My wife and I enjoyed the best dinner out we could have imagined after the 2.5 month hiatus. The service was attentive but no intrusive. The atmosphere was vibrant but but quiet so we could enjoy a quiet evening out for date/birthday celebration. The food, most importantly and why we love to go out, was absolutely amazing. We immediately told other friends about our experience and they said they had the same great experience. In short, we are planning a double date in the near future. We can’t wait to go back!
Late last summer, I sat on a bench outside Mariemont Theater and watched people enjoying dinner a few feet away on a sunny patio shaded with trees and brightened with flowers. I decided I had to try it and I finally got there tonight. Outdoor dining started last weekend and indoor dining just this weekend. Tables are well-spaced, which I liked because I didn't have to squeeze past anyone to reach our places. All the staff wore matching cloth masks and no-one looked uncomfortable in any way. Although the tables weren't full on this stormy evening, it was clear that many regulars had returned. I decided to try a Tiffany- a cocktail made with Prosecco sparkling wine, Beefeater (which I later found out was gin), lavender syrup, and a swirl of lemon. It was quite delicious. My companion had calamari and appreciated that these were just the rings, not the leggy mess you get at some establishments. He followed that with the special - a beautifully cooked piece of halibut with broccolini, and swirls of everything imaginable. Nouvelle Cuisine often takes longer to describe than it does to eat, but each course was, as my Dad used to say "an elegant sufficiency".
I started with ravioli stuffed with English peas and served with sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms. Normally, it would have prosciutto but they had no problem leaving that out at my request and it was still packed with flavor. Finally, there was strawberry shortcake, below! Poppy-seed cake was topped with sliced strawberries, candied lemon, and a dollop of creamy raspberry ice-cream. The plate was drizzled with a berry sauce and the whole was crowned with whipped cream. 😋😁 I may have died and gone to Heaven.
The team did an amazing job navigating dining in this new era. The food was outstanding and it was wonderful being back at one of our favorite spots with friends!
Great food. Great service. Just great.
Antoine was a great server. Bar music and noise clashed with over head restaurant music. Difficult to have conversation even when restaurant only a third filled.
Great service, excellent food, wonderful drinks.
Would like to see true biodegradable paper straws instead.
When some biodegradable plastics decompose in landfills, they produce methane gas. This is a very powerful greenhouse gas that adds to the problem of global warming. Biodegradable plastics and bioplastics don't always readily decompose.Nov 1, 2019
Thank you Antoine for making a celebration an experience. Recommendations for food and wine were superb and much appreciated. We will be back!
Everything was wonderful as always. We love the way the chef takes pride in all of his creations. Service was impeccable even on a crowded Friday night!
Andi was our Server and did a great job!
Short ribs were " out of this world " yummy--- I think I've found my favorite place for short ribs!
Friend had butternut squash and also very tasty.
I will be back!
Thank you for a very nice evening and service!
The Quarter is our favorite place for outstanding food and service in a first class restaurant in the Kenwood/Maderia area. The ambience is superb. We've never been disappointed.
We had an outstanding dinner at Quarter Bistro. The service was top notch (even when she got busy) and the food was fantastic. We ordered the crab cake as an appetizer. It was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The lobster bisque was really good and the short rib entree was excellent. The s'mores dessert was our favorite part.
My only complaint is that the tables are set pretty close together, but it wasn't intrusive. The restaurant is pretty small, so they have to be close together.
We had another outstanding dinner at our favorite local restaurant.
Always a great place to eat! Service was incredible. Server took great care of my wife’s meal who has dietary restrictions.
Always delightful and best food and service in Mariemont
Our server, Kelsey, who we've had before at this neighborhood gem of a restaurant, did an excellent job. She's very personable and knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. We have no complaints at all about our food or wine--both excellent. We were pleased to see business so good at this fine restaurant.
Very friendly, clean, excellent food, brilliant combinations of flavors!! Will be back for sure!
