhat in between the finest dining in town and the better high end comfort food places. There should be something for everyone from salads and appetizers to small plates or a variety of traditional main dishes. Prices are not low, but are a good value for the level of the restaurant. A big plus is nice outside dining in season.
We enjoy leisurely fine dining, gourmet food and wine. We also frequent indie movie houses. Quarter Bistro is our default choice when we go to the Mariemont Theatre. They do an excellent job pacing our meal, and we never feel rushed. They offer wine pairings by the glass, matching the perfect wine with each dish for us. Service is consistently good, and the staff is knowledgeable about the food and wine. Salads are imaginative. I love the mussels; they make a meal! Quarter Bistro is a favorite.
Mariemont has a restaurant gem --Quarter Bistro. Three of us went here after Playhouse in the Park and enjoyed culmination of a great evening: excellent, non-invasive service, creative main course menu with perfect finishing touch of key lime tart dessert.
Even though one-half portion of salad was not listed as an option, we were able to order with no problem. Crab cake, halibut and tacos were our main course choices and all three got top rating. Dining on outdoor patio added to the pleasure.
Sophisticated with small town atmosphere would be a "one sentence description" of our experience.
I love this restaurant, particularly in summer because I love their outside seating. This is one of the few restaurant in Cincinnati that was able to upscale the outside seating. I love the lights in the trees, the decoration, the withe table cloths and the food is very very good. Here I had the best fish tacos ever. They know what they are doing. Thank you.
I had not been to the Quarter Bistro in a while and it was great to return. Mussels are second to none, so was the crab cake. My son had the short ribs and he was pleased too. Our waitress packed dessert for us so that we could catch our movie. One little negative was the side caesar salad. I personally did not care for the presentation and the price.
We will go back sooner rather than later.
