The Quarter Bistro Ratings and Reviews
I visit the Quarter quite often. They have GREAT happy hour specials during weekdays, and an incredible Sunday brunch! Recently I visited for my daughters Birthday which is on Valentines day. I had orriganlly booked in advance for a 1:00 PM lunch which due to her busy work schedule had to be changed to the evening. I then booked a 5:00PM which at first was available, however due to heavy booking, 8:30 PM was the only spot open when I viewed my confirmation. I arrived at 4:30 PM and explained my dilemma to the manager, of whom was very understanding and accommodating! I was given a great table in the semi-private room that I wanted. My daughter was an hour late due to a work meeting. The waiter Darrin, was wonderful! Not hovering but always available when needed. The manager and all staff was absolutely great! The food was excellent as usual. even with all the reservation changes and long wait on my daughters arrival, the manager and staff where absolutely wonderful! Never a complaint or being rushed, which is amazing considering this was one of the busiest nights of the year, and they were completely booked!! Awesome people, awesome food, awesome place!!!
My husband and I went to QB for our Valentine's Celebration. We understand this is a busy night for dining out and it tests the management and systems. It is a berametor. We had an unfavorable experience. The worst part was the over an hour wait for our entrees. By the time they arrived we were not in the mood to have a dining experience. While the manager made an adjustment in the bill we would rather have had a lovely evening. While I do not know the inside workings of their establishment my thought is they took too many reservations for the ability of the kitchen to fulfill in a timely manner.
Had a nice Valentines Day meal with my girlfriend. The whitefish was absolutely delicious, and I really enjoyed my salmon. The calamari was a solid appetizer as well. Our waiter was friendly. They were hopping since it was VDay so it is nice to see the food quality didn't suffer. Well done!
From the time we walked through the door until we left we were treated royally. Our reserved table was ready and our server, Irene, was wonderful. She was very busy with several large tables, yet managed to tend to us without a wait and didn’t forget our slightest request. My salmon and lentils was amazing, my daughter loved her chicken and both men nearly licked their plates to get every bit of their pasta with steak and Gorgonzola/walnut sauce. It was a fantastic meal. We loved it. Will go back again soon.
We eat there because the food is good and it is close to our office, but we always have to weigh whether we have a long time for lunch, as the service is extremely slow. The waitstaff is fine, but it takes a very long time for food to come out of the kitchen. We would eat there much more often, but rarely have that much time to spend.
We went for New Years Eve, so I cannot speak about how it is for non-event dining. The following are my thoughts:
Food: Fair. Not bad, but certainly nothing special. Because it was a holiday, the menu was limited.
Service: Poor. I’d like to give a better rating because I could tell our server was young and inexperienced. We could barely hear him because he spoke so quietly. He rarely checked on us, and my husband ended up drinking my water because our server did not refill our glasses until the end of the meal. On top of that a 20% tip was automatically added to our total (for a party of two). I would have never tipped this server 20% due to the poor service, but I didn’t feel it was worth making an issue out of it. I would understand if it was a larger party, but the automatic tip was not cool.
Price: Terrible for the value. The prices were overinflated because of the holiday. My husband’s meal cost $8 more than it had been listed on the online menu. For a table of two, our bill was $94 for Chicken Marsala, Steak Diane, a Caesar salad, and one glass of wine. As I stated above, the food was nothing special, so I can’t even give credit for it being an amazing meal. I can honestly make a better steak at home, and the mashed potatoes were not good at all.
We had always wanted to try this restaurant, but it’s definitely a one and done for us. I can’t think of any reason I would want to return. The automatic tip on the terrible service was what sealed that.
We, my wife and I, were seated with three other larger groups. This was not conducive for a couple night out New Years Eve. I wish you would be up front about your tipping policy. If it is going to be automatically added on for special occasions we should be informed about it ahead of time or at least on the menu. What you ought really do is pay the employees a living wage and include their wages with the price of the meal. Forget about the tipping.
We had a mixture of very good food and very mediocre food.
Table and server were prepare for our arrival. Made known we had a short turnaround time and they assured us they would get us out in time. They missed by 5 minutes. More than happy with that. Food was not spectacular, but tasty enough for a return trip. Only downfall was our ordered appetizer never arrived. They did give it to us complimentary to go as we were leaving, which was an adequate remediation.