My wife and I had a fabulous post-Valentine Day dinner at the Quarter Bistro. I find the decor stunning. Drinks were good, and the food was great. I had the short ribs, and my wife had a salmon special. We had the mushroom flatbread to start and it was very good.... really think crust and not too much sauce and cheese, so the taste of the mushrooms came through. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. It was a really fun experience.
I had hoped for a special evening, but ended up disappointed. I had made reservations for our 5th anniversary dinner. Having dined there before, I knew seating could be tight, so I asked for a special table for our celebration in the comments. No such luck. We were seated at what is really a 4 top, separated down the middle with a planter and up close and personal with the couple seated 3 feet next to us. Our server was good and attentive. Yet the food was another disappointment. My wife ordered French Onion soup which she was unable to finish due to the extreme saltiness. My rack of lamb, while cooked perfectly was also salted to the point of overpowering the dish. My risotto was cool and sticky. Small details were lacking, no salt (not that we needed any) pepper shakers on the table, the lack of offering fresh ground pepper for my Caesar Salad (although I observed most other diners were offered), tight quarters with the wait staff bumping into my chair every so often. I cannot recommend.
Went for the Valentines Day special. The decorations were a nice touch the ambiance was nice but the food was just eh in my opinion. I wouldn’t consider myself a total food snob but my In my opinion each dish was just kind of average for the hefty price tag of $85 a plate. I’ve had much better food elsewhere for half the price.
Again, it wasn’t bad BUT it wasn’t great either. Nothing in particular stood out to me. So give it a try if you’d like, or maybe try somewhere else too.
Every bite of every course was delicious! Our sever Kelsey was top notch!
We choose to go to the Quarter for Valentines day because we know they do a great job. On this occasion the chef really created a thoughtful, sophisticated, delicious menu. Highlights for me were the crab cake, grilled Cesar salad, and of course the filet mignon. Thanks for a lovely night!
Fabulous Valentine's Day dinner!! We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day at the Bistro. The dinner was outstanding, and the ambiance was off the charts!
Excellent food and service in a better than pleasant atmosphere.
So glad to continue to come back here and get the same wonderful experience.
Tables are very close which makes background noise excessive
A group of old friends met at the bar. The drinks were delicious and the food was delicious and perfect for sharing. An enjoyable night out in an intimate setting.
We had the best table and waiter!!
Food and service were excellent as always. The noise level
Was extremely loud. It was difficult to carry on a conversation. That is my negative. The total experience was quite good.
Birthday great ambiance terrific service and food
My son texted me suggesting that we should go to the Quarter on Saturday night to have a relaxing, nice meal. We were both frazzled and looked forward to the Quarter cheeseburger. Marty, Jen, Tom and I had exactly what we sought, and enjoyed our server's recommendation for a new pinot as well as the other sides. We love the Quarter.
Andy was a great server and we were taken right away. Our request for a table on the sides was honored. We asked for this knowing that it does get noisy, especially in the middle of the room. Had plenty of time to enjoy our meal and make our movie. Very nice.
Katie was very attentive and knew the menu well
We are a family of diverse food preferences and we each found something delightful to enjoy.
Very welcoming staff upon arrival! Promptly seated and for the remainder of the evening enjoyed everything. The server, Andi, was very knowledgable throughout our questions on the menu and we were even checked on by the General Manager and Chef. Thank you for a great experience with our out of town guests.
Service and food were really great.
Seated on time 7:45 at the very best table for two - comfortable cushioned corner near the bar! Excellent service and attention to details by our server. Autumn salad and salmon entree were both plated beautifully. Big plus, the food was very hot and delicious flavors. Too full for desert, we lingered over coffee which was also very good.
Great service from Sarah and great food from kitchen including special steak/prawn and mushroom soup and crab cake for our lite eater!
Always excellent. Between the service (Thank you Samantha) the wine, and of course the food it never fails to meet our expectations.
Mt lamb was cooked perfectly as was my wife’s steak. Kale salad was very tasty.
My favorite part of the meal was the Beef Wellington which was an appetizer. Wish it was always on the menu.
