The Q Restaurant & Bar (fka BarBersQ) Ratings and Reviews
A delightful find, this place does very high quality, tasty versions of everyday barbecue favorites. Most items have a high quality upgrade to them (like corn on the cob with a special butter already applied that is delicious), and they have a selection of homemade sauces and cole slaws. Foodies won't be disappointed.
Like all of Napa, it's not cheap. But you can pay the same prices elsewhere and get "meh." The service we had on our visit was very personal and super-attentive. Our waitress gave us lots of good advice, and did an outstanding job of suggesting side dish substitutions that made us happy. One of those places you stumble into and are increasingly impressed with.
We consider Q one our "default" restaurants. We are active diners in Napa and think this one
has an interesting varied menu that delivers on taste and quantity. It is reasonably priced.
So when we need to think of a last minute place to go, we now think of Q. And it doesn't
The Q was known for its tender and flavorful barbecue, but today, the pulled pork and baby back ribs lacked flavor and were dry. If not for the squeeze bottle sauces brought to the table, this would've rated lower.
The coleslaw was over dressed so badly it was drowning and just sent back to the kitchen for a simple butter lettuce salad.
The summer salad and the fried chicken were flavorful... delicious in fact.
The drinks were good.
The sides of cauliflower and Brussel sprouts were fine (not great), though overpriced for the small portion delivered.
The service was fine, though no one seemed happy or took pride in their work, it seemed. Even the manager who was so friendly in previous visits retreated to the back today.
This place has gone down hill in the last year.
For a BBQ place, I'm not sure what it says that the fried chicken is the best thing on the menu.
Great food and service! However, that evening I left my credit card in bill fold and my sunglasses on the table. Called the next day to let them know. I was able to retrieve my sunglasses, however, they couldn't find my credit card. I found that really bizarre! I never got a call back or any updates from the manager regarding asking our waiter about the card. Total disregard when it was a huge concern to me. I was disappointed with the way it was handled.
Good value, food is not bad for West Coast attempt at Barbecue. Don't get the garlic fries- they are just normal fries for an extra fee. The ambiance is a parking lot near a Target. Lots of locals, friendly waitstaff. If you are looking for reasonably priced food in Napa, sit inside and enjoy a good meal.
The service was very good as they got my date and I a table immediately though we came before our reservation. The food was alright, though I ordered something I wasn't a fan of, but same meal as my date. I intend on coming back definitely as it was a good time and the music was great especially for Valentine's Day 😌😍.
Q is close to our house so we frequent often. They have great BBQ meats. I love the ribs and brisket. The brisket is fork tender and melts in your mouth. I like that the BBQ sauces are separate. You get to try different types to see what you like best. Their corn bread & mac and cheese are great. Wine and beer list are good also. Highly recommended.
Authentic southern food, skillfully prepared. The barbecue chicken was moist with a nice crisp skin and the collards were excellent. The noise level inside was moderate and outside was fine except for people at the tables of the yogurt place next door. We found this on OpenTable and would definitely go back.
Sky high pricing and mediocre food served at this strip mall eatery. You could spend your money at whole foods across the parking lot and go home and make a nice dinner.
Wedge salad = wilted lettuce
Super sloooow service
Seems mostly like a bar, yet no beers on tap
I usually have the best service and food here. this last time was terrible. they were understaffed and it took forever to get drinks, water, and when the food came it was burnt. I unfortunately had ordered out and had even more burned brisket to take home for a somewhat hefty bill. I am very disappointed!
Cloudy and the threat of rain outside but inside warm and friendly. We came for brunch and had a delightful time. Initially thought the music might be a bit intrusive but then we settled in and the familiar tunes became a part of the ambiance. Shrimp and grits with a double bourbon, old school, my kind of brunch and good to the last. Not too far from the house so return trips are to be expected. Good food, good drinks, good staff; what's not to like.
We tried their BBQ Sampler Platter that came with Ribs, Beef, and Chicken. Great Food. Only the downside is how they store the wines. Their wine listing is not bad at all but they all are kept right behind the bar in the room temp making the nice heavy RED wine a bit too warm. Since they are in the heart of Napa, they should consider managing their wine better.
This is our 5th visit here coming from Chicago. First time was excellent but every time after awful. Music way too loud but heard owner likes it that way ... According to our waiter. Food was fair and the forgot to place an order.
We've decided too many other restaurants in the Napa area too try. We won't be going back.
Food is awesome! Our waitress was attentive and did an awesome job even though she was obviously very busy. The outdoor seating area is very modern and perfect for kids and some had their dogs out there too, it was great! Me and my girlfriend are from out of town but if we lived closer, this would definitely be a place we would go to regularly. Would definitely reccamend Q to anyone visiting the area looking for great food and awesome service!
Went for brunch and was pleased with the selection on the menu. Ordered shrimp with grits and it came with a welcomed surprise, mushrooms. Dining companions ordered the pulled pork with poached eggs, hamburger and fries, and chicken with waffles. All agreed we would return. Reasonable prices for quantity/quality.
The dining experience was fair to OK. My biggest gripe is the high prices of their food. The quality was OK, but not good. The service was kinda slow, but that the place was pretty empty.
Bottom line, I will not darken their doors again. There are lots of great places to dine in Napa and this is definitely not one of the better ones.
Fast friendly unobtrusive service. Food was well-prepared, fresh, and not overdone. Location not an issue, not noisy or busy. Nice setting + zero pretense + fine ribs = we will be back! Small restaurant, but seated our six without issues. Cheyenne was a wonderful waitperson, thank you!
