The Pump House
Worth the drive, waitress was friendly and gave great service. Fish was exceptional as were the ribs abd dessert.
Loved the decor!!
This is our first visit to this restaurant. Found this via google search and it was highly recommended. We asked a few locals about this establishment and they all recommended this restaurant as well. The food and service were excellent and the prices were reasonable.
We had a phenomenal dinner here to celebrate the last night of our honeymoon. Our waiter was helpful, attentive, and very accommodating for any requests or questions we had. It gives a strong nod to the rich history of the Fairbanks area in the building and decor, but tastefully. Not a cheap dinner, but pretty much worth every penny.
When reality fails to live up to the promise disappointment ensues. Beautiful locations, wonderful atmosphere, delightful staff but some of the food was disastrous. Specifically the crab salad was awful. The crab was so old that the taste was foul, the eggs were overcooked and dry, the lettuce was wilted. Overall it was inedible. The imbalance between everything else this beautiful restaurant has to offer and the actual dining was a total bummer. Maybe just don't order the crab?
We were visiting Fairbanks from a Reno, NV. The Pump House was recommended. We found the food and the entire experience outstanding. We would recommend the Pump House to anyone.
Wonderful experience. Food was excellent, reasonably priced, and Service great!
Had King Crab legs, and it was great, also had the meatloaf with mashie and gravy, very tasty!
We enjoyed the food; Ther device was great! The dessert tray was excellent
Our B and B hostess recommended the pump house. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next night. Steak and red deer were both excellent. The crab salad and spinach salad also were good. The creme brûlée and strawberry crisp were a great ending to a great meal. Staff are friendly, efficient and not over bearing. Prices are what we expected for fine dining in Fairbanks
The Pump house was a great find. Rich history to the area and now a great restaurant. Great seafood, we enjoyed the Halibut. Definite place to go in Fairbanks!
Absolutely the best food in the Fairbanks area. The service is great, cocktails are good, and the food can’t be beat!
The mesl was great, but the desert was outstanding! Our server be took great care of our party of 8. We will visit sgsin on our next visit to Fairbanks.
The meals and desserts were wonderful. The fried oysters I wouldn't get again, too much batter and you couldn't taste them. The oysters on the half shell were amazing!
Food was excellent. They brought the children's food out first, which was very good to keep them busy. The adults food took quite a bit longer, but was excellent and worth the wait.
Very nice restaurant with a great view of the Chena River. When making reservations request outside seating.
The Pumphouse was a very nice place with a great view of the river. We had to wait 1 hour even though we had an open table reservation. Had a nice appetizer. Didn't get to have dinner as they had a power failure.
I made reservations. The people behind us in line did not. They seated us in a dark corner inside and the people with no reservations got to sit outside in a light airy room nearer the river. My dining partner was so upset she refused to order a dinner. I don’t like ruffling the water so I ordered a meal. Awkward evening.
Waiter would not seat us at a different table because the sun was beating down at us at our table inside with no ventilation. Did not try to accommodate us in any fashion
Old standby that retains its value. On a nice night in the summer, it's hard to beat sitting out on the deck. The menu changes just enough to retain interest and the food continues to be good.
Three of us enjoyed an evening meal of fresh salmon and, or halibut. The seafood was especially good but the vegetables and there preparation set it apart from other seafood restaurants. I have intentions of returning when we return in August with my daughter up for her visit to Alaska
All we had heard, from before we even boarded our cruise, was "You MUST eat at The Pump House". I made our reservation months in advance expecting a fabulous dining experience. It was fair. With all due respect, I am accustomed to NYC restaurants, but we all ordered the mixed grill - Rare to Medium rare. My husbands came out Medium Well and had to be recooked. We have been eating game during our entire 2 week trip, and the reindeer here was just OK. Put a bit of a damper on the meal because it screwed up our timing. The Seafood Chowder, however was fabulous.
Waitress only delivered one meal when two different entree orders were ordered. She never checked on us for status of meal.
Visiting from Florida. We had been to The Pump House years before and enjoyed it so much we brought our friends. The dinner was a complete success for all of us. The food, service and view of the river were all excellent! Highly recommend for any occasion.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, Patrick was a great server! Fun and attentive.
A great stop when in Alaska. The staff was good and the food very good. I had been there many years earlier, and still very good. Nice feel to the place and view of the river.
It was wonderful and the food was exceptional. Loved it where i had a great birthday
We had an Excellent king salmon menu special, cooked perfectly with a nice assortment of veggies. I don’t often finish restaurant desserts, but I wanted to get every last bite of the strawberry/rhubarb cobbler. Delicious!
Excellent service and meal
Wait staff was outstanding. The cup of chowder was fantastic & the main course was well done. The house deserts were the best we have had in some time. Keep up the good work
Nice river front patio — good food and ambience!
The food was wonderful with a nice large serving.
Delicious meal! Visiting Fairbanks on vacation and this restaurant offered local specialities with a fabulous view of the Chena River on the outdoor patio.
Got a great Uber ride and the food and beer were great. It was raining that night, go figure, so no outside. What a history the Pump has. Service was excellent and fast. Great experience.
Chef couldn’t get the scallops and bacon cooked, the bacon was raw and inedible.
Courses were rushed, only half finished salad and entrees were served. Servers kept rushing us, asking if we were finished when clearly we were still eating.
Great food and friendly service. Definitely going back!
We were visiting from Maryland. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our waiter Patrick was exceptional and attentive to all of our needs without being imposing.
Loved it! Great food! Great ambience and decor!
Food was awesome. You pay a few dollars more than similar restaurants, though it is worth it.
Outside deck dining was nice along the river.
We like the Pump House, generally. However, our server did not seem to care if we liked our meal, if we got our drinks, etc. I asked for another beer and 25 minutes later, she finally brought it. She said, "I thought about bringing it to you earlier, but then I had other things on my mind." Oookay. The restaurant was not very crowded, either. My food was EXTREMELY salty, so much so that I could only eat about 5 bites. The server asked if I wanted a to-go box and I declined. She asked why and I told her it was very salty, practically inedible. She said, "Oh well." No apologies and no offer to take it off our bill or bring something else. I think we're done with the Pump House.
Charcoal grilled salmon in a lovely spi achieve salad was exceptional