Hadn't been to this restaurant in about a year and was disappointed to see that it had degraded. There was no one stationed at the reception desk when we arrived, but someone heading out the door with purse and keys in hand offered to check us in. Upon arrival at our table (reserved with anniversary indicated), we found a dirty tablecloth and incomplete table setting. Waitress tried to remove a drink that I wasn't finished with from the table and stuck her fingers inside the glass as if she were clearing the table. The noise level was loud, exacerbated by the fact that there were two music tracks running, one normal music and a Christmas track on top of it. Restrooms were filthy, water everywhere and litter all over the floor due to overflowing trash can. Anniversary was never acknowledged. I won't be returning.
This was the second time I had been to this restaurant and wasn't impressed either time. The food is too spicy for my taste. There are a few vegan options. I'm not vegan, but the other couple were we with are. I ordered the Chicken San Francisco. It was over powered with cream. Asked for no sour cream, but they put in on anyway. My husband ordered the Chicken Andouille Pasta...way too spicy. Ours friends ordered potato cased and a salad. The place was really busy with alot of large parties. Our server was ok, but he had to cover a lot of territory so service wasn't the best. Didn't get bread until meals showed up. Had to wait for drinks. I probably won't be back.
Service was very attentive and food was delivered without a long wait. My friend ordered 2 starters instead of a main dish, and the portions were extremely generous: one very large crab cake and 4 large pieces of bruschetta, both with salads. I had the ribs, which were so tender they fell right off the bones. There were about 6 ribs on the full slab, which turned out to be plenty along with the baked beans, cole slaw, dirty rice, and large corn muffin. Everything was delicious.
Was disappointed in the "Thanksgiving" dinner. One dinner was hardly any turkey and the turkey that was on plate was all dark meat and looked old. Could not eat it. When asked how was the meal we had told them about the meat and instead of taking off bill was given another turkey meal to take home which was not eaten. We had 8 in our party, One got the Ham dinner and ham was very dry. 2 got steak and both enjoyed that, 2 had turkey and both were disappointed. Wish the regular menu was available during this time but was a very limited selection and main reason we went out for Thanksgiving was most did not want turkey and wanted a variety to choose from
I think the restaurant could use a little update. Starting to look a little worn i.e. dirty carpet, nicks and scratches in chairs.
Went for brunch and omelet table was looking dirty, food remains on table. The gentleman making omelets was using his phone during downtime. Was a little disappointed in brunch but we enjoy coming for happy hour.
Dined here in July, so when a fly kept hovering around our table, it was noted, but not a deal-breaker. However, when a young fly appears at the table in November and it’s 30 degrees outside, this may indicate a serious issue in the restaurant. The fly landed in our food a couple of times and then on my boyfriend’s forehead. We politely told the manager and he took $10 off our $100 meal. Since my dinner was ruined, I had to go get dinner elsewhere at 11:15pm on a rainy Friday evening. If I were the manager, I wouldn’t have let customers who had a fly ruin their dinner leave without making it right. We are so disgusted and disappointed and just hope we aren’t sick tomorrow.
My wife and I have been wanting to try the quarter bistro for some time now. We finally made the trip on a cold night when we were looking for the convenience of close parking rather than having to park and walk a few blocks. We were pleasantly surprised with the ambiance as we walked in and continued to be pleased with the whole dining experience. The service was prompt and everything from the appatizers to desert was delicious. Oh and the bread, you better believe I asked for a second basket so I could sneak some home with my leftovers.
We dined on a Saturday night during a football game. Though we had a reservation, we chose to dine in the bar. Highly recommend the fried oysters...they are terrific! The jambalaya is good, as well. There is a wide variety of appetizers, salads, and entrees, and so this is a good snacking place, as well as a place to dine. Service was attentive.
Nice evening with friends on a busy football weekend. The restaurant was packed but we were quickly seated--reservations are essential during football season. Our waiter was very busy, but kept a sense of humor and did his job well. My sautéed seafood dinner was excellent, light yet very tasty. My husband's steak and fettuccini with walnuts and blue cheese was a bit dry, but he loved it anyway. Friends had chicken and tilapia dinners and enjoyed both. Large and varied menu with great choices. Very good food and a fun place! You won't be disappointed.
Since my husband and I are now lite eaters, we appreciated finding the tenderloin tips as a nice sub for a larger meal which is much too heavy. Unfortunately, two of my tips were gristly which was a disappointment, even though it was all very tasty.
Always love the ambience!
