The Purple Room Ratings and Reviews
Excellent Christmas evening prime rib dinner with fun jazz entertainment. All the pretty people were out and the drinks are delicious and strong. Bravo! Will definitely return. Parking is tricky though if it's a full house. Park on the street down the block.
So glad we tried The Purple Room. It is wonderful. A real old school supper club. We were there for dinner on Christmas Evening. The 3 course dinner had lots of choices and everything we ordered was excellent. The jazz combo played great music that was perfect with dinner.
Don’t let the somewhat unappealing outside of the building scare you away. It’s a great place with a wonderful staff that makes sure you have an enjoyable evening. Can’t wait to return and see one of their shows.
A wonderful and historic entertainment venue in Palm Springs...revitalized with the current ownership. The Purple Room offers both entertainment with no cover (weekdays) or paid entertainment and dinner packages. A wonderful place to enjoy a different type of evening out.
The entertainment is always top shelf and the food is wonderful and fairly priced.
The Michael Holmes Purple Room always delivers: good food and good music. Wednesday nights are Date Night with a Prix Fix menu and the Michael Holmes Trio (and Michael). The food is consistently good, the entertainment top notch. Go early, go often, you can't miss.
The Purple Room is a very "old school" dinner club with deep local roots in the Palm Springs community. We thoroughly enjoyed the live music and had a nice dinner.
Drinks were generous and well-crafted.
Dinner was good--selection is supper club fare, appropriate for the venue.
We had fun.
We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and it was at the end of our 17 day holiday around the states, it was the best romantic evening we had and a complimentary glass of champagne was offered. The music was great and the food to die for, especially the tiramisu. Don’t go to Palm Springs without a visit here.
Had dinner with friends while listening to Rose sing on a Tuesday night. I thought it was going to be "background music", but if you are in the front dining section close to the stage it's impossible to have a conversation while they are playing. Having said that, the food was very good. Burgers were large and juicy, liver and onions was great. Ahi tuna was fresh and tasty, but beware they bury a scoop of wasabi in the bowl with rice, so you could get a nasty surprise mouthful if you're not careful. All in all though, a great value. We came back another night for the Judy Show which was hysterical. Crab cakes were excellent -- another great value!
The purple lounge is a totally unique dining experience. The food is amazing. we had the poached pear salad, pork loin and rack of lamb. Excellent festive cocktails and a solid wine list.
The entertainment is always great; sitting at the bar and listening to jazz or a full out elegant meal at one of the tables while listening to Rose sing her heart out. We will always come back. There is no place quite like this in the desert. Great value.
We received an email earlier in the day promoting a specific performer for that evening. We booked a reservation on Open Table and was very disappointed to learn that the performer we wanted to see was out of town. You would have thought they wouldn’t send out an email blast promoting that performer if she wasn’t going to be there. You would have thought that the front desk would advise those showing up that there was a change in performers before seating them. Overall, a huge disappointment that the restaurant could have avoided.
